Do you guys recommend this phone? I've seen videos and all that, but I also want to have some users feedbacks about this little 5.5 inches guy. Performance, roms support? I don't know here but in Samsung forums is pretty common to ear that roms are problematic due to Samsung not releasing drivers.
In brief, I have a galaxy s4, is this phone worth it?

about the same no official bootloader unlock but does have a work around d850bl model here i like the few roms that are here personly i owned the g2 now the g3 over the last 2 years and they ed had ups and downs but over all damn good phone i recomend a otterbox and steer clear of tempered glass screen protectors i use one but they are pretty thick and reduce touch acuracy a bunch

further more battery life gaming and everything else i do it has held its own the whole way i use cloudy g3 2.5 a lollipop rom and i implented a few fixes but again its held its own
This phone is a beast.Great performance, camera but I have some issues such as less battery life and overheating.Other than that,it's a great phone.
Those are things that call my attention, battery and overheating. Is it too noticeable or is it present in all g3's?
Enviado desde mi GT-I9500 mediante Tapatalk
i have decent decent battery life im off charger about 17 hours about 5 hours screen on time with heavy internet browsing im usaully at about 40% i turn off all animations no live walpaper use the stock keyboards and all thought and again i use cloudy rom i used to overheat but hasnt done it in a long time i was on stock then by the way if u google it there are plenty of fixxes for overheating and batterylife
heck i was thinking about it and anymore the only time i feel mine get warm is when backing up restoring or flashing most of the custom roms have already takin carenof the over heating issue butnbattery life depends on you.my setup i dont face book. everything is shut off just about in all settings data and location off except when i need them even constant rebooting drains battery no task managers i manually stop apps when im done if i dont need them even predictive text and stuff like that drains battery
Here's what I can honestly say about this phone, if you are a person who's sticking to stock rom, stock phone, stay away from this phone because you cannot unleash a beast sleeping while staying stock. But if you are a person who likes modifying, taking risk, and tweaking this phone is for you. I am a very happy user of LG g3 d855 using cloudy 2.5 rom with combination of stock kernel , trickster mod, ctt mod, volume booster mod (using script), thermal paste modification, and last zero lemon battery 9,000 mah, now i can finally say that this is a phone that would respond to what i want as a heavy mobile gamer, Angel stone, vain glory, The world boss ll, wonder5 masters = all high settings with max temp of 60'c - 65'c (depends on temperature / weather / climate ) with playtime of 16 hours of non stop gaming.
very well put i completley 2nd that i havnt done the thermall paste yet i bought a extra screen and digitizer figured id wait til the day i bust the screen im a mechanic so im hard on phones naturally and itll happen one day
Your comments are pretty useful, thank you guys.
I've been reading about the thermal paste thing. It doesn't seem like a thing I'd do.
Just hoping that if I buy this phone, I can have one of those G3's that don't get too warm.
Btw, I do am one of those people who like to tweak, root, whatever the device ?
Enviado desde mi GT-I9500 mediante Tapatalk
And of course, I'm conscious that every single device out there gets heat up, but in specific situations like gaming, browsing, etc. It's just that I won't like to have a phone that overheats just by using whatsapp or listening to music.

Hi everyone, Im going to buy this smartphone so I have some questions :
1/ Is the battery life better than optimus g ? ( My old optimus g can last full a day with 4,5 hours onscreen time ( surfing webs, email, facebook,...))
2/ The temperature when gaming ? ( for example, alphast 8)
Thanks
The battery life is not great. 3.5 hours onscreen time in 18 or 20 hrs max. In games works very good and the temperature is a little warm but that's in every demanding game

How about CM 10.1 on this device ? Does battery life better than its stock rom ?
I can't tell you anything about cm10.1 because I have blocked the bootloader from factory. If you want cm10.1 make sure to buy a model with the bootloader allow to unlock.
Enviado desde mi C6502 mediante Tapatalk
So is there anyone here using ( or used) CM 10.1 on xperia ZL ? I want to know more about battery life on this custom rom
Using Cm11 you'll get around 3 and a half hours of battery, but you'll actually get better on stock based roms from my experience. I had to revert back to the stock rom so I can give it to the service center... so this is the only screenshot I have right now and its what i normally get...
And how about the stand by time when stamina mode is on ? Did you play games or use 3g/4g ?

