APPS Streaming video on Nexus 7 2013 -Clan & Disney Channeli- don't work after flash Stock Marshamallow 6.0 !!!
Don't steraming the videos ....maybe is a permissions issue or is needed upgrade code of application by developer to work with Marshmallow?
Already got a thread about Nexus 7 2013 marshmallow streaming issues:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/nex...-qa/video-freezes-marshmallow-update-t3224681
I would suggest going to: https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/list and make a bug report. Seems to only effect nexus 7's though.
Thanks
Thank you, seems is a marshmallow issue with streaming...

Hello folks,
since I'm a new user on these forums I can't post my question directly to the Viper4Android-thread, so I have to do it here.
I recently purchased a Nexus-7-tablet (2013-version) and can't get Viper4Android to actually work.
I can start it, the driver-installation was fine, but the Equalizer is just not doing anything.
Is there anything I missed? Maybe there isn't any compatibility for my device?
The hell I know
Could anyone please help me out?

Poweramp is better

Hi, thanks for answering first.
I can't post to the official thread for now since I'm missing the minimum number of posts.
-FX version 2.3.0.1
-Stock Rom (Bootloader unlocked/Root)
Poweramp seems to be a music player app? That's not the reason why I want to use Viper4Android. I mainly use my Nexus with MxPlayer and Spotify.
I still in need of some help
there is a version of viper in market under v4a. it will install and work like a charm

When you are playing music what does it show under status?
Have you tried changing to compatibility mode or safe mode? Is your SupserSU up to date?
Also, in the main thread, most people can't get it to work on Spotify, and there are still a few issues getting it to work on 4.3

What should it show? Everything is normal apart from "processing = no".

Yep. I also switched to Cyanogenmod and it's not working on 4.4.2 and/or Spotify. I can't verify your statement regarding "most people can't get this too work too".

Try changing this line lpa.decode=true*to*lpa.decode=false in build.prop, and reboot. This seems to be a workaround for CM users

Sinless ROM has Viper4Android built it
Here, try Sinless ROM, I love it
Has everything and does everything I ever need - and I've tried several roms on my N7.2.
Its got Viper4Android as part of it too!

Hi guys,
I recently bought Nexus 7 2013 and i have installed VIperdandroid. It works awesome when i listen to songs from Play music but when i watch any movie there is no sound effects that i get while listening to music. I have used BS player and now MX player but still couldn't find an improvement Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
For me V4A only works with Poweramp and Soumi music player. HTC Sensation with most applications running on 4.1.2 JB. I do not know if it's a matter of KitKat or lack of ability to edit build.prop.
I noticed there are quite a few apps that Viper4Android don't work with too. It's great when it does work though.

CM 11 Nightly
I have a LTE Nexus 7 2013, it is running CM version 11-20140813-NIGHTLY-deb. I have the latest version of Viper4android installed. Viper works for Google play music, but i cannot get it to work for Sirius or iHeart Radio.
Under driver status
Driver version: 2.3.3.0
NEON Enabled: yes
Enabled: Yes
Status: Normal
Audio format: Supported
Processing: No
Sample Rate: 48000
I also have a Nexus 5 and viper4android works just fine on all apps
I have uninstalled and reinstalled, uninstalled the driver and reinstalled the driver, changed from Normal mode to Compatible mode then rebooted.
I have tried to Force Enable V4A then reboot not change.
Is this app compatible with the Nexus 7 2013 LTE or it the ROM CM 11-20140813-NIGHTLY-deb ROM?
So I've recently tried upgrading from CM12 to a couple of different ROMS based on CM13 (Tamasek and Purity). With either rom I find that when I try to watch purchased Youtube videos I get an error of "This video is not playable on this device". I posted a message here as well as contacted google support and got some interesting feedback. In short Google stated that cyanogenmod stopped supporting DRM with CM13 and as such CM13 and CM14 will not play purchased videos from youtube or any other service.
My question is this. As being able to play back my purchased videos is somewhat a core feature that I need is there a Marshmallow rom out there that supports this type of playback, or am I SOL? From here on out when I want a new version of android I'll need to buy a new device?
I can’t seem to get Netflix to work on my 2013 nexus 7 flo, with Lineage 14. Netflix use to work great when I was on stock 6.0 but after I updated to Lineage 14 Netflix no longer works. I try un-installing and re-installing the app, clearing out cache and data but still not working. Is there a work around to get Netflix working on Lineage? Thanks.
Works fine on Moto Z with 14.1. Using official root add-on

I was on Chainfire SU and thought to try Lineage root add on to see if it can fix my Netflix not working issue but it didn't work and it also broke Viper so I had to go back to Chainfire SU to get back Viper.
Back to Square one any suggestions?
Works on LG G3-D852 from Play Store since Lineage 14.1 20170612-Nightly.

Sorry for the late response. The issue is not lineage itself. It's the way drm (widevine) is implemented in the builds for the nexus 7 (2013) devices.
There is a solution using drm files and an older version of Netflix. But for some (including me) downloading movies is not possible anymore.
So what has your solution been in the meantime?

