Hi guys, this is the TWRP for the Huawei Watch.
To Flash:
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot flash recovery TWRP2.8.7.0-Sturgeon.img
Source:
Device tree
Modded TWRP source
Big thanks to @Dees_Troy for the help and, of course, for the TWRP source.
Do we have to rename/delete the recovery-from-boot.p file while in TWRP or via ADB?

There is a file /system/recovery-from-boot.p that, on Nexus devices at least, reflashes the stock recovery on system boot. I think the idea is that that is how they upgrade the recovery. It is a good system for ota--it makes sure the system update is good before it replaces your recovery. Usually have to rename it or delete it to stop TWRP from being overwritten.
It's not a huge deal...I am actually thinking of just fastbooting recovery as I am not very likely to change my firmware on the go anyway.
Now we just need to get one of these things into the hands of a ROM dev. :highfive:
When I try and load this I get the following error..
fastboot flash recovery TWRP2.8.7.0-Sturgeon.img
target reported max download size of 63963136 bytes
error: cannot load 'TWRP2.8.7.0-Sturgeon.img': No error

Two things:
You are unlocked, right? Ran the command "fastboot oem unlock" in fastboot mode? (Warning: this will factory reset your device)
Try fastboot booting the image instead of flashing it:
fastboot boot TWRP2.8.7.0-Sturgeon.img

Basically he is asking if the recovery will survive a reboot. I assume it does as I guess you would have tested it multiple times.

Does anyone know if there is a (new) TWRP Ver. 3.0 for the Huawei Watch? ........and a link to it.

So I accidentally formatted system and my sd card in touch recovery (don't ask) and now my phone is in bootloop because it has no Rom. For some reason I can't mount sd card through recovery and I can't find a mac tool to help me flash back to stock. Can someone please help!
Use fastboot and flash the Google factory recovery image system.img
Thanks for your reply. Can you please tell me how to do this
I am downloading the images now and I know how to get into fastboot. I just need to know that mac commands
I am unsure of mac commands but on windows through ADB you unzip the system image until you see the recover.img, system.img, and such. Place the system.img file into you adb platform tools file and then open command prompt and type fastboot flash system system.img and let it install then you reboot
Damn I have no clue man

Hi everyone !
Yesterday, I wanted to wipe cache for some reasons, and I stupidly restarted the phone while formatting cache.
Result :
-A bootloop at the firt restart, then a "Error !"
-Can't acces Recovery mode, "Error !". I tried power button+volum up, don't work.
-ADB don't work anymore, I can't see the phone via adb devices
The only thing I can do is execute fastboot commands in Windows. I successfully made a tethered TWRP recovery, but I seriously don't know what to do from here. I tried flahsing a ROM, but it didn't worked (still have Error !).
I tried install permanent TWRP (unofficial), but I can't acces it. Probably because my bootloader is locked.
So... what should I do ?
Fastboot format cache should do the trick.

The ROM is probably also damaged...

After formating cache you should've been able to get into recovery mode, if not, download recovery image from here then:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash fastboot droidboot.img
You can always sideload stock roms from there.

You need to follow the steps in this thread to install drivers and adb package first. Fast boot firmat cache is the command that you should type in on your PC.
Just a thought but instead of trying to install anything through adb why not instal a pre-rooted rom img through fastboot too. You can always wipe out root with the next OTA...
I have already wipe cache and now boots up properly but the problem is that touch screen doesn't seem to work...
Can't connect my Zenfone 2 to my pc even though I have installed drivers and adb...
Upon booting the 2nd RC build of Dirty Unicorns, I am faced with the dialog saying that the vendor image is out of date,
I have downloaded one from developer.google.com, I just need to know what I have to do to get it onto my Pixel.
fastboot flash vendor vendor.img
Which leads to the next question (or two):
Using a Windows computer, how do I compile the img file? (I could only find the binary at google, a tgz archive containing an .sh file)
Is there a fastboot flashable image available?

If you download the full image from Google there is a second compressed file in the full image that has a vendor.img file. Also the just below the download link on the forum for the du ROM there is a link for the vendor image .
The third ROM release from DU does not require vendor image flash if you're already on the latest image.
Otherwise, reboot to bootloader.
Open your command prompt.
Use the command "fastboot flash vendor vendor.img".
I go the extra mile and do two commands.
"fastboot flash vendor_a vendor.img"
"fastboot flash vendor_b vendor.img"
Though it's probably not necessary.
As mentioned above, download the full Google image.
https://developers.google.com/android/images
Then extract it, and keep extracting it again and again until you find the vendor.img.
You can use TWRP to flash the vendor image. No need for fastboot.

hey everyone,
I recently purchased a used Nexus 5x that is running fine so far. my only problem is i get the message "internal problem, contact manufacturer" after every boot.
the phone is running android 7.0 (NDR90S) and the seller told me he trie to root and flash custom firmware but somehow the boot loader always locked itself. Now its not possible to perform an OTA update to 8.0 (get it offered all the time).
According to the developer setting the Bootloader is unlocked. I read that it should be fine to flash the vendor.image. Is this correct so far?
Trying to flash twrp in fastboot mode, but not having much success. Adb devices doesn't list my device and when i try fastboot flash recovery it says that it's written something but when i try to go to recovery mode after reboot it just takes me to the stock recovery which resets the phone.
Have latest lg drivers along with 15 second adb installer installed. Running win 10 x64.
Any idea how i can successfully install twrp?
Thanks

