can't get into twrp after flashing paranoid rom - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I flashed paranoid ROM and gapps but after rebooting gapps failed to flash and now I have no way of getting into twrp to restore my backup. Tried using lg flashtool DLL and tot but get messagage saying lg USB port locked. I'm at a total loss as what to do. I've checked SD card from computer and twrp is still there along with my backed up restore. How can I get to it or how do I fix this issue with no way of getting into google apps? Someone please help!

Did you manually try getting into twrp? Power off the phone, hold vol down + power at the same time until recovery screen pops up, choose factory reset option, select yes, and twrp should appear.
This is how it works on vs985...not sure on your model if it's different or not.

have tried that as well.
I've tried the factory reset and it boots into twrp for a quick second and then reboots back into the paranoid ROM. I've tried hitting the back button to stop the process in twrp so I can restore the backup but it will not let. I found a download for flashify that wasn't on google play and when I installed it I get the message that I do not have root/SuperSU which I'm pretty sure is because I'm a moron and don't have gapps installed. I know all the things I need to restore my phone are on SD card because they show up when plugged into my laptop I just can't get to it! I've also downloaded SDK studio to try opening a cmd recovery reboot but I can't find where in that huge studio where I can open a command prompt to give it a shot. Is there a smaller SDK I can download without having to get the whole studio? Thanks again to everyone who has any advice to give.

of course you can. flashify available on play store. If you are already rooted then you can install flasify app. and reboor to recovery mode. But I recommend a clean flash of stock kdz or tot then root install recovery amd reflash your favourite rom.

I don't have playstore. I have no gapps package

Use ADB Command from your computer.

New version of FreeGee used; stuck in CWM bootloop

I have done this before but I used what seems to be a different version of freegee (didn't have the option to backup efs or flash TWRP) so I unlocked my device and after it had completed I rebooted and then powered down. I put my phone in to CWM and flashed the stock debloated ROM. After flashing this ROM I was stuck in a bootloop. I ended up using LG Tool to get it back to stock. I thought it must have been a random once off issue so I tried again with Freegee, same thing happened, only this time no matter what I do I can not get LG Tool to fix the issue as it keeps giving me the error of low battery even though it is at full capacity. I then tried to use BC2 to flash a kdz file and I get the same error. I have since tried factory resetting, sideloading different recoveries, ROMs and basebands without boot. I have tried to use LG Tool about 50 times and it is not working. I have changed USB ports, reinstalled drivers etc, just keeps giving me that error. Yes I have set permission in the app and I am using Windows 7

Thank you, I will use that if I ever get LG Tool to stop throwing me the low battery warning. What a stupid program to not give you the option to bypass it. Surely there is a way I can do this. My battery is at 99%. I just flashing madmack hacked and lockified recovery and now I can't even get in to recovery to do sideloads. I am running out of options, my only way is to get LG Tool or B2C to work
EDIT* I have recovery back. GRR why is this stupid message about low battery keep popping up

have not tested this from cm rom but works from any stock. bytheway i have optimus G not pro
from recovery adb push rom.zip (your rom)
adb push rom.zip /sdcard/0
(0 required for cwm and cm10.2)
flash that rom
enable debugging
run lgflash tool one that supports large files or the online one it will pass the battery and auto restart in download mode there it will give error just unplug replug and retry and it will be flashed this time.

I am unsure what this is but I am interested? Thanks, I ended up doing what I was trying to do in the first place and IT WORKED
To anybody that faces the same issue:
in recovery sideload install madmacks TWRP file attached below
after that is installed flash CM11 using the same sideload
The command in adb is adb sideload (your file name in here without the brackets.zip) You must include .zip
It is strange because it didn't work the first 3 times I flashed the ROM and on the fourth it worked, so keep trying
i can fix bootloop to cwm or recovery just 2 minutes. but u have to backup your stock recovery fírst before install cwm or twrp.
so thiss step to solve after u have boot loop. that u need to restore back your stock recovery on mmcblk0p28 then reboot. you will stuck at factory software repair. keep ur fone connected with the computer and type adb reboot. then u can boot into android os. and final step. u reinstall your custom recovery again and Enjoy. this fixing not for newbie and im typing it on my fone. someone can make automation script to help People solve it im lazy

