"Unfortunately, Phone has stopped." - G4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Since the latest update my phone is sending all calls to voicemail.
Verizon G4 on 5.1 | VS98612A | not rooted
It may ring for 1 second, sometimes not at all and there will not be a missed call notification, nor a missed call entry in the log.
The error message only pops up when a call is coming in. I can open the phone app no problem, can make calls, listen to voicemails, send/receive text etc.
The only way I even know I received a call is if the caller leaves a voicemail.
Anyone else have similar problems lately?
Call forwarding is off, this seems to happen with all calls (tested three different locations).
Advanced calling is active.

Update:
Nothing I tried worked, so a factory reset it was and it's working fine again.

No incoming call notifications

My phone will switch itself off when in standby mode from time to time and it's a pain in the neck. I don't know if that's related to the main issue.
I can't receive incoming calls for periods of time, but I can still receive voicemail alerts. Yesterday, I was just picking up voicemail after voicemail. On top of this, intermittantly I won't get an incoming phone call notification, just the missed call icon afterwards.
I'm currently running Black 2.0 with Radio 1.38.00.10. Anyone got any ideas?
I suspect your phone is going into HSDPA mode and the network is not letting calls through during that time. I had the same problem on my non-operator bought phone with my provider 3-Sweden until I installed their extended ROM. If your operator hasn't offered a solution, you could try getting HTweakC and turning HSDPA off (this still allows regular 3G connections, which do allow incoming calls regardless).
I have a similar problem...
except mine has gone into this mode of operation permanently.
I'm running Black Satin & a radio ver 1.48 When I receive a call, the signal strength icon drops out & goes searching meanwhile the call is diverted to message box. My outgoing calls work fine as does both out & incoming SMS messages. I've tried changing swapping my sim card but it still does it with the different Sim. I've tried reflashing the roms & hard booting but the problem persists. I don't know whether this is a hardware issue or whether the firmware isn't working correctly with my operator vodafone NZ

Incoming calls not coming though via Google Voice

I have been using GV for a while and had not problems until this week. My phone has been unusually quiet. Turns out that I am not receiving my incoming calls at all. I only figured this out because I was getting GV vmail notifications but there were no missed calls in my call log.
Has anyone else had this problem/ Does anyone know of a fix?
Thanks!!!!!
I think that you need to go to the google voice page and have it forwarded to your phone.
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
Thanks for the reply Ruben but I already have it forward to phone. Until this last week. I can get GV to forward to home, work, etc.... It just does not want to forward/work on my cell. I have had the DI since launch date and it fx well till now.
I though that maybe it was b/c I rooted but then I removed/reverted to back to stock and still no luck. My wife and brother have the same issue.... ODD
If you make a call outbound, does the caller id on the receiver's phone have your GV number? IE: Does it GV work outbound but not inbound?
Have you tried to un-forward and then re-forward the GV?
All outbound calls work. Also when making an out bound call it will display my GV #in the caller id. I have tried un forwarding and then re-forwarding. I've even hard reseted the phone. uninstalled the app and tried to see if I can receive calls. Reinstalled the app, changed settings to ask b4 making calls, deleted my phone from GV and re-added it. So far no luck.
I am getting the same problem. No incoming calls, but can do outgoing calls.
Running an unrooted N1 with FRF91
Just tested with my DInc by calling via GV to GV of my friend's DInc, still working for us.
Unrooted Incredible
GV is still a bit of a work in progress. I have had some minor trouble with it in the past. Sometimes you need to reset your settings or just wait it out if its an issues with their servers. For the most part it has been problem free.

True... I had it when it was Grand Central....until now I have had an flawless experience with GV. Seems like once they transitioned from invitations their servers became bogged down.

[Q] Can't Ignore phone calls

I can't seem to ignore calls and send them to voicemail. When i get a call I slide the image down to ignore, and it goes away, but then the call pops back up and does this times before actually ignoring and sending to voicemail. Has anyone experienced this? I have tested with both the normal voicemail and with google voice as my voicemail.
thanks for any help.

Not Receiving Incoming Calls

So for some reason, my Evo just stopped receiving incoming calls. I can make calls fine, but when someone calls me, my phone doesn't ring. I tried using my land line to call my phone and it rings 4-5 times and goes to voicemail. However, the phone never rings at all. I'm not sure what the problem can be and how to resolve this issue. This just started happening today.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
edit:sorry

Thanks for the suggestion.
I called sprint and got it fixed. Had to restore everything by doing ##3282# and entering MSL and restoring the data profile.
Are you on 3G only? I've had similar problems. I think what happens is that the phone gives priority to certain data activity (like account syncs) over voice (and SMS). And depending on what you're syncing and what kind of speeds you're getting then it could block you from getting calls for several minutes at a time. I use the hotspot a lot and I basically can't receive calls or SMS when I'm on 3G using the hotspot.
Try turning off all account syncing stuff (or go on wifi) and then try calling your phone. See if the calls go through. That's not a fix, really. Just a way to figure out what the problem is.
If this is your problem then one kind of lame work around is to go to Settings->Call and switch the voicemail provider over to google voice. This way your calls will automatically roll over to google voice and from there you can set it up to fwd calls to either your landline or gchat or something. Also, you'll at least get missed call notifications. I haven't figured out a way to handle SMS though. I routinely get them delayed by at least 10 minutes. I've just been telling people to text me on google voice. But that's a pain.

[Q] Problems with Outgoing Calls

Hey everybody
So I've had my DHD on Vodafone since November. Since that time I've been having a recurring problem making out going calls as well as forwarding text messages and occasionally receiving calls.
Making Outgoing Calls: Whenever I try to make an outgoing call the phone will bleep and say 'Call ended'.. It does this alot at first it was across the board but tonight I seem to be able to call everyone apart from the person I actually need to call (typical).
Forwarding texts: I dont seem to be able to forward texts at all.. They get sent from my phone and it shows up as being sent but they are never received.
Receiving Calls: Less of a problem however every now and then people will try to call me and wont be able to get through.. Also sometimes the phone will cut out in the middle of calls.
Has anyone experienced problems like this before and if so what are the solutions??
I have tried switching the network settings and my wi fi is off and nothing has worked. I have also taken the phone apart and cleaned all of the contacts..
Phone already restored??
Sim Card tested in another phone, whether the card is OK??
Ask the provider to send you the right net configuration via sms??
only some ideas you can try....
