im looking for a bluetooth remote controller like the ones in the sony ericson phones
main use will be for power point presentations and controlling my laptop on the move
i have searched and the only one i think is the one in jaylee any other options?
Although I have never used it, i can remember that some piece of software like that called "asus remote presenter" was bundled (or installed already) on my ASUS P535 PDA... however, I think the P535 uses a different BT stack, therefor I'm not sure if that would run on the HD anyway... but maybe it helps you to find something...
regards jan
There is an AMAZING bit of software that does these kind of functions, a friend told me about it and now i always install it into new ROMs. Its called....
GRemote http://gbmsoftware.com/
its at beta at the moment but still works perfectly. I only use it WiFi so im not sure if you can do it via BT
any mirror for the gremote?
any other options?
I'd like an app just like the SE phones as well.
Great benefit of the SE app over the GRemote for me, is that the SE app already works on the login screen of Windows XP. I used to use my SE k800i to login to my HTPC, so that I wouldn't need a keyboard.
As far as I can see, GRemote starts up after Windows login. Apart from that, it seems to do the trick and works fine.

Try this one here: MobileRemote
Works fins on both my laptop and PS3.
MobileRemote is good...
does not require to install anything on PC/laptop.
connects to BT as HID , so it can be used anywhere.

Wow, works like a treat!
The demo version doesn't allow to save pairings, so I had to buy it to see if I could log in Windows without use of a keyboard, but it did the trick
My PS3 can't seem to find my phone. It's just scanning and telling me to wait. Anyone know what could be the problem? I have no problems connecting to other phones via bluetooth, they can always find me.
i advise MobileRemote - works like a charm! I also tried gremote - the free version - and it crash several times.
That works great for a HID, But to expand on this does anyone know of an application that can work via bluetooth or wifi that can connect to an controll a windows media player or winamp remotely? One that shows the track info ad allows you to browse the library etc would be fantastic. It would allow people to be anyware in range of the wireless network (like having a BBQ outside) and control the music.
RSC Remote Mobile - uninstall problems
Hi Remote Mobile User,
I installed RSC Remote Mobile on my Touch HD but it does not work. My PS3 cannot find the HD. Now I cannot uninstall the software from my HD. I tried it on "normal" way using the option under windows and I tried it with the options under Active Sync.
Is there an other tool available to uninstall software from the HD?
Please help me.

I just tried to use the IR Remote Control. It works very good while using the presets, but I can't get it working with manual learning from a remote control.
The App works with my Philips TV and my Sony Blue Ray, but I can't get it to work with my Sat-Receiver.
Does this work on your device? Anyone got a trick how to fix this?
A lot of people have this problem, including me...
talk.sonymobile.com/thread/126050
Same.
It says it learned successfully, but then it doesn't work
Have just gotten my M8
tried using the stock TV app first, didnt work... and it also doesn't "learn" from the other remote.
downloaded IR Universal Remote (which worked perfect on my S4 Active) and HTC Universal remote from the play store...
i do see the red beam flash ONCE only, but still doesnt turn on any device (tried a few diff TVs)
does anyone have an app or way to test this before i send it back for repairs?
None of the softwares remote profiles worked for me, I had to teach the app with the remote manually one button at the time to get it to work.
Worked fine for me, first try. Sony TV and Sony surround with an AT&T U-verse cable box. I only had to use the remote for it to learn from for 1, which worked first try. (All via their TV app on the phone)
I'm sure you're aware, but keep in mind the IR is in the power button itself. Good luck
Google smart ir remote. Best remote out there.
Sent from my HTC One_M8
tried that too but didnt work.
managed to get it working now after resetting the phone to defaults.!

I'm facing the same problem here ... seems to be hardware issue
No problems here.
So ..OP did u send your phone for repair??
or solved the problem by yourself
I have installed several Infra Red apps, and my TV never reacts. It's a classic Samsung TV.
Either I did not understand how to use IR apps, or my IR hardware is broken.
When doing IR on computer, softs allow recording IR frames from other remotes.

