[ROM][3/1/2011] LiquidM_Villain (v1.1)

Hi at long last release time is upon us. I bring to you the Acer Liquid Metal Rom port, with the joint effort of Me,HomerSP(Team Villain) and with testing and collaboration by TheDeadCpu. Now what can i tell you about the rom, is it fast? of course it is, is the battery life good? hard to tell im always on 2g(At&t) Does it all work? No of course not. now with that said lets get on to what does not work.
You NEED CWM3.0, not the Beta Version of CWM 3.0 that only works on gingerbread, if you have that recovery and you flash my rom it will get stuck in the white htc logo, so please download the CWM recovery with rom manager, or make sure its not the Beta version.

Installation instructions:
1.Copy LiquidM_Villain_v0.70.zip to the root of your Sd-Card
2.Reboot phone into Recovery Mode(CWM 3.0 is a must)
3.Chose wipe cata/factory reset
4.After its done Chose install zip from sdcard
5.look for choose zip from sdcard
6.The look for LiquidM_Villain_v0.70.zip and hit your touchpad button wait for it to finish and enjoy.
Known issue:
Wifi Tethering does not work
TheDeadCPU Edit: DO NOT uninstall the Acer Launcher.

highly doubtful, i don't think it can be done not sure, maybe the independent apk's of the launcher/framework-res can be extracted and made standalone from the main rom, dunno that's something i don't know how to do.

Well, what the original rom did was just take this launcher and made it default

Launcher will work .. kind of. It'll take forever to load, and if you touch the black bar, it'll FC. The 8 icons also won't show up. You'll be able to use the app drawer, as well as swipe left and right, but that's about it. No notification bar. Also, doesn't play well with LCD Density.

yeah so I am hoping once he finishes porting it out, I can just take what I need from his port and use it for GB

soo... we could use this with adw ex and basically get the lock screen with still keepin stock android "look" for our homescreen? correct.. i really only like the lockscreen. its badass...

Id be willing to help out and test the rom as you port it.
I was going to try and port this myself, but, have no knowledge of doing it, so most of my time would've been on just reading and learning first, haha.

coming from ics n all I can say is wow, the speed is mind blowing!! super stuff chef n thanks for the rom, I recently tried out the nokia lumia phones n wanted that simplicity n speed in my device too, ur rom does quite the job, only if we can get the animations too (greedy!!)
One thing that bothers me is the carrier name on the status bar, any way to get rid of it??

Is the rom to support Arabic? (RTL Fix)

Very little Bugs, needs a little cleaning up and performance work, but everything else is wonderful!!!

3g fix Must Be Done Every Reboot(Only For Build 1.0):
1. Menu Button
2. Settings
3. Operators
4. Access Point Names
5. Virgin Mobile US
6. Scroll Down To APN type
7. Delete "mms", leave it blank (MMS will still work trust me)
8. Press The Back Key
9. Be amazed by the circle on the right hand side
10. tap this circle multiple times until the 3g icon shows up in the status bar (make sure Data is enabled!!!)
11. Profit
And if that Isn't working for you...
1. Settings
2. Operators
3. Access Point Names
4. Menu Button
5. New Apn
6. Put Anything for the name
7. put anything for the APN
8. Back Key
9. tap the circle till 3g icon shows
How To Install:
1. Boot into recovery
2. BACKUP!!!
3. Wipe Cache & Dalvik-cache
4. Format system, data, and cache
5. Install zip from sd card (Choose the rom)
6. Wait...
7. Install zip from sd card (Choose Google Apps)
8. Reboot(Will take a while )
Suggetions:
For a better launcher, use espier launcher - Espier Launcher - Android Apps on Google Play

Better IOS look by xxlemonxx:
1. Install this rom
2. Change the clock to center and Normal Pm/Am, Get batter % and Icon
3. Install these applications
Iphone Notifications
iLauncher
Iphone Keyboard Emulator
Espier Browser
4. Download a Music Icon, Clock icon, and Safari icon. Change all of them according to so in the Ilauncher settings application so now every app is themed like Ios5 Then "Hide" All of the random apps that are unneeded on the homescreen.
5. Customize your homescreen however so.
For more of a Ios look..
6. Install MiLocker and get Iphone 6.7.Mtz ( Its a Miui Theme ) and use that, then in Milocker check "Hide statusbar" and its a clone to the Lockscreen.
7. Download AIVC from the Market or 4shared or whatever place you want it is almost Exactly like Siri and just a market app.
Random reminders...
In the orginal lockscreen Double hit home to see the camera shortcut.. No one mentioned this so far!

No it isnt, I ported it from the joyOS site directly(Gave them credit) and used mrg666 rom as a base(Gave him credit). I dont take other people's work and say it is my own sir...

The dev from the O1 has a beautify patch which basically adds extra features like white status bar and carrier text in status bar u should borrow that from him and a whole lot of other cosmetic tweaks

Yes Ive noticed My next build contains some of the ideas he implemented into his rom, but more ios5ish

I installed the rom and it looks and works great. Couple questions.. How am i able to turn the back lit light on the from buttons when the phone is in standby mode. also is there anyway to see the city under time in English.. Not sure what language it is showing currently. The language is set to English currently.

I've noticed this too, they seem to take forever to turn off after you reboot, but give it sometime, and they turn off like normal and yes, the world clock (JOYCLOCK) does have some chinese in it unfortunately :/ and I suggest just download another clock app

just rooted this optimus v just flashed this rom,gonna give it a run,great job to all of those involved in bringing this rom to life.it looks good

Sorry for that but it has to do with the transfer from a cwm flash to a cm9 theme.
The next update will be some xml updating and png file updating to get a smaller file size and a faster experience and bug fixes.
In the third version there are some more things themed.
I hope you can enjoy it

I have to revert to another theme and will come back as soon as the new release is available. The current one have many white/white issue!

Only want to report one minor bug. If you choose % battery in the CM9 status bar settings it will result in having two icons for battery {it does not remove the normal battery when switching to the %-one)

Iff you are reverting to the message application with the white on white problem this will be solved with the third version i am sorry for this.

Can you try to install it again maybe that will help.
As you all know this is the first release of the CM9 Black Android Theme and the next releases will only get better and better

I tried re-installing, but got the same issue. Does not matter waiting for the next release.
And btw, i think the other problem should be called black on black and it is the messaging app and the contacts app too. Don't know how but that problem is not present in the phone app. Anyway, thanks for your work!

The back-light setting bar (MIUI 4.0) is too thick! Thinner is better as my opinion

dude i love what u did to Minco ROM and i would love to keep this mod. the only problem is the navbar dpi. what i did is i flashed your mod to minco and noticed that the navbar dpi is stock so i flashed a mod (the official one) to change the navbar dpi size but it messed up the over scrolling effect on the rom. i was wondering if you could help about my navbar crave. hope you could upload or share a modded navbar with 32 or 24 dpi. thanks bro, hoping for an answer. btw, ireally love what u did! awesome work bro! thanks!!

Hello there, thank you for the mod.
But it seems it messed up with some of the UIs... (Font on Instagram are too slow, some glitches in Whatsapp messenger)
Can I keep T9 only and revert back to previous state? I didn't take back up
