Save contacts and pics - G4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

This is a Sprint phone that has the hardware issue of freezing and bootloops. The phone is stock, so no root. Is there anyway to get the contacts and pics off the phone before I send in for a replacement? Thank you.

New to the SPRINT TP2/QUESTIONS

Hello to all! And new to the forum! I just bought my Touch 2 a month ago and this is my first 'smart' phone.
I have the Sprint Touch Pro 2 (WM-v6.1) (I do have the quick fix for SMS '2016' too.)
Questions I have:
Where do I get 'apps' for this phone?
Is there any upgrades/hacks I can do?
Can you put emulators(games) on this phone?
-Where do you get them? Torrents?
Problems:
Phone had to be set back to factory due to a 'freezing' problem and lost everything except contacts. Is there any apps that will save all my saved setting so I can back up everything? aka... (SBC BACKUP?)
I also find it very difficult to forward texts to many of my friends. When I forward text, I INDIVIDUALLY have to click every contact that I want to forward to? Same goes for sending pictures to contacts. And when you want to forward texts or pics 15 times, it gets really annoying.
This phone is the sexiest phone I have ever put in my hands and just want the best out of her.
Thanks for you time, Curv
to back up your phone maybe you can use pim backup.

It sounds like she truly didn't have her contacts saved to her Google account and they were all on her phone. The only way to clear out your Google contacts is to log into the Google contacts webpage and manually delete those contacts. (As far as I'm aware right now.)

[Q] Need some help w/ syncing info from one Note 2 to another

Hey guys, the charging port on my T-Mobile Note 2 recently started acting up, so I called for a replacement (phone charging port actually ended up fixing itself on the original phone). Anyways, I got the replacement phone, and I've connected my google account to it, which has all my phone numbers saved. When I try to sync the contacts to the new replacement phone, it won't show all the contacts, just older contacts. Can anyone help me out? Also, do you know if I can transfer my old messages too? I'm not rooted either.
Sorry if these are annoying, or common questions, but I'd really like some help before I have to send my original phone back to T-Mobile. I'd really appreciate any and all feedback, thank you.
Hi.. U CANT sync contacts, nd whatever if u just add the gmail.
U need to factory reset the backup phone u have, and when u turn it on.. it will ask u some info and also it will ask u if u have a google account or a gmail.. enter the gmail, and google will automatically sync them, but u need a working wifi first.

Contacts always crashing the phone

Hello, I have a stock z1 compact and in the last 2 months every time I try to access the contacts or make a call the phone or contact app crashes making it a nightmare to make calls.
I have cleaned the cash, reinstated the full phone to factory, nothing works, anyone has a solution for this? Or an idea on why this happens? Is it the sync on LinkedIn and Facebook contacts?
Thanks for the support
Anyone?
No idea, never heard of it.
In any case, try to reset again and only sync google contacts, leave LinkedIn and Facebook away. If it still works, add either Facebook or LinkedIn and check again. If it still works add the third one and you might know the reason.
I there thanks for the idea I tried it yesterday actually and keeps doing the same thing I think I might go for a rom instead of stock. Can I do this having a branded phone?
You can do that, but I still wonder why it happens.
What exactly happens? Do you get the option to submit the data to google?
Which release are you currently running on the phone?
It just appears the damn error message of a app crash saying that the contacts application crashed and asking to close it.I am the latest version. Thanks for your help
Probably it's some contact which has some weird letter/symbol in his address. Maybe you could check all your contacts in gmail, if you synchronize it. But yeah, no idea why this is really happening.
Hehe damn computers! Well Thanks nevertheless for caring very much appreciated

Small (but annoying) issue after first Root/Rom

I just recently rooted and flashed a rom (successfully) to my phone (SPH-L710), but I notices a very annoying issue. I cannot send or receive multimedia messages (MMS). I am technically not on Sprint. I am on Ting which uses the Sprint Network. Before I rooted, I was only able to use MMS messages if I was on wifi. I have turned off data on my phone to save money on my monthly bill. Some people may find that annoying, but I don't and it's a small price to pay. After rooting and flashing my phone to Gummy 4.4.4, the MMS messages won't work, not even on wifi. I still have mobile data turned off and I'm worried that turning it on will be the only solution to this problem.
Anyone have an idea?
Gummy is really the only ROM I've used so far. I'm still a noob to the whole rooting/flashing thing. I'd love to flash to Lollipop, but I'm still waiting on the camera issue to be solved. I need the camera on my phone for work.
Thanks in advance for any help.
You need the MMS settings fixed, easiest is to use a third party text app like goSMS or textra and manually put in your MMS settings

in 5.0 camera works as long as you use third party cameras like Open camera....but you would have to use another third party app for video i forget which one tho since I'm not really taking videos at the moment....and flash different 4.4.2-4.4.4 AOSP roms to see if the problem is still there...
