Have you tried rooting then flashing TWRP?
Be worth a shot.
Root is not official

im afraid because the root is not official i dont want to brick my device i just got it and the root file says boot image on the root file i don't know if that safe to flash HERES THE LINK
i dont know if the root will work http://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-galaxy-s6-edge-plus/development/root-instructions-t3212573
Im flashed the unofficial root, worked perfectly. Along with this TWRP and it was smooth as well. If you are going to perform it, just be sure that youre battery is 100%, OEM Unlocked, and USB Debugging is enabled.
Even if you brick the device, there is the official firmware on sammobile so you can always go back in case things go sour.
It worked for you???

So your saying flash the unofficial root first then flash trwp in odin and it should work because again everytime i go into recovery it says installing system update then it goes to normal recovery it worked for you are you sure so flash root first then flash recovery will it be on the latest firmware that its on now??
Post your settings. What firmware are you running? Its either AOI6 or AOGD
Currently on the newest software firmware AOI6??

Yes. Get your battery to 100% then you should perform the process.
Follow the root instructions on the thread for more proper details, but it basically goes like this.
1. Charge phone to 100%
2. Enter your developer options in settings and enable OEM Unlock and USB Debugging. [Do NOT turn these off. It will soft brick if you do. Once you have them on, LEAVE IT ALONE]
3. Make sure to have the Samsung Drivers installed on your computer.
4. Open ODIN 3.10.6 [HAS TO BE 3.10.6] in ADMIN mode. [Right click the ODIN icon]
5. Turn off your phone then boot into ODIN mode. Should see a screen that says DOWNLOADING. Go ahead and plug that into the computer once ODIN is up.
6. Click the AP box and make sure thats the only box that is ticked. Then click the AP button and naviagye towards the custom kernel tar file.
7. Once done, hit flash/continue then it should begin. Should take roughly 3-4 seconds.
8. Once its done, the phone should reboot and you should see you have the supersu application. You are rooted!
9. Now exit out of odin and reopen it in Admin mode once again.
10. Make sure the AP box is the only one that is ticked.
11. Now click the AP box and navigate towards the TWRP tar/MD5 file.
12. Boot into ODIN mode once again and plug the phone in. Once its recognized hit flash/continue.
13. Should take about 10 seconds. Once its finished, you should be all set.
14. Reboot the phone if it doesnt do so already and make sure everything is correct. Then make a NANDroid backup.

ILL ADD THE IMAGE OF WHAT I HAVE UNDER THE COMMENT TAKE A LOOK??? PLEASE REPLY BACK??
What you can do is make the NANDroid backup on your internal storage, then move it to the OTG using Rom Toolbox Pro by jrummy. It would work the same.

Twrp will still detect it if moved back to internal?

ok so i would just transfer the TWRP backup to the OTG drive removing it from the Internal to add extra space back to it then if i need to restore it for any reason i would move it back to internal? and then TWRP would detect it even though it was moved and moved back?? please reply?
That is correct. As long as the directory is the same and nothing is changed, you should be fine.

I was trying to install one of drewgarens touchwiz roms. touchwiz milestone 5 firefly i believe. not the most recent one because i was too lazy . boy was that a mistake. everything was going smoothly until it booted and it got stuck on boot. I thought no big deal just go into recovery and use a backup. until i did so and recovery was gone and there was only download mode. I have spent the whole afternoon trying to fix it and none of it has worked. I tried flashing the stock rom and it as well got stuck on boot. I looked at all the AT&t relevant ones and also the international versions. so all in all is there anyway to fix this and has anyone had the same issue? i was flashing from cyanogenmod 10 m1 to the drewgaren rom btw. I can also go to download mode. I tried to flash stock but it still gets stuck on boot. log. I flashed the ATT boot logo and it did not work. all of which were flashed through odin.
any thanks in advance is greatly appreciated.
I think you can flash back to stock with just download mode + odin

Unplug your device. Hold the power button to turn it off. Hold volume up, home, and power. It should go to recovery. If you do the same thing with volume down instead of up, you can get into download mode.

Follow the instructions and you should be able to flash the recovery and continue on with what you were doing. Remember to wipe really good when going from aosp back to any stock based ROM. They are completely different and will cause boot loops if you don't wipe.

