I'm using a rooted Zenfone 2 551ML and i'm on stock Asus ROM, my problem is that when i take a picture using the stock camera app, it takes like 2 seconds to load before i can take a picture again. Also, while i'm chatting with someone over the Messenger app by Facebook, the keyboard pop ups lag sooo much that sometimes it renders the keyboard unusable since it's covering the letters. All software are up to date.
Does anyone else have this kind of problem, and if you have experience the same problem is there a fix for this?
Did you updated your ROM? And Wipe Cache in Recovery after instalation
Use any other keyboard and for camera lag wait for a new update from asus..... Its a software problem which was not there until .18.20

Yup, my ROM is stock and is up to date and no, i did not wipe cache in recovery after i updated my ROM. Should one always wipe the cache in the recovery after every update?

I was using an alternative, the Google Keyboard to be exact but sadly the spell checker of the stock ASUS ROM is somehow built in the ASUS Keyboard, and i really like to have a spell check function. Hence my dilemma.

Yes, a couple of updates ago people noticed that battery life worsened and many lags. A friend of mine had updated and had some problems with the camera. Wipe from recovery fixed it, and it became a habit to wipe cache from recovery after every update just in case

Not to jack this post but I'm in same boat but not with those apps. I'm completely stock. The past 3 weeks any games I play lag like crazy. One game actually takes 20 seconds to load and the other, the graphic lags big time. Haven't installed or done anything to cause this. I tryed the cache cleaning also stopping the game from apps, cleaning their data, uninstalling and then reinstalling. Doesn't help not one bit
Update:
I downloaded du speed booster from the play store just for the hell of it to see if it help.... After running the boost cleanup my phone is back to normal. Hope this helps someone else out

I'm completely stock as well that's why i'm experiencing the problem, the lag doesn't appear when i'm using 3rd party apps. Your camera app doesn't load after taking a shot?

The camera has stopped working randomly. The only thing I could think of that might of caused it would be the phone some how shut down when it was in my pocket. When I start up the camera app it immediately closes. When I attempt to use Google goggles, it says cannot connect to camera. What can I do?
First off you can give us some more details as to what software you are running. Are you on a stock Sprint ROM? A custom ROM? Did you install any software and then notice this change? Does this happen 100% of the time?
I'm running the stock 2.2 rooted odexed rom. Stock kernel. And haven't installed any new software to cause this...
I've cleared cache, dalvik cache, camera app's cache and it still doesn't work...
No one has any idea? Has this ever happened to anyone else?
It happens to me on both ava stock 2.2 and now netarchys 2.2... I have to wipe everything to get it back for a few hours... it just did it to me again do you have netarchys fps fix?

This is the craziest thing ever. The camera has returned to working after 10 hours of not working. I didn't do anything to get it to return. I will be continuing to monitor the camera to see if it happens again... This is the first time it has ever happen and the first time I've been on a 2.2 Rom for a significant amount of time.
This just barely happened to my phone too! Grrrr!!!
I'm running Fresh.02 + I tried flashing several kernels to see if it would fix it but none of them helped.
kernels I tried, latest versions of: kingX, snap, netarchy
Will try to do a full wipe and flash the stock 2.2 rooted w/o any fancy mods. <--- ok this fixed it!
Does installing the 3D Gallery app cause the Sense camera app to randomly stop working?
I'm getting the same problem again on a different ROM.
UPDATE: I've uninstalled 3D Gallery & cleared data on the Camera app and it still doesn't work.
i am having this same problem. have flashed several roms with no fix. cannot pin point when this happened either. really frustrating. ive done reboots, wipe, you name it.

Hi guys
Any luck with this problem? I'm using a rooted xperia neo running [email protected] #2 with an unlocked boot loader - I've used Google goggles many times before and then today its coming up with "Cannot connect to camera. You may need to restart your device" and yet the camera is working because behind this pop up I can see the image that the camera is seeing. I've tried to take a screen shot of this but the screen shot uses the camera and therefore I blanks out the image through the back lens.
I've also uninstalled the app and reinstalled it - cleared all Dalvik cache - as well as moved it to SD and made it a system app - none of these trials have made any difference.

Are you sure there are no problems or known bugs with the rom you are using? Have you tried reflashing your rom? (it might be a pain to do, but something in the rom might have broke and it can help to start fresh).
I never post here but I have had a problem with my phone's camera that I fix by some random thread I found a while ago so I thought I would share what helped me. The thread stated it is something to do with the camera's connection to the phone and sometimes with drops or bumps of the phone it becomes loose. All I had to do was turn the phone face down, put my thumb over the camera and press down with some force. Not enough to break it but just to reseat the connection. After that, restart the phone. I have done this a few times and it has been successful ever time. I hope you guys have the same success.

