Would it be possible to create a Marshmallow Rom from scratch like they did for the OPO for example? Since we unofficially have 5.1.1, shouldn't it be the same process to get 6.0 or do we need some stuff from asus since it's a "real" new version ? Was just wondering.
not another marshmallow thread

Yeah, I saw that before posting but we know that if it happens, it's going to be in a while.I'm talking about an AOSP version made from scratch not the official version from Asus. I looked it up and apparently, we need the x86 intel sources for 6.0 to make it work so it seems to be impossible so far. Thanks for the reply thought.

i heard that latest rom for 550ML got too many bugs. (2.19.40)
and a few days later, ASUS release a new rom with a bugfix. (2.19.40.13)
so i want to ask if the latest rom is stable enough? or still got a major bug on it?
do you prefer upgrade to the latest rom or downgrade to the previous version?
upgrade to 2.19
downgrade to 2.17
which one is more stable?
anyone?

upgrade it might not cause a trouble to your device as many are saying mainly US users that the phone is now more smooth and giving better SOT but as an indian user i didn't feel this change rather a deproving one so it depends on u and if u don't want to update then wait for the 5.1 1 release which is on 15-17
wow great. i think i'll wait for 5.1.1 instead flashing the 2.19 version. yeayyyy we will get new lollipop update! but where did you get this information?

I haven't seen any issues with 2.19.40.13. So I'm wondering where these bug stories are coming from.

Hello everyone,
Do you know if a rom Android 6.0 aosp is in prepar ?
Thank you so much
I heard that CM13 is already in the works. It's sort of unlikely that such an old phone would get such a new update, as I think the CM teams would be working on newer devices. It's possible, and if not, there could always be a port.
Thank bro i wait and see

i think that official update will be available JUST for the 2017 model, not for the 2016.
i recommend to change your phone model because the development in this particular model is so hard because the chipset (Mediatek).
i looking for other models because of it
Thats is a load of good thanks LG

sure, i have no doubt of it, but there is something called MARKETING. to LG it's not convenient roll out the nougat update for the 2016 model. They prefer sell us a new phone, with ALMOST the same features/specifications but with a new software and more expensive.
Thats what you call lg being lazy

LG really is lazy and cant be bothered to release nougat for all K8 users but in about a years time someone is going to release lineage OS for the phone if all developers is reading this please release lineage OS for this phone please!

Now nougat is coming on the phone
I have just read up on the gsmarena it comes with 6.0 marshmallow and it is upgradable to 7.0 nougat so it has arrived finally
For Verizon variant, yes. That variant came with 6.0.1 initially, ours is 6.0. I don't believe global or any other variant will receive Nougat. Let's hope I'm wrong Well, maybe someone can port Verizon variant, but I'm not sure if basebands will work.

Verzion and AT & T (LG Phoenix 2) got nougat, they get it because of verzion and at&t, also I think they have Qualcomm chipsets..

Then porting is also next to impossible, different chipsets even though this device lacks space, it's a great device, too bad there are no custom roms for it...
Was really hoping for Nougat on the 2016 version, it's really not fair to abandon OS of a phone that's been out for a year.

I got update on my K8 like month ago but it wasn't anything major, it was some bugs fix and/or performance enhancement. So my guess is that they still care about the device? I'm not honestly sure. Will see.

Is anyone working on an Android O ROM for the LG G4? - preferably supporting H811
the last thing you lost is the hope
Maybe sometime oreo packages will include a G4. But the other way around might take a little bit more time.
I think we will have a useable build of custom oreo before we receive the official stock nougat.
I see LinageOS ver 15 images popping up for other phones, so hoping we'll see something soon.
I doubt LG would make an official Oreo ROM for it, but it looks like Lineage OS 15 (Android O) is being worked on for bootloader unlocked devices (H815, H811).
Of course Android O with Project Treble is a massive change, so it could take time.
I am also waiting for Oreo. ?

When Oreo comes I will grab it as well. [emoji4]
Mods, please close this thread. It has NOTHING constructive to offer. It is just a circlejerk of people crying for something that will never oficially happen.
Well not specifically O but I just don't understand why they released V30 with 7.1.2 out of the box and couldn't do the same for us, instead 7.0 only. Makes no sense as it's not even out yet and V30 has been in development for months...

1. Oreo is only just out
2. It will never, ever come in any official capacity from LG
3. There may or may not be a Lineage build for it, we'll have to wait and see.
To everyone still here, @kessaras has done an amazing job with AOSCP oreo on the G4. So search it, it supports H815 and H811

I have a Fire HD 10 that's rooted, but still is running FireOS (5.6). That's caused a problem for its use as a security panel as the software it uses relies on pure Android and has issues with FireOS.
Now that I'm rooted, I'm not sure what the best path is for wiping away FireOS and replacing it with Android 6 or above.
Thanks...

There isn't a path at present as no custom ROMs are available for the HD 10 platform. Maybe in time ...
There is now an unofficial Lineage OS rom in the original Android development section.

At present there are no custom ROMs for the 2019 HD10 varient. Custom ROMs for older HD10s are generally based on Android 5.1 (Lollipop) or 7.1 (Nougat).