K I made it home lol. I'll attach a Odin flashable cwm, it's an older one but it'll get you a recovery, I hope. I just tried it on my phone with Odin, 3.07 both with usb debugging enabled and disabled on my phone and it worked both times. Crap keep getting errors uploading right to xda servers, I'll drop box it in a minute.
Ok here we go Odin cwm--> https://dl.dropbox.com/u/28590257/Odin recovery/CWM-Recovery-LTE-SGS3-v4.tar.md5
Newest twrp --> https://dl.dropbox.com/u/28590257/Odin recovery/twrp2.3.1install.zip
I'll add the newest twrp for you lol. Flash the cwm with odin, should work and then the twrp is a zip you can flash in cwm.
Hope this helps get you a recovery.
Remember in Odin use only PDA and only have auto reboot checked.

This may sound like a stupid question but what boxes do i tick in odin?
After your hooked up and Odin is open under the options on the left side check only Auto Reboot. On the right under files check PDA and use that button to browse your computer and find the cwm you downloaded from my dropbox. Then just hit start on the bottom of the Odin window and let it finish, your phone should reboot when its done. It will get stuck again like you described in your first post but pull the battery, put it back in and boot into recovery using vol up,home and power buttons. That should (if everything flashed OK) put you into cwm 5.5.0.4. Once there wipe data/factory reset then restore the back up you mentioned in your original post, that should get you running again.

If something has happened to your backup then you could try the stock rooted stuff here , just pick the one for your carrier and follow the instructions. :highfive:

That's odd. Couple of stupid questions on my part just to make sure, you had the right button combo, and, you released the buttons soon as the splash screen came on? Can you still get into download mode? Oh and did you do the wipes while in recovery?

I take it you got your phone working lol. Glad I could help a little. Little advice, anytime you switch to a different type of ROM (aosp to stock based or the other way around) make sure you wipe data/factory reset before flashing anything. It will save you problems in the long run.
Oh and could you go back and edit your original post and just add solved in brackets to the title for people in trouble looking for info.

Depending on which stock ROM you flashed with odin you should now have a recovery, if not then something isn't right. The full bone stock ROM should have the factory 3e recovery, and the root injected stock ROM should have some version of CWM recovery. A factory reset will most likely fix your boot loop, if there is no recovery flash the rooted stock ROM that matches your device from this guide.
Edit - Didn't see there was a second page 0_o
Hi i have the following error :
When i try to click on WI-FI button comes up the following
prevention information
the device has detected an application attempting unppermitted actions and has stopped loading. To protect your device it is recomended you reboot.
I have rooted my phone using the topic here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2258633
i had to load the
http://k0nane.info/rom/SGH-M919-UVUAMDB-k0nane.7z
file first cos i was getting an failure when installing the superuser using odin 3.0.7
my recovery is TWRP 2.5.0.0 and i am on wicked v1
Anyone else have this issue?
I had the same issue if you check the build number and the baseband version they are not the same. If you re-odin the MDL build http://k0nane.info/rom/M919UVUAMDL_M919TMBAMDL_TMB.zip again then WIFI should work again. I got it rooted after that by doing the following:
1. Load the OUDHS CWM-Based Recovery 1.0.3.3 for T-Mo GS4, via odin uncheck auto reboot and goto to recovery http://k0nane.info/rom/OUDHS-Recovery-jfltetmo-1.0.3.3.tar
2. Install Chainfire's SuperSU http://www.shabbypenguin.com/Android/Scripts/Nexus-Files/Root/SuperSU-v1.25+.zip then
3 Install [KERNEL] Stock Touchwiz MDB - SetUID Restriction Removed http://d-h.st/GcM
Between installs make sure you wipe the cache and davik cache
then you reboot you should be rooted with the newest update MDL minus the kernel lock
yes its not same the build and the baseband
Is it possible to be done using the twrp?
other recovery was little difficult?
can u send me the links i need please i just don't want to mess around and brick my phone
Thanks a lot

Check my post again, I couldn't get TWRP to work at first but it maybe i did not uncheck the the auto reboot box when I did that. Once the the recovery is loaded via odin you need to pull the battery then do the home-up volume-power to get into the recovery. I notice TWRP was a bit too sensitive and could not scroll down the list of folders to get to the zip files

You need to uncheck the auto reboot box in odin, after the recovery transfer is complete pull the battery and unplug from your computer then do a boot into recover by holding the volume up-home-power button. If not rooted follow the instructions in my post above at the very least you need to load the kernel file