Also looking for ways to print over IR, and do IR transfer with other devices.
***
Also looking for NFC apps, if you can recommend a good one.

I had the same trouble when i first got my phone too.... tried all apps but couldnt work on my LG or Samsung TVs.
after i reset to factory defaults, it worked!
My default app for the remote picks up everything. I work in a pawn shop and I am able to connect to tvs , stereos, etc, almost everything with an infrared receptor. So I assume your phone is rooted and that might be the problem. Before the ONE M8 I've used a note 2 rooted so I had to flash something in order to communicate with my TV. Might be the same issue although not 100% sure.

I have used the stock HTC Sense TV app; my TV did not react to any auto detect, but manual record/replay of frames worked. I will have to do it the hard way. Later. I am just happy my phone is not faulty; I will dig later.
In the end ...
the phone includes a TV Application on stock rom that works fine. Just, it starts by asking question about ADSL, TV, region ... but after answering those unrelated questions (and by the way, it forgets to ask if the TV can be controlled by LAN, Wifi ... ), you end up in an IR interface.
The IR configuration tool failed 2d ago. Since then, I have updated to 4.4.3. And rebooted several times.
The issue is that I have installed many IR apps; and after trying to use some, the IR get stuck. So, in short, the solution is: if an IR software does not work, you need to reboot before trying an other one.
Once you have identified a bunch of apps that work, you can switch between them. But, if you ever use a non working one, then, IR will never work again ... untill reboot.
Don't understand why; and don't want to know. Just reporting my experience.
With very similar interfaces: HTC IR universal works fine, Samsung IR does not.
Working for me:
- stock TV app

I hate to create a new thread with similar questions as others but none of the other threads seem to specifically address my question.
Is there a way to use the android phone to emulate a bluetooth keyboard/mouse functionality that simply pairs with other devices. I know there are many client/server applications but with regards to Fire TV Stick I just want to use the setting.apk and pair my phone to it. I have searched high and low but can't seem to find anything which makes me believe there is something inherent to that feature I don't understand which makes it not possible.
I have several apps sideloaded to Fire stick (Xfinity TV) requiring mouse and keyboard functionality. I can't find an efficient way to do this with my phone instead of buying more hardware (bluetooth keyboard/mouse).
Thanks!

Maybe something like this will help....
http://www.aftvnews.com/remote-mouse-app-released-for-fire-tv-fire-tv-stick/
Its like 2 bucks. It has both KB and mouse functionality. Not sure how good it is, I have no experience with it.
If you just need keyboard functionality, you can get by with Amazon's official app which is free...

EDIT: I re-read and understand you want native BT functionality to pair your android device. I have not come across anything like that. But, you can use the app which will let you ditch your hardware keyboard, but comes with extra steps of firing up the app and having your device and FTV on the same wireless network.
I just tried out the Free Wukong TV remote app from Google Play Store. It works to control the FTV Stick and has a mouse mode that lets you use the screen as a left click. I tried it in Xfinity To Go app and Old Slingplayer tablet app that needed a mouse to select options. It works but you need to switch between mouse mode and d pad mode. It's pretty easy to switch from the app.
The Wukong app once you install on your phone and then make sure you are on the same wifi network as the Stick and enter IP of Stick or press Scan network. It will install a Wukong Remote server app on the stick. Once that is installed restart your stick and try to connect. The on the upper right is a button to switch between remote styles ie keyboard, dpad, touchpad, mouse mode.
There is a Wukong keyboard app that you can install from the phone also which lets you input text in Stick using your phone virtual keyboard. I tried it and it works and is better than using the Stick remote. However I get scared of using that app to put usernames and passwords because this app is from China and who knows if they are keeping that information.
I ended up taking the Wukong of my daily use phone and put it on a a cheapie $10 Android phone. Works great and I feels safer that this app can't be logging my information.
You could try 'True Mouse/KB' in play store, it adds Bluetooth HID device profile to your phone.