I didn't use stamina mode much cause it cut off data but i did play plenty games (like asphalt 8, riptide 2 etc)... needless to say they did drain quite a bit of the battery. But its the same on any android device. I never felt the need to carry a portable charger and always had enough juice to reach home at night and still use it for a couple of hours... and I'm on 3g...
And how much time zl last with alphast 8 ? If you just surf webs and email, does the battery life better ? Thanks
In about half an hour asphalt takes 10-14 % of the battery.... and web surfing takes about the same in an hour.... this is of course just off the top of my head... as i can't measure and tell you right now cause i don't have the phone with me.... But u have to realize the battery life depends from user to user and from region to region... I can give u hundreds of answers but still it might not match many others' experiences! It just varies...

Dude do not go buy G3 its a piece of crap. The 2K screen takes up more than 50% of the 2GB RAM that is allocated and Battery Life its unbelivably bad. Lollipop sucks ass as well, battery is even worse than KitKat
Get a Xperia Z3 with a Unlocked Bootloader and the world is your oyster
Dude you serious? Clearly using it wrong
I get two days of battery life on stock based lollipop 5.0 rom.
No lag either.
Although the device does heat up when your using it heavily but its not an issue in my opinion.
This device gets a lot of complaints but with a few tweaks all these issues that people whine about can be fixed
Battery is great with 2 day use. Only heats up when using heavy apps like YouTube and games.
I can't give you a accurate result because I'm running CM12 with custom kernals and I can easily get 3-4 days with a bit of use.

G3 Boot loader is unlocked sorta. 2k screen take barely no battery and depends on what you use it for. You probably haven't used it for a week. You can get a 3Gb model that comes with 32gb internal.
Please use it correctly and better research. Thanks =)

Have the phone for 5 months. After the lolipop upgrade, battery doesn't last more then 48 hours (on how I use it). 4G opened 24/7, emailing, browsing, reading the news but I'm not playing any games. I was a HTC fan but loved this phone since I put my hands on it.
I'd recommend this phone to anyone who what's to buy a new phone. The screen is awesome and it doesn't take a lot of battery, considering that is 2k. My phone rarely heats up but considering that I don't play any games ... can't say more. If your bro decides to buy it also get a quick circle case.

thanks, we'll see...i dont understand why LG wont introduce the G4 in march...
Good evening all i purchased my new lg g4 today in tan and its better than expected,im just wondering what you all think of it if anybody has 1 and was it as expected thanks for readig
I think almost every member on G4 has it. It's great that you're satisfied with your purchase but there is no need to create an extra topic just for this.
Nah its a good topic. This particular's phone community is really bad tho. I have never seen a community bashing others in every single topic. You guys cant wait for root and constantly are putting down new members.
Really...? If you dont like his post, simply ignore it and move the **** on. Back on topic: I really love the G4. It has a great camera, very fast and responsive (had a few touch issues but it was fixed with a software update) great battery life when you disable gps/data when theyre not needed.
Only downside is the design which doesnt look as good after awhile next to the iPhone and Samsung's premium look but you get leather back for that!
I have had it for almost 3 months and Im still not sure about it. Sometimes I really hate it sometimes I just like it. Lollipop is the thing that makes me wants to destroy it the most.
@kidpaddle45
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I just came from a galaxy S6 in all its sapphire goodness. The G4 to me is stunningly beautiful. I was holding it next to my wife's platinum gold S6 and ooh that screen ratio is beautiful. Sure it's not the brightest kid on the block, but who needs to squint to show that off? With accessibility>vision>Screen color adjustment. I can match the colors of sexy amoled just fine. Yes, this is mine and only mine until the Spring flagships are released.
Off topic, the Xperia Z2 Tablet sub is a joke with Real condescending folks.