So I did that with all 3 recoveries like 2 or 3 times each, nothing was working I unchecked reboot then would just pull battery after reboot and hold vol up and power to try and get into recovery. Sometimes the litlte blue would appear in the top left corner saying "recovery booting" and would just stay there forever other times that would appear and then the phone would just reboot itself.
Anyway finally found instructions that allowed said to try checking auto reboot and f time reset so did that with a TWRP recovery tar and then it finished and rebooted. I then shut the phone off and held power and vol up to get into recovery and it loaded fine. I was then able to flash the chainfire superuser and kernel you posted. So Thanks a bunch man!
Hello Everyone,
I'm hoping someone can help me out.
I installed ROM Manager on my phone, and (honestly not sure why!) but I did. When I launched the application, it told me that v. 6.0 was available if I wanted to update - Stupid me, updated ClockWorkMod to v6.0.
Well, everything was fine.. until I decided to use the ROM Manager Backup option - When I rebooted, it got stuck on
"Could not do normal boot"
ODIN MODE
PRODUCT NAME: SGH-M919
CURRENT BINARY: Custom
SYSTEM STATUS: Custom
CSB-OEM_CONFI_LSB: 0X30
WRITE PROTECTION: Enable
Downloading....
Do not turn off target!!
I'm not sure what to do at this point. I've tried VOL UP + HOME + POWER - but it goes right back to this spot. I've pulled the battery waited for 5 mins - then tried the same VOL UP + HOME + POWER - still nothing.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Jay
Don't press the home button is the first thing I can think of.
Power + Volume up = Custom Recovery
Power + Volume down = ODIN/Download mode
To get into Recovery mode:
Pull battery
Insert battery but Don't turn phone on.
Press Power + Volume up buttons and hold them until you see the custom recovery prompt in blue lettering in the upper left corner of the S4, and then immediately release the buttons. You should enter into Recovery.
I don't use CWM so I'm not that familiar with its installation, etc. But there are a few threads that go into CWM in detail.

Here's the TWRP 2.5.0.2 file:
https://hotfile.com/dl/230303459/7ce1553/openrecovery-twrp-2.5.0.2-jfltexx.tar.html
Install with ODIN.
Steps to follow........
Method #1 -
Place file in PDA box*
Uncheck all other boxes.
Press start.
When installation is complete, unplug usb cord and pull the battery.
Insert the battery but Don't turn on the phone.
Place phone in Recovery mode via the Power + Volume up buttons.
Method #2 -
The other way I've read to install TWRP Recovery is:
Place the TWRP 2.5.0.2 tar in the PDA box*
Check the auto reboot box and f time reset box.
Start the installation and let the phone reboot.
I believe the above method is method of choice, but sometimes the Recovery doesn't take, so Method #1 is then recommended.
Here is an explanation why:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=41166759&postcount=28
TWRP been having some issues, even the one people claim to be stable. Be caution with that one as well. Let us know how it works out if not can direct you to other recoveries. There are several out there all working flawlessly. Just matter of what you want you know?

TWRP looks to have worked for me.
But I can see what you mean. I no longer get stuck in ODIN MODE - but I was having issues after dropping a ROM on my phone. Even after successful setup of the ROM, if I decided to reboot just for giggles. It would freeze on Samsung S4 Logo.
Well, I have since fixed this issue:
I believe the reason why I was getting stuck on Samsung S4 Logo on reboot was because in addition to wipe data/wipe cache/wipe dalvik - I also formatted the internal_sd - this is just a theory but my internal_sd regardless of me dumping a ROM on there, after reboot would do nothing - When I went in recovery - internal_sd showed 0MB. Thus, stuck boot screen. Nothing to boot too.
FIX: Installed STOCK ROM, and KERNEL - Confirmed, that reboot works after setting up phone. My understanding is that it installs all the necessary folder structure required. Got the STOCK ROM from: http://galaxys4root.com/galaxy-s4-stock-firmware/
Then followed this root process and recovery:
http://galaxys4root.com/galaxy-s4-ro...g-twrp-method/
Once I did that, booted to recovery did the normal (wipe data/wipe cache/wipe dalvik) then dropped ALPHA ROM on my phone, along with Infamous KERNEL, and everything is great. Reboots like a champ now. -- Still using TWRP, but v. 2.5.0 - (no issues as of yet! )
Glad to see all working out for you

