Snapchat Lenses Not working - Nexus 5X Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

For some reason I haven't been able to get snapchat lenses to work on the 5x. Has anyone else had this problem?

I cannot get them working on mine either. Not sure what I am missing.
edit: nvm seems to be working now.

There were a lot of people saying SnapChat just hasn't updated for 6.0 yet. My moto x was too old to use lenses and my 5X is too new to use them...
But if you go to your settings and sign up to be a beta tester your app will update within an hour or so, this fixed it for me!

Strange, it just started working. I didn't do anything

GPS-Information in Photos wrong

Hi,
Everything worked fine for now, but two days ago i noticed that the gps-information saved in the photos are wrong - not just some meters, but thousands of kilometers.
It seems like the altitude is inverted, for example -53° instead of 53°. So, most of my pictures taken the last days seem to be done in the ocean
I tried turning the option to save the gps-data and turning it back on, force-stopping the camera-app and deleting its data and restarting the phone. I also tried shooting photos in some locations, about 2 hours driving away.
I've read similiar problems on other phones, but not on the defy so far, maybe it's android-related? In google Maps everythings fine, finds my location fast and updates frequently.
Using the UK 2.2 with camera- and market-fix.
Someone knows a fix, workaround or got the same problem?

Yes, it's a bug I have observed.
It seems to be limited to the preliminary Froyo releases out there in the wild right now. The BlurCamera.apk does not process the latitude correctly.
While it is not free, try the "Vignette" camera app available in the market. It solved the problem for me.
I have tried to figure out where/why it is inverting latitude, but it is beyond my skills at the moment.
Well, thanks, I'll try vignette, and maybe another rom later. Still annoying that it worked in first place and suddenly stopped writing correct data. But thanks for your help
Edit: actually, vignette (demo) is storing correct gps-data! So I'm going to buy the full version and hope the official 2.2 update somehow, sometime, will fix this in the future.

I have tried many Froyo ROMs. The only camera that processed it correctly was in the Eclair ROMs.
Interestingly enough... the "video camera" records the GPS data correctly. Just not the still camera.
The GPS-data did work on UK Froyo, at least till 4 days ago, older pictures with the same settings got correct data. Well, I'm gonna try some things over the weekend end let you know if i can fix it somehow, but don't expect that much

[Q] Google+ Hangout working?

Just wondering if anyone has gotten the latest G+ update hangout feature to work on there OG Evo?
All I see is something about needing a front facing camera...
Confirmed working on stock rom and not SalvageMod? Reports of others using CM7 also not working...
I have CM7 but the hangouts wont work keeps saying need front facing camera. Any work arounds?
I have this issue too with MIUI. Would love a workaround.
It seems there is an issue with video chat related apps and AOSP roms.. Pitty! I've searched for a work-a-round but can't find anything.
What's funny is I have other video apps working fine with the front facing camera...

Does viber work for you?

Once i setup my number it doesn't load anymore (black screen).
Used to work fine on my nexus one
It does not work for anyone. They say they're working on it.
I'm waiting for the update.
just tried, black screen when launching as well. set up is fine.
yeah the same here, no update yet?
I posted question to Viber on Facebook and they replied back that they were working on the new Android release which will resolve ICS compatibilty issue. They did not give any ETA but promised veyr soon.

Fingerprint Sensor Not Working (Oreo)

Installed Oreo Onto My Sprint Z2 Force. Everything Seems To Be Working Great, Except For The Fingerprint Sensor. It's Like It's Non Existent. Anyone Know What Could Be The Issue? I Tried Searching The Forums, But Couldn't Find A Fix.

The Sprint model doesn't have official Oreo. What device did you convert it to? Best to stay on Sprint firmware. You're kinda out of luck unless you can blank flash and go back to Sprint Nougat. That hasn't been tested yet, but it should work in theory.
I have successfully switched back to nougat a couple times to make sure I could. Just thought maybe there was an easy work around. I can do without the fingerprint scanner, as everything else works fine. Ill post a link to the one I flashed when I get home for reference

I'm running Oreo on my T-Mobile Z2 Force. While you're on a different carrier, I haven't noticed any problems with the fingerprint sensor. You might want to consider having the phone replaced (warranty), it can't hurt to try.

i have the z2 force on sprint and upgraded last year to oreo, been using fingerprint until today, now likeyou said it doesnt exist as an option any longer ???

Problems with Wifi Calling on Google FI / Pixel XL

Does Wifi calling work for pixel XL on google FI or am I just severely missing something? Please tell me what you know. I just got a pixel XL from my brother and I can't get it to work on stock, pixeldust, or on lineage. I appreciate your advice.
finally got it working on stock... no major rhyme or reason. Might of been installing the hangouts dialer that finally did the fix (even though I had tried this maybe 100 times previously to no avail)... this last time after making a quick call using the dialer, hanging up, then quickly switching over to the phone app it mysteriously worked.
if anyone does have any suggestions on how to get it working on one of the custom roms i'd be curious to know if there is a magic fix to get it working