That is correct, in some cases i have found the camera has come unseated. but it could also be the board.
Greetings,
I have arc since May and I'm really satisfied from it.
But here's the thing. It randomly pauses most of my applications after a minute or so.
The first time it happened, i though i misstouched the screen, but I wasnt. When I'm playing games it pauses the game (No graphical lag or any issues, just pause) and i have to touch the screen to continue back. Same applies to youtube and any application that has pause.
Any idea what happened? My arc is stock non-rooted (Since 2.3.4 update) so i didn't mess up with any system files.
Looking at the number of views and no replies seems that no one has this problem , including me.
Have you tried to reflash the firmware or may be tried different region firmware or may be downgrade to lower version? Just to test the issue reappearing?
True. No, I haven't done flash or anything you mentioned before. Looks likely im going to use SEUS and wipe everything. Though I don't have time right now and I'll do it later in the evening or at weekend

I have a Samsung Galaxy S II with stock rom
It started out a couple of days ago. It happens on every application I run, pausing it after a a short time it's running and it happens again every minute or so.
I tried uninstalling new apps but it didn't work.

Mine did that before and after flashing. Seen it happpening in video reviews when the phone boots up too...very common?
Nope wiped the "sdcard" and fastboot the whole image from google.

Okay I got it to stop but here is what I did and now understand what it does.
Wipe dalvik and cache
Flashed this ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1372376
It then rebuilt the dalvik cache and cache on first boot and havent seen it since
Maybe if one of you are will to try this method out to see if it keeps happening
Wipe dalvik and cache
Then reboot
If that works then its just dalvik cache and cache that needed to be cleared out.
Just tried your last suggestion and it didn't work. The only difference was, that after wipe cache and restart, android upgrading start optimizing the applications. This take about 3 minutes (it's deppends of how many apps you have). After second reboot it just say Android updating and start immediately after that. I'm start thinking this is not a bug, but a feature.
Mine's done it since I bought it, just figured it was a feature.
well i think its just starting all the background services before you get to the homescreen... maybe to prevent laggs in the first seconds after start?

You have lots of apps running in the background. Check what is starting at boot and constantly running. You also can overclock your device for faster game loading and scrolling.

I have been using rasbean pretty religiously since porting it for the sprint nexus. I haven't had any slow downs in fact its stayed as fast as it was when I first flashed the ROM clean. Which for me is weird because on other ROMs I always had a slow down after a couple weeks. But not the case on rasbean. I suggest you try it with trinity kernel. Its a stock ROM with hand coded options.

I can almost confirm that:
Bought a new, 4.1.1 Nexus - everything fine
Flashed AOKP, restored some apps with Titanium and filled it with stuff - slow
Flashed CM10 & MIUI - slow
Deleted everything, flashe CM10 and left 3.1GB free - everything fine
In between I also flashed franco and trinity kernels, tried deactivating 5GHz Wifi, tried not restoring with Titanium, deleted many files and maybe other things that I don't remember about.
Looks like you don't have to ever go below 3GB free.

yes, rebooted every 3-4 days. i really don't understand. stock rom was slowed down after I copied my musics about 10 gigs. and now on pa rom slowed down after i downloaded 5-6 mp3 from internet. all I have was 10-15 songs on the phone. and 2 movies about 8-9gb. i always watch movies and delete. after slowed down i removed movies, songs and also google music app but nothing changed.i also flashed a lag fix from somewhere i dont remember but again slow slowslowww now i tried to wipe cache, dalvic cache but nothing changed... when i tap facebook it hangs for 10 seconds and says not responding close app? i say wait and then it opens...
I have the same problem... Slooow as hell, apps FCs and not responding... Problem even stays after flashing other ROMs and stuff... I hope a factory reset will just do it...
So do you all recommend what is discussed in the link you posted or overclocking which one works better? If overclocking what speeds so you recommend?

I have no lag or stutter at all. I'm rooted.
The only issue is a not so good battery life but it's been fixed by using airplane mode at home where I literally have no signal and depend on WiFi calling anyway.
If you had to update via OTA then I suggest you re-flash the stock ROM as that doesn't seem to have issues while the OTA might have introduced a few

Yeah mine does it too. I'm very close to returning my phone. I have gone through two so far, my third one will be delivered today. If this has stutter as well along with GPS issues, I'm done. I have less than 7 days left in my buyers remorse period. So It is now or never.

I was in your boat too. Try the suggestion above. There is something with the update they pushed that is not only killing the battery but makes the entire phone lag. Okay cool I'll give it a try. On another note though it appears to have been hardware issues. My GPS was broken so it kept seeking location which dropped my battery way down. It also just couldn't find my location. I have cleared cache and done all that jazz with it and even used GPS Fix to no avail. So far this new replacement seems to be doing the job.
I'll take a look at not doing the OTA.

Just my two cents, I think this is a memory leak issue. I've seen the phone start to get bogged down but with a quick restart, the smoothness returns as it should. I'm hoping that 5.1 will fix this memory leak.
If all else fails try this.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3079176