Install ODIN 3.07 to your pc
Install drivers for your device onto your pc
I'll post a link to the ODIN thread so you can see how it's done
Update:
Here ya go:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2258628
Please read the above thread in the link carefully.
If your device is stuck on a screen, what were you doing prior to get to that state.
First, boot into custom recovery and Wipe cache and dalvik cache, reboot, and see if that helps.
Either way, you should have ODIN on your pc

You'll be fine.
Any questions, ask in the thread after you read about ODIN and how it works.
Once you install it on to your pc, along with the drivers which enable youropc totrecognize your device you'll find it very helpful when needed.
I have, and so have almost everyone who have ever rooted their devices and/or flashed ROMs, etc
By the way, you are not rooted?
I ask because if you are, you would have used ODIN.
What is exactly wrong now with your device?

If you go with TWRP, don't use Goo Manager as that will install 2.6.0.0 which has some issues for some, as you probably know.
Install TWRP 2.5.0.2 with ODIN, which I did many months ago, and have had zero issues.
You can install with Mobile ODIN also I believe.

You'll be fine.
Any questions, ask in the thread after you read about ODIN and how it works.

I've been having issue with my Sprint Note 2 for a while. I've also posted this to Reddit and other parts of the forum but so far have gotten no way to fix my issue. Here's the link to Reddit: http://www.reddit.com/r/techsupport...nt_note_2_sphl900_bricked_after_attempted_43/
Sorry, I didn't want to type that all up again and having to deal with formatting and such.
Basically, the gist of it, from what I can gather is that I have accidentally loaded the 4.3 bootloader with KNOX and it is currently preventing me from doing anything productive (flashing CWMR, rooting, installing stock, etc). I read here on the forum that there were ways to do so, especially this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=46861777
I was wondering if there were steps for the Sprint Note 2 SPH-L900?
Any help in debricking my phone is appreciated.
Try these steps.
1. Boot phone into Odin/download mode
2. Flash twrp or cwmr via Odin.
3. When it reboots pull battery and then boot into recovery.
4. Flash this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=36388145 it is mc2 bootloader, firmware, radio, etc...
5. Reboot phone. Things get weird for a few mins but it will boot.
You are now Knox free once again but you are also bone stock.

I've tried that multiple times. The problem here is that I can't load CWMR or TWRP. At first, I assume that I'd have to root so I downloaded the CF auto root file and flash it using ODIN. Then I tried installing CWMR (after converting to .tar using Caboomi's tool here on the forum). It would reboot and I tried holding down volume up + power + home button but nothing would happen. I try combinations of that and still nothing. I flashed the 4.3 sboot.bin to get it back to stock Samsung bootloader then retried with CWMR without rooting first this time and it still doesn't work. ODIN would tell me that it succeeds but I can't enter Recovery no mater the combination of keys that I press. I'm assuming this has to do with Knox in which case I'd just have to wait for the official 4.3 firmware on SamMobile to flash it since stock 4.1.2 won't work.

I tried 3.07, 3.09, and even barebone 1.85 that came with CF auto root. It doesn't work. I can't load recovery just fine (according to ODIN) but I can't get into Recovery.
Here is the fix https://www.dropbox.com/s/s2clvyo4y6gar6s/4.3_Unbrick.tar
I promise this will fix your issue, but when you get done, you will be on MC2 with the 4.3 bootloader, but, it will boot, let you flash recovery and everything. I know this because I did the same thing as you and flashed the old cf-auto root and bricked my phone to, and I created this file to fix it and if you look in the help section, you will find my thread on how to unbrick after 4.3 update fail.
I promise though, this will fix your fone

...My God..... What ever you did, it worked. Turns out, Caboomi's file didn't work too well. I couldn't get CWMR working at all even after converting to .tar. I used TWRP instead and it works. Problem was that it asked me for my password, which I don't know since I tried everything, so I had to resort to wiping everything. I installed the file jlmancuso suggested, loading it onto SD card then flashing using TWRP, and now my Samsung Note 2 is debricked.
Your file was a godsend. Thank you!
No recovery stuck on bootloop
im having the same issue could you post that dropbox link again
So i was able to get recovery back but it wont let me mount my sd card so i cant flash anything through recover was hoping the file you have could be loaded through odin as it is a .tar file correct please help and thanks in advance.

Try using TWRP instead. It gives you the option to mount an external SD card. Also try restarting into recovery again. I had Recovery bugged out on me once.

