Whenever i put my G3 on charging it charges like it's connected to a USB cable and the charging becomes so slow... :crying:
So i keep pluging and unpluging the charger until it charges regularly. (I'm using the original charger that came with the phone)
I tried a different cable and it worked, then i tried the same cable but with a different charger and it also worked .-.
This thing is driving me crazy xD every time i need to charge the phone i plug and unplug the charger more than 20 times until it chrges regularly and that charging sound come  the sound makes me feel happy
I added some pics to help
Please any help
Probably a bad charger
Wouldnt hurt to take into a service centre to make sure that theres no problem with the Micro USB port

My BA sometimes doesn't charge from USB sync + charge cable. When I connect it, PDA shows "Charging" and LED flashes, but battery doesn't charge... But sometimes all is OK!
And because my charger is at home, at work i need to charge using my cable :S Can someone explain me, why my phone doesn't charge sometimes? I have tried to make Hard Reset, but the problem still exist... And this situation is not predictable, so I don't know, when my PPC will charge, and when it wont...
I've also tried to use AC -> 5v USB adapter with my cable, problem exists too...
PS. BTW, now my BA charges from USB, but at morning its battery was 0% (all night it was connected to USB cable and showing "Charging...")...
Help please
P.P.S. Sorry for my English.
Here is my thoughts - this happened to me
If I connect my USB/sync cable to a PC at home it charges fine, but I also have a laptop with a PCMCIA USB2.0 card and when I connect the XDA to this, it says charging, but is not :!: exactky the symptoms you describe. I have had both batteries completely discharge in this way and everything was wiped out.
I think that my PCMCIA card does not generate enough current to actually charge the battery, but since it is cannected via USB, the phone is foolled into thinking it is charging. I have verified this by connecting to the USB1.1 port on my laptop motherboard & it charges OK
Yes, I also think so, but sometimes it charges! :?
I will try active USB hub, maybe it will help?
P.S. I also bought AC charger, but when I use it power LED sometimes light RED but not orange :? Is it normal? Battery charges OK.
Hi guys, I have a Tilt2 with the EnergyROM...
My phone recently started acting up, and wont charge the battery when plugged in (oem HTC charger)
The orange light turns on, and phone says charging but battery level doesnt change, in fact it drains as usual. Yet sometimes if I leave the phone plugged in it will start charging?
I also get the current charge isnt enough switch to AC charger or close applications error sometimes when plugged with the AC charger...
I'm leaning towards a bad battery but wanted to see if anyone had this problem before?
Thanks in advance!
That sounds like a charger problem. try a different one.
thanks for the response...i tried a charger that had the usb plug to it, i tried a charger with a usb end on it, and two car chargers and i get the same effect...i did hard resets and even installed a new ROM to see if it would help. but no luck

It's the the charging points , look at the middle bar is it staight across try bending it just a little , a smidge left or right , I had this issue before and also on my original tilt and it fixed it.
Anyone know what needs plugging in to get this phone to charge please? I have always used it with both cables plugged in. Suddenly I am trying not to bother using the USB cable and it only charges in the cradle for a minute or so before the orange light goes off. With the phone plugged in OR with the battery plugged into the slot on the cradle. (therefore this doesnt seem to be to do with the charging circuits in the phone itself). I dont think it has always done this.
So I tried plugging the USB cable back in and hey presto, my brand new battery starts to charge properly.
Does anyone know if this means that the ac adapter connected to the cradle is malfunctioning and not putting out enough power? Or enough power constantly enough to continue putting out the necessary 5v? Or is it only supposed to work with both cables plugged in? When I unplug the ac adapter, the battery stops charging so I cant figure out where the cradle is getting its 5v to charge! Other have reported, worryingly, that the unit should charge with the USB cable alone.
I did look at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=282983 but they all talk about after market chargers not working, whereas I am pretty sure mine is the original Siemens sx66 charger. Does anyone think that the adapter is failing and eventually BOTH the power cable AND the USB cable wont put out enough power to charge the unit?
When the phone is off and plugged into the wall, it charges. When the phone is on, and I plug it into the wall or computer, the phone doesn't know it's plugged in.
I ordered a brand new usb charging flex jack and replaced the old one, still the same problem. What gives?
EDIT: I am stock. Not rooted.
Does this happen on the original cable also?
Have you tried wiping?
Is Fast Charge on?
Fk. It doesn't even charge from the wall! When the phone is off, it has the animation that says it's charging when i plug it in the wall. I left it plugged into the wall overnight. This morning I took a look at the phone, and it didn't charge!
Oh noez, what should i do?
Also, I don't have the original cable. I'm using an HTC one.
EDIT: Dafuq?! I found an LG charger. Apparently the phone knows that it's charging when I charge with that. The thing is, that charger is just a charger; it's not a usb cable+ an adaptor. So I can't use it for adb and such.