Sadly this is the norm for these forums. So many people are skilled at faulting someone's post and talking to them like they're in kindergarten. My favorite is "USE SEARCH FIRST! ! THIS QUESTION HAS BEEN ASKED! ! " As if no one and their grandma has ever heard of Google or has any idea that the forum search tool often sucks.
Right now I really like the phone but it has so much less support than my G3 on these forums plus so many people having strange issues like random boot loops of death on totally unmodified phones. On top of this my variant has no official KDZ/TOT file released
I've had my G4 for about two weeks, and overall I'm happy with it. Battery life could be better, but I think part of it is something strange going on with my phone causing fairly rapid drain every now and then. May try doing a factory reset to see if that helps
It's sort of a love/hate relationship with my G4. While I love the camera and form factor of the phone, I hate the battery life, overheating, and severe lack of development. I'm really hoping Marshmallow will fix some of the issues.
If they could improve the battery life, heating issues, and random performance lag, this would be damn near a perfect phone, even un-rooted. I had the G3 and HATED it. I like the G4 significantly better. I'm curious to see what they do with the G5 next year.
Mine overheats a bit, and I'm not even playing games.
Sent from my LG G4 using Tapatalk
Mine doesn't. I mean, when I play it does a bit, but it's expected.
I'm about to root my phone (I always do that, this is the first phone that I have for more than 2 weeks unrooted!!), but I do like it a lot (mainly camera).
It's really nice one (came from Galaxy S4).
What bothers me now:
1) When I use ProShot, it's draining the battery a LOT, as well as overheating (I'll check it with the DEV)
2) I do like using Google Now. However, with G4, it keeps activating GPS a LOT, more than usual!! Then, Android System shows as biggest battery drainer.
Overall, very happy.
Cheers.

It's the 'General' section so it's OK to post things like that here, I guess.
But to be honest... The title of this thread could have been more professional
I came from a Nexus 5, which I dropped unfortunately... So I was kind of forced to buy the G4 a few weeks ago.
I'm quite satisfied with the whole package. The community support could be better (Maybe I'm spoiled by my 2 years Nexus experience?!)
But I think we have one of the best phones on the market and the community is growing!
Wow. That's what I said too when I took it out of the box.
issues that irk me at the moment
-battery life is horrid even with mods
-heats up a bit and like someone stated above thats not ven when youre playing games.(also flashed heat mod)
-on screen buttons which is my biggest peeve, i dont understand why people love them and they are the norm, they take up screen real estate. i constantly accidently hit them all the time when im doing things in apps. its just my personal experience but in general a clusterFuk for me.
other than that I love everything else.

Does a reboot improve anything ?
There is no overheating, if it overheats then the device will shut down. SOP on Android.
You have some processes that generating heat. if you're shooting 4k this will happen.
If screen brightness is on max and you're doing something intensive it will happen.
@One Twelve I wouldn't count using Tapatalk as intensive task. Screen brightness level is usually around 40-70%.
The workaround that I use is using power saving mode but the display is dimmer. It is far from ideal, but this way, I can easily last the day without having my battery being drained by the the two cortex A57.

I believe battery life depends on what phone u came from. It's will be seem as good battery if u came from s4 but bad if u come from note 4/5.

