I've installed timeshift video and 4k video on my ion with libs. 4k video doesn't open (FC). Timeshift video opens but when I press the camcorder button it gives me error. :/ It doesn't Fc. Just gives me error :/

It's not almost impossible. It IS impossible. Our hardware is WAY too weak to record anything at 120fps. Even Xperia Z probably won't get this.

After working the whole night working in porting and testing I finally found a way to use the new bootanimation on our Xperias, the old fashioned way!
Just download and replace in system/media as always.
Works on all Xperias, from Jellybean to Lollipop
bootanimation screen sizes (Download one and rename it to bootanimation.zip before replacing)
- [email protected] (bootanimation1080p.zip)
- [email protected] (bootanimation720p.zip)
- [email protected] (bootanimation480p.zip)
- [email protected] (bootanimation540p.zip)
Coming soon:
- Faster animation loading
- Lighter file size
- Soon I'll update with Copper, Blue and Purple variants

just a question. would it be possible to make a 60 fps version or does the original mp4 file have too low framerate? I feel kinda spoiled by the Marshmallow 60 fps bootanimation ^^'
oh and by the way, it would be nice to see a 720x1280 version
Works awesome on my Z2
Thanks. Works swimmingly on Z Ultra 5.1.1. Still I have to go back to z4 bootanimation cause that white color is blinding...and the animation is too subtle to see clearly
could you make it 720p? i would love to use it on my z3c
Wow, It's amazing !! I'm testing on my Z1 5.1.1 Rooted and deodexed and it's working no problem
Working fine on my Xperia Z3 Single ? ? ? ?

I see. it's simply the mp4 looked so smooth that it seemed it was 60 fps.
I just tried the 30 fps 720 fps version and it works great! it's smooth af and I don't really feel the need to use the 60 fps because with the same number of frames it'll simply play twice as fast. great job and thank you!
Doesn't seem to be working on an Xperia Z2 on Android 4.4.2 - tried both 1080p versions without success.

Yes, it is more smooth than the old jpg/png made bootanimation, with mp4 it loads the whole video and plays sections designed by a playlist file while with images it has to "load" the images first before starting to loop them at the chosen fps. That's why it isn't so smooth at first view. :highfive: Glad it's working fine.

My Opinion? I'm really disappointed of the camera quality of this phone. In general.
My old Arc S (with stock ROM) takes better photos in the same condition of this z1c (with stock ROM). And I'm refer to the "same condition"...(rooted but not unlocked bootloader, stock ROM, same enviroment's light or dark, same subject).
I love Sony and their philosophy on mobile phones and camera sensor, but this bionz sensor (best mobile camera of 2014) isn't really best for me.
So, to answer your question, I didn't notice differences between stock lollipop 5.1.1 sony camera and this update 2.0.
Only better UI, that is great on usability of app. But, by my tests, no change on quality or shot speed.
I flash this update because the new UI it's better, and thanks very much to developers that make this port possible :good::good:.
At last, I will say something obvious, but the best camera quality of this phone was with Jelly Bean 4.3. Bad to say, but in my experience it is, clearly It's just my opinion
This porting have some problem with noise? The other portings of z5 camera in my xperia z2 (expecially in front camera) produce some noise in image.

Check this , you can increase the brightness of recording too to overcome low light.
Your record button may be messed up after first time you record , just open it again and its ok forever , hdr isn't working tho.

The sensor can do 60fps, i think its a software limit from camera driver, xiaomi mi4C have the same sensor (IMX 258) and a modded camera library activate the 60fps video recording

Yea... Looks like the devs have to port the camera drivers of another camera with the same sensor...
A thread for porting the drivers had already been created, to achieve back camera portrait mode on Google camera...
But looks like devs are not interested to do so..
So we have to wait until someone learns the method of porting camera drivers and solve these issues