Ok, so followed the guide from https://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/development/recovery-twrp-3-touch-recovery-t3442424 (which was in your signature)
Installation
General Howto Guide
The general guide seems to do not work properly when it comes to flashing so here is an additional howto which seems to work 100%:
I said you need an unlocked device. So ensure you have it unlocked and OEM unlocking option is enabled (see screenshot)
Connect an USB cable and get ADB running (READ the FAQ!! or the general guide above)
Boot into Android and then type on your PC to reboot into fastboot mode:
adb reboot bootloader
Type on your PC:
fastboot boot twrp.img
(replace twrp.img with the real file name you downloaded)
Then copy the twrp.img to your device while still in twrp (e.g. with a file explorer or by typing adb push twrp.img /sdcard)
Flash the twrp.img with twrp GUI to the recovery partition (choose the button at the bottom named image to show the copied image)
done.
You can now reboot into recovery again to check it has worked.
However, despite booting into twrp ok and flashing the recovery ok (according to twrp), when i restart the phone and go to recovery it's the stock recovery, not twrp.

Reboot to recovery worked within the booted twrp, just not when I turn the device off and try to enter recovery from the hardware keys. Using hardware keys and selecting Yes twice just took me to stock recovery which does a factory reset and wipes device.
Didn't try adb reboot recovery.

Didn't try adb reboot recovery.

ok thx will look into this soon.
In the meanwhile and because you mentioned it one more question: which hardware key combo do you try exactly?

Volume down and power button together. Release power button for a second when LG logo appears and then press and hold it again until reset screen appears. Usually from there i select yes and yes again and twrp would appear (when it was working)
Hi,
I want to enable dualsim on my singlesim device and for that the TWRP has to be installed. After checking many threads, which less or more describe the same steps, I managed to unlock the bootloader and downloaded an "unofficial" twrp image for the Moto Z Play. But on the last step while trying to flash it I got the error "Image not signed or corrupt" and the image is not installed. Here is the output by flashing:
Code:
D:\Programs\Minimal ADB and Fastboot>fastboot.exe flash recovery twrp-3.1.1-0-addison.img
(bootloader) slot-count: not found
(bootloader) slot-suffixes: not found
(bootloader) slot-suffixes: not found
(bootloader) has-slot:recovery: not found
target reported max download size of 536870912 bytes
sending 'recovery' (11374 KB)...
OKAY [ 0.255s]
writing 'recovery'...
(bootloader) Image not signed or corrupt
OKAY [ 0.246s]
finished. total time: 0.510s
Is there a way to avoid this error ?
Use: "fastboot flash recovery twrp.img" no quotes. I change the filename to just "twrp.img" less chance of typing something wrong.
and no the .exe you did.

I think it is flashed. After flashing the twrp via fastboot and u see that error then just ignore it, instead directly boot your phone in recovery mode using the volume buttons and look for the word "recovery" then press on power button then it booted there.

I've changed the filename to "twrp.img" and used the command:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
The output is exactly the same as before.

unfortunatly not, after entering the recovery mode I see the message "no command" and I have to hold the power button and press volume up to enter into the Android Recovery menu.

I've tried with the following images:
twrp-3.1.1-0-addison.img
twrp-3.1.0-0-addison.img
twrp-3.0.2-0-addison.img
which were downloaded from the url: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=126925
The result is the same by all of them.
Just to be sure, the image should be copied within the "ADB/Fastboot" folder on my PC and not on the device storage/SD card, isn't it ?

Yes, I did unlock it with the unlock key received from motorola:
Code:
fastboot oem unlock UNLOCK_KEY
After that a message is displayed at each start:
your device has been unlocked and can't be trusted
ID: bad key
your device will boot in 5 seconds

After flashing twrp do not boot the phone otherwise the stock recovery will over write twrp,
After twrp is flashed while still in fastboot mode, use the volume buttons and select recovery on the menu.

This is not an error. If your bootloader is unlocked this message will display at every boot.

As Fandroid mentioned, it's not an error. My device also diplays it at startup.
I've added to this post a zip file that contains adb, fastboot and twrp version used to configure my device.

I wanted twrp just to create a backup and configure my device to support dualsim. Therefore and as mentioned in a previous post, TWRP is installed only momentarly and after a reboot it would be overwritten.
My OS is the Moto Android 7.0.
What is the issue that you have now ?

As I told earlier I am not able to install twrp due to which I am not able to install custom rom. I tried many times to install twrp, everytime it showed "image is not found" as you guys said I tried going recovery but again it shows you already unlocked boot loader, your device can't be trusted then says " your device will reboot in 5 seconds" this is what my issue is.

It makes no sense then to flash it. Why don't you just use
fastboot boot twrp.img
when you want to start it? Then no flash will be involved, and twrp will be just booted for this single usage. You can repeat this whenever you need it.