Kinda the same here. Love the hardware, not a fan of the software. CM12 is coming along very well, though, and as soon as Bluetooth is fixed (so I can use my Moto 360), I'll be moving to that as my daily driver. From limited use, it seems very stable!
One major issue I ran into recently was constant power cycling. Even after 3 factory resets, it would power cycle non-stop. I ended up having to get it replaced.
Strangely enough, my friend's G4 started doing the same thing on the exact same day as mine. Both Verizon variants.
I dont get alot of the comments here. I have great battery life especially on standby. Software wise g4 has less bloatware than samsung and i accredidate that to the good performance and lag free experience when the processor is one gen behind current flagships. The form factor in the hand is good too curved back and back buttons are great and took me no time to get used to coming from samsung. If i have a gripe it could be the touchscreen responsiveness butits nowhere near as bad as some people make out.
Some phones are great to take camping because if you play Asphalt 8 long enough, the back warms up to the ideal temperature that can bake bread. Rate this thread to express the extent to which the Lenovo ZUK Z2 (Plus) stays cool under extended heavy use. A higher rating indicates that even when playing strenuous games for long periods of time, the phone doesn't get uncomfortably warm.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
Phone gets HOT when charging and even playing some mid-spec games :/
The heat can be felt outside of the back cover too

For me, AEX 4.5 is the greatest ROM for now on all aspects for the device (Great battery, many customzations, smooth and bugless).
Volte is working on most of the ROMs including AEX (there's no Volte in my country but other people have confirmed it)
(If you really care about security you could try Jaguar [it's targeted to slightly more advanced users] and i THINK most features come with Resurrection Remix)

Of-course this device has heating issue. I can certainly feel it even over the back cover. I am a light/moderate user, never play games. So, I can imagine how hot it will get if engaged in gaming.
Taking no credit from independent developers, but in my opinion the stock ROM is the best. There used to be a time when Android wasn't mature enough and these developers helped bring more options to the plate with custom ROMs. But now, it is not required. I used to be a active rooter/tweaker of devices but I have stopped doing them a year back.
Cool phone, cooler than most phones under load. Especially, cool during calls. A bit heating when using data
Got my heating issue resolved by capping the maximum processor speed at 1920MHZ. On stock room, after running 2 benchmark tests continuously, the temperature on the back was 39.8 degrees. On Aex v4.5, it touched 38 degrees.
I have noticed on my phone with different roms that some utilize or interact better with the baseband than others. On some roms my phone will run on H+ and not change to 4G/LTE. When this happens my phone starts to heat up, and I have to reboot it. After reboot it will connect to 4G. On other roms it will connect to 4G automatically. Just an observation that I have seen over the past couple of months. I am running baseband 9-00026-M8996FAAAANAZM-1.63821.1. Does anyone else have this issue?

Aex 4.5 EAS 2.5.1. Eas 2.2 has slightly more battery life, let's say 15%.

Well, first you gotta have a custom kernel which supports cpu overclocking. I've had DarkMoon and Jaguar.... though I prefer DarkMoon.
Then there are two methods to actually underclock the processor:
The first is to use a software to underclock it directly...like set cpu, kernel adiutor, etc. This is a pretty safe process, without the risk of bricking the device.
The second way is by manually setting the clock speed for the "big" cores using something like termux/terminal emulator. This method is what I used for underclocking my device. This is a very direct method, though it has a HIGH RISK of bricking the device.
Before you type just check which cores are big.
In termux shell with root permissions, type:
echo "1920000" > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu2/cpufreq/cpuinfo_max_freq
echo "1920000" > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu3/cpufreq/cpuinfo_max_freq
And reboot!
Don't try 2nd method unless you are ready to risk bricking your phone!
P.S. : You can do the 2nd method using a root browser and a text editor as well. Just go to that path and open the file "cpuinfo_max_freq" and change the value to 1920000.

Remove the back cover, let the heat dissipate. It will cool down on it's own.
My heating issues completely solved on aex5.2 after I installed kernel aduitor and enabled thermal throttling. Performance impact is only a slight bit, 152k antutu 7 vs 172k with it off, but the phone is completely cool to the touch now. It's a Snapdragon 820 thing, and that the heat dissipation mechanism is a little budget oriented in the back. Still a solid device!

