My T705 warranty will expire tomorrow, rooted but knox still 0x0.
I'm thinking of installing custom recovery, kernel, rom => knox 0x1
There's no point keeping it 0x0 right ?
or Samsung wont repair the device in the future if I trip knox ?
(even if I pay for the service)

Hello
I'm looking to root my phone, and I do not worry about my warranty, because it expired in august 2013.
I've read hours about knox, and it's still doesn't clear for me: Will I able to update the phone via odin to newer official fw after tripping knox flag to 1 ?
If yes, what is the easiest method to root my MK9 firmwared phone ?
To my understanding - yes. You only won't be able to use Knox ever again if you trip KNOX bit...
Two ways to update your firmware: Odin and Kies3.
YES, also Kies! I did it several times although my warranty status is 0x1 and the flashcounter 3 or so.
One can fake the status to official by Wanam :good:
If you don't mind changing your knox status to 0x1 you just flash a custom recovery (CWM or TWRP).
There are several guides to root here, I recommend Ketan as perfectly to understand for novices.
As far as I remember there's a two years warranty by Samsung, so in my opinion your warranty can't have expired August 2013
Does a triggered Knox counter actually void my warranty in Germany (from the law perspective because law>Samsung TOS) ?
Are here any Europeans who tried to get warranty services with Knox triggered?

Go to note 3 forum General/bounty to reset Knox thread. There you can find many users, but I'm not sure where they coming from. It's a big thread so you have to read a lot. Me myself I'm from Europe but not yet tripped my Knox. Pure stock 4.3 running here.

While my phone was updating I just had a question......wtf does this mean xD
knox warranty - void 0x1 (2)
it comes with rooting your device. it shows that your phone doesn't have warranty any more.
i have it too but if you need to show that it's not rooted, try triangle away.

Triangle away only resets custom recovery flash counter, the Knox tick is permanent.
Once you have voided the Knox warranty, does the Knox software work? Or, do you get an error? Does the Private Data still work?

If you work for or use a corporate email account on a your phone, there is a chance depending on the companies security profile that the network may not let your phone send email on it as it will be seen as a compromised device. Again this all depends on what the level of security is that your IT department has set KNOX monitoring to. They may not even care.
But if they do, your phone could be locked out of the network for having the KNOX bit tripped.
I bought a P600 the Christmas before last. I didn't want to trip the Knox fuse so it is the only Android device I have never rooted. Having had it 18m now, I am highly unlikely ever to try to claim on any warranty so I want to root it now. I have two questions.
1. Is it still not possible to root this device without tripping the Knox fuse?
2. For those who did root tripping the Knox fuse some time ago, have there been any negative consequences of doing so?

I'm not sure if anyone tried kingroot but it works on KitKat for the Tab S. You can try it on the firmware your on now but if it doesn't work, you may need to find the oldest kitkat firmware then try again.

If you trip Knox, warranty may be void and Samsung may refuse to service it for defective units. But some say they got it services even if it was tripped. 50/50 chance

Samsung and or tmobile don't care if the phone is rooted with knox tripped.
Have a great day.
had anybody actually tried to send in their rooted edge+ for any reason and ended up being rejected because of root?
I've sent tmobile, Samsung and asurant my rooted phone. Never had any issues.
Sent my Knox tripped S6 edge+ in and it was denied service because of Knox being tripped