For those of you who have bricked Note 2s (SPH-L900), I'm going to drop a DropBox link here to a folder of ALL of the files that I used to unbrick my phone. I experimented with multiple methods (and several sleepless nights). Some of them will be useful to you, not all. I have the Android SDK and Caboomi's converter for .img to .tar. It doesn't work too well for CWMR just FYI. ODIN-OC will attempt to load stock MC2 onto your phone but it won't work if it's bricked. Arc Converter is a program I used to try convert the MK4 .zip file to .tar to try and flash an update using ODIN. It didn't work. The steps that I took to unbrick my phone will be posted after the link.
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/c2bfpfdf0qbs6bu/ZiNC-BF5kf
Be patient. Some of the files are still updating.
Steps:
1) Put your phone into Download mode by holding volume down + power + home button at bootup
2) Use ODIN (3.07 or 3.09) to load the 4.3_Unbrick.tar file. This will take a bit of time so be patient. Once the phone boots up again, you'll get past the boot screen that says "Samsung Galaxy Note II" and you'll get the Samsung logo with the spinning icon but it will loop. This is normal.
3) Next, power off (yank the battery and cable, leave battery out but plug the cable back in) and reboot into download.
4) Flash the TWRP .tar file (don't try converting the CWMR to .tar, it won't work) then reboot.
5) Hold volume up + power + home button (be patient here)
6) You should see the Team Win logo. You're now in recovery. The TWRP may ask you for the password. It is NOT the passcode to your lockscreen or your Google password. I have no idea what it is. At this point, you'd have to wipe your phone (internal only) if you want to flash the stock recovery.
7) Load the MC2 stock recovery file with counter reset onto a microSD card and mount it onto the phone (play around with TWRP, if it doesn't see the SD card the first time, restart or play with the mount function). Just be careful not to wipe your microSD card.
8) Flash the stock recovery (give it time) and it'll restart. You should be back at 4.1.2.
EXTRA STEPS
If you're still interested in 4.3, load the MK4 update onto the microSD card as well. BEFORE you go through the activation process for the 4.1.2 firmware at boot, boot into recovery. Flash the 4.3 update using stock recovery. This should put you onto 4.3 after the phone reboots. You should now have stock 4.3 (no root).
Sorry for all the download errors, I am uploading to my websight right now and as soon as it uploads, I will post the URL, it should download much faster too. I didnt realize so many people needed it
I checked and followed almost every guide on the net. But it seems like my bootloader is locked or something? It always goes into Android System Recovery instead of CWM.
I installed latest Kies. (OS: windows 8.1).
Entered Download mode, and flashed chotu's recovery through ODIN 3.07, which I think is the latest. I didnt tick any additional checkboxes except the 2 which are checked by default.
Phone reboots, ODIN says PASS, and I press vol up+home+power and once again "Android System Recovery" comes up
I have tried this method 6-7 times, and also twice using Windows 7 and i really dont know whats wrong. The phone had Android 4.2.2 installed from the start. Yes, USB debugging is enabled but I dont think it interferes with Download mode.
Is there any alternative method, or any specific reason why this doesnt work?
Simply untick auto reboot option in odin before flash...after passing and all is done..it wont reboot..(reboot over writes the cwm again with the stock recovery)..... So just remove battery after it passes and open in recovery...CWM will come.....hope i helped...
NOTE- when after you done with your recovery..there will be an option in it when you press reboot that do you wish to overwrite CWM after reboot by stock recovery...select NO..and u are good to go for next time

Another method is that first you use root explorer..and there are two simple files which gives command to overwrite cwm after reboot.....just for info...... move both /system/recovery-from-boot.p and
/system/etc/install-recovery.sh to a different location so they do not get executed. I recommend just renaming them to .bak or anything you like... Some people say to delete them, but I prefer to make non-destructive modifications that I can undo.

Edit- after deleting/renaming 2 files...u can flash cwm....both should work ..

Nice of u to remember me!
When I flash by unchecking auto reboot, and press vol up+home+power, it goes into a bootloop (Galaxy grand screen showing over and over again), till you release the buttons, after which it boots to the OS.
i tried with both odin 3.07 and 3.04. same bootloop.
also tried philz_touch_5.15.0-i9082.tar.md5
If it's ur first time of firmware installing.. Then first install it and then wipe data and cache.. Then let the phone boot.. Then switch off. Go in recovery and untick reboot option and flash cwm... remove battery and this time it won't be boot loop