Hi,
as the title suggests this smartphone is currently my top pick, i have a tight budget (120 euros/140 dollars); and the Le pro 3 sits comfortably at 116 euros shipped.
Would you recommend it? I have zero experience with modding but i'd like to learn; are the chanches of hard bricking it (x722) high? I would not be able to replace it for while.
Thanks!
At this price you can't get any better.
A few phones at this range might have a bet camera and the official support is almost non-existent, but it's beautiful, well-constructed, has good battery, a good community and it's super fast and smooth. Is runs everything without lags and the processor is equivalent with the ones of iPhone 6s Plus and Samsung Galaxy S7, 300€/400€ phones.
There are currently 13 Oreo ROMS for it and will surely be more, P included.
As long as you flash files compatible with x722, you will not brick it.
Normally, it costs 150€, so run for it. NOW!
P.S. I think you posted in the wrong place, maybe you can ask a moderator to move the topic.

My bad, i thought this was the right section, sorry.
It still worth it AS A FLAGSHIP.
why should be worth? you have a "OnePlus3" inside as hardware.
The right place would have been the questions and answers section.
Just make sure you use the ROMs for the x722 some are universal some are not if you stick with the le pro 3 elite x722 development section you'll be pretty safe as long as you're careful and read everything in the first post you should be OK just make sure and do a full backup in twrp and copy it to your PC in case of problems. If your unsure about something don't do it till you're certain you understand the guide. Good luck
Yes and no.
If you want a phone that just works then get something else. Yeah, the Le Pro 3 has better looks and internals than other phones but the software is never perfect.
Currently all Oreo Roms drain the battery pretty fast, battery life is still good but not outstanding anymore. Also there are always some other minor issues like a wonky signal, app crashes as so forth.
The Redmi Note 4 or Mi A1 are the obvious other choice. You're getting a more "stable" package but the phones don't feel as premium, the RN4 also has worse camera.

Ah ... bullcrap. What does it mean "Oreo..drain the battery pretty fast"?
In technical terms, I charge the battery in the range 20-85%, and this delta of 65% = 2,645 mAh.
That charge lasts me a week (my Nokia E71 would not last that long).
Standby discharge + some usage = avg. 0.5%/hr (20mA/hr), airplane mode overnite = 0.1%/hr (4 mA/hr)
Maybe A1 with Nougat lasts longer with smaller battery, than X72x with Oreo...
And the RN4? To beg the commies for letting me to unlock my phone?
Really?
At this moment, the X722s (X720s long gone) are disappearing from the [Chinese] warehouses, ergo the price went over $200,
but if one doesn't have to pay any duties/taxes ... it is still a bargain for this 2 years old phone. https://tinyurl.com/ydamcw9y

Thanks, i've already ordered it so not much i can do now.
Will oreo roms improve over time? Or is oreo itself that drains more battery?

Don't worry, the phone is fine. The battery still lasts quite long but I haven't gotten 9h screen on time on any Oreo ROM anymore. Things are constantly improving, you just need to spend a little time to reading the forums and flashing a new ROM now and then.

For me, Oreo doesn't drain the battery, i can play demanding games for 6 hours. SOT can last for days(and I'm using performance mode)

Don't worry. I have 8h/9h of SOT with AEX rom and Blackscreen kernel.
Just follow the instructions and get support in telegram, xda, google +...
The xiaomi phones referred are pure crap comparing to Le Pro 3.p

Thanks, do you mind sharing your rom/kernel?
After skimming throught the forum i think i'm going to flash AICP, it comes with a kernel that should help tuning performace/battery, right?

Latest aicp, using blackscreen 5.1r2 oc (latest) (and after, in settings you can set to battery/balanced/performance profiles, tweak with lspeed and than with kernel Adiutor... I tweaked my phone for maximum performance (+ battery) that's why i have only 6h hard/demanding game session)

Blackscreen is always present by default I have AICP.
Anyway, you can use almost at any rom.

Oc kernel is not included. You can find it on dev sections.