What I’m doing about Netflix on my Nexus 7 is to download the apk from ApkMirror. I use Netflix mainly for streaming to Chromecast and I found that if I hit the stream icon first and start casting to Chromecast first and then start a show it would work and start casting to my TV but I still can’t watch a Netflix as a stand alone.
Hey all have a og pixel XL it's unlocked and rooted either stock kernel December update (8.1) I use vlc at work to watch and listen to downloaded videos I've been using it for months now with no issues. Now I recently noticed that all my videos stutter and hitch . I though it was because I went for 8.0 to 8.1 so I went back and it was still happening (even though in the past I had no issues)
Only way I can fix this is to disable hardware acceleration in vlc settings. But doing thumis makes my device warm and sucks battery (being that it's decoding HD video via software) this is driving me nuts. How can I fix this?
I downloaded the device driver binaries from Google but no idea how to install it. I though I could make sure they are all up to date but not sure how to go about that.

Has VLC been updated recently? it sounds like if it's happening on 8.0 and 8.1 and wasn't happening before ... it's likely an issue with the app itself and not the OS.

No, do NOT do that. that's not what those drivers are for - they are for developers, not end-users.
your firmware contains the drivers that you should be using / built for your firmware.

i could not find a past version of the app. well i did on apkmirror but the only non beta past app was from nov 28th i was looking for one from like october but only found beta versions. tried one of them. still doing it. i think it has something to do with 8.1. i would do a back up with twrp and just do a fresh install of 8.0 and see if it happens again but last time i tried making a twrp back up restoring from it failed.
You can download the older builds from the vlc website:

well, I did just try vlc. not sure what u are watching, but I used a couple 4k videos on my phone and 4k YouTube videos.... no issues. - but that may not be an best test; I'm not using the stock kernel...
I'd see if u can get someone who isn't running a non-stock setup to reproduce it....? maybe someone will read this and give it a test too...

i think i found the issue. i use the app arktube to download youtube videos the night before i go into work so i can listen and watch while on shift. in the app there is a setting to allow to download VP9 version of videos and i had it selected for some reason. those videos are the ones that are stuttering unless i disable hardware acceleration.
would you be able to test to see if VP9 content stutters on your pixel? the video i had was 2560x1440P VP9 youtube video here is the video i downloaded https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=33OZFYN_cQw&index=22&list=PL8mG-RkN2uTyuEutQa79RZ0Q5u5gteUci
i just got done flashing 7.1.2 and 8.0 with different versions of VLC each and still had the issues so i guess its because of VP9. which makes no sense being that i can view it fine from the youtube app at that setting but cant if i download it and play it via vlc?

well, I'm not going to be installing arktube or downloading the video. but the link itself plays fine in vlc...
Well, having come from a long line of Nexus phones I really like the 5T and OOS except...
I can't get many simple videos to play back - either getting a 'MIME/Not Supported' or 'EXCEPTION' in the logs.
An example is the video at the top of this article: https://www.stuff.co.nz/business/pr...n-my-quiet-cul-de-sac-say-Auckland-neighbours
Can others play that video?
Now, installing VLC or otherwise is NOT a solution because many videos I'm struggling with are embedded so use the built in Chromium player.
Everything works fine on my 6.0.1 Nexus 5x but many (most?) don't work on my 8.0.0 (OOS 5.0.4) OP 5T.
If I can't play most of the media I find on the web the phone is practically useless and will be going back. This is a 1990's problem, not one we should be facing in 2018.
Thoughts? Insights? Comments?
As it happens https://oneplus.net/support/ticket/submit is broken too at the moment, nice one OP.
42 views and nobody has tested the link for me...
Open beta 4. Play just fine. No problem here.

I am interested in buying the 5T, among other phones... so I was intrigued by your post.
I tried this link on my home computer - and do you realize the video in question is a APPLE "mpeg.url" link? It could simply be the app your phone is dedicated to use is not equipped to understand URL's as links. Try installing a different browsers, and try to play it with each....and see what your results are.
I suspect the problem is the default app isn't equipped to understand those links. My Asus tablet TF700 had a similar issue until I realized it was the old version of "Chrome" that was installed on it that was having the problem... FireFox on the same Tablet didn't exhibit the same problem.
Thanks for the suggestions @Animal2017, I have tried a few browsers with the same result I'm afraid.
Since @tanpro260196 can play the videos with the stock (albeit beta) ROM and browser I think I'll flash back to fresh and new first and build from there. OnePlus tech support also advise they can play the video on a 5T (not sure of ROM version though) so there's hope.
Tried with mozilla Firefox and Chrome, video plays just fine. OB4
Okay, well I dirty-flashed OB4 and the problem is fixed.
I then decided to go back to 8.0 using a nandroid backup to see if I could diagnose further (an unnecessary step but for my interest). TWRP proceeded to bork my storage so I lost everything on /data and /sdcard including all my backups. Great.
Anyway, thanks for the help and replies.