You should mention what ROM you're on (and version) so that no one else makes the same mistake I did in assuming you had a custom ROM and that Fast Charge is on. It's a feature that makes sure that whatever charges it is recognised as AC 1amp charger as some chargers aren't designed well enough (I believe it involves a single solder point) to report themselves as capable of 1A. If it doesn't report as AC to Android, it will charge at 500mA instead (it assumes USB power). It sometimes causes problems with connecting to PC via USB.
Get another USB cable, this time none of that fancy **** go straight to OE Samsung or something.
=O I thot all usb cables are made equal! So I can't use an HTC usb cable? The dude didn't sell me the phone with a cable T.T
Also, I'm stock. I am not even rooted.
My nexus just started acting stupid when I plug it in also.
Mine sat in a drawer for a few weeks and when I plugged it in to charge, it wouldn't.
What I did was this.
plug device into charger
remove battery for a few seconds
replace battery
press power button
phone powered up and began charging.
Even now, it still sometimes doesn't recognize the charger and I have to unplug and plug it in until it does.
I use a rocketfish cable.

Some devices are picky, you'd think that all USB cables are made equal (I did too) but some just don't work well with certain devices. I've had printers th... wait printers always have **** problems... I've had uh... usb extensions not work well with some Wifi dongles and such. My old milestone didn't like the Samsung cable either (yet the Moto cable works perfectly on gnex)
=O. Then it has to be the usb cable! No way it's not!
I ordered one on ebay =D
Rooted Gnex here I come!

Thank you dmappdev,
I followed your procedure (feel like talking about surgery here, which isn't too far from topic); I'm convinced that it helped in some way, directly or indirectly... as at first, my Galaxy S Advance still wouldn't recognize/charge my phone with:
1. its own charger,
2. my old Galaxy Ace's charger,
3. a universal wall usb plug used with the S Advanced own USB-to-USBmini cable.
My last idea was to use, quote: an old Nokia USB cable connected to my PC... and that worked.
I was much too happy my phone had remembered how to charge to stay mad... But I still tried those three means for charging again, and only the phone's original charger worked now. So the phone's charging ability has been "awakened" in some way, but only for the original charger ...technology is improving, but not the ethics on making life easier for the consumer.
All this was yesterday. This morning (there's more, yes), I saw my phone indicating a 100% charge although it had been disconnected from charge for several hours - something that had already happened once yesterday, before the unable-to-charge situation; a simple reboot took care of the problem, the battery status now showing a more realistic 53%.
Any comments to any of the above? If not, thanks again for your tip anyway !!!
As the title says. It actually does charge slow when that happens. But sometimes I'll replug the charger in and the pop up will stop happening and then it seems as if it's back to charging normally.
Mine does it all the time when I charge it in my truck.
Have had same problem. Given it likes your charger (Charger giving it enough Amps) It's your charging cord.
Try a new cord, or if you're using a micro-usb to android C adapter, try new adapter.
Worked for me. Good Luck !