Thanks for trying to help. I am not running stock and can not get a stock ROM to work (with locked bootloader obviously)
LG Tool is requesting for a TOT file which the E988 doesn't have, I have tried using E98810D_00.kdz file in the software field but it is not recognising the cab file. The DLL file is recognised but I don't know what else to do from there.
LG Mobile Support Tool keeps failing on me due to low battery error which as you can see, I have been trying my hardest to get it to work. Battery is at 99% but it still won't flash! - I am stuch with a custom ROM and a dodgy unlocked bootloader due to the latest release FreeGee.
I tried the old file you attached but it fails to download the image file to unlock my bootloaders, I guess because it is already unlocked.
What I need now is to find a way to relock my bootloader that doesn't involve LG Tool/LG Mobile Tool and then try the old FreeGee app again. Or I find a way to get passed this stupid battery warning

First try to use LG Mobile Tool. All files and instructions found here CLICK ME
If that doesn't work the follow the instructions I posted earlier and it will get your phone booting again. As for getting back to stock and unlocking the bootloaders without causing kernel issues, I am still waiting for a response from Seth. He has been making a lot of changing as this is a known problem. The latest version is supposed to work like it used to now.

Thanks! This worked 100%. Something's really up with the freegee CWM, totally useless. Had 3 days of a headache till I saw this post. I used to be a CWM guy, now TWRP all the way...! The interface is touch based and much easier to handle than CWM. Best of all it doesn't go into a bootloop! Cheers! :good::good:

I think I bricked my phone

Hi,
I just got the LG G3 root it, Installed TWRP recovery and made full wipe to install AndroidNow rom but it is failing.
Before I wiped the device I made a backup but I can't restore it either.
I still got access to TWRP recovery.
What I can do to fix it?
Thanks.

The error I am getting is that it can't restore system. Everything else it can but hangs on the system partition.
Also when I am trying to flash a rom it says it can't open the zip file.
I tried the method which you gave me the link for and it didn't work. I am getting error of usb is disconnected after few minutes every time.
Do you have any other idea?
Try another computer/usb port/usb cable.

[Q] LS990 Certificate verify/secure boot error(s)

Hi there! I rooted my LS990 on lollipop 5.0.1 a recently and I tried to use TWRP to get a ROM on it and when I tried to install TWRP it came back with the error right after the LG logo on reboot when I tried to boot to recovery. I looked through a few threads but they all led to other LG models and not the LS990 from what I saw. I'm not able to boot to recovery, update my phone or factory reset. My endgame would be able to factory reset my phone and not worry about rooting it because it's just caused problems for me.
If there's any help I can get it would be much appreciated!
What method did you use to install TWRP? Try either TWRP Manager or Flashify from the Play Store, or push the recovery *img via adb shell or a terminal emulator app. You can find the latest *img file for the LS990 here...
https://twrp.me/devices/lgg3sprint.html
Follow the "dd Install Method (Requires Root):" directions at the bottom of the page. And make sure to never take an OTA update or perform a factory reset w/ a custom recovery like CWM or TWRP installed.

I had downloaded TWRP from the Play Store and used the instructions in the app to patch my SD card and then downloaded the latest img from TWRP and when I tried to install the img it came back unsuccessful and since then I have had my error(s).
Try using the Flashify app instead. Make sure the external SD has indeed been patched by running the "SDFix: KitKat Writable MicroSD" app (available from the Play Store) beforehand. The app also works w/ Lollipop, and can be uninstalled after the verification or installation of the fix.

It told me the flash was successful but when I rebooted my phone when it prompted me to it rebooted back to the certificate verify and secure boot error.
I forgot about the locked bootloader for that model. You'll need to first download the LS990 BUMP *.img file to your phone from here...
http://downloads.codefi.re/thecubed/lg_g3/bump/
... then open Flashify, select Recovery Image -> Choose a file -> Downloads, and select the TWRP recovery image you downloaded.

Can't reinstall twrp after accidently updating CM13 to CM14.

I've been running cm13 nightlies on my OP3. I haven't updated in a couple weeks and last night i got a notification that there was some new updates. Since it's been a while i decided to do the update so i let the cmupdater do it's thing and went to bed. This morning i wake up and was greeted with a very cranky phone. I noticed i was having trouble with any google related app, and also popups of google apps crashing. So i go to settings and I see that my phone has been updated to CM14!
well that would explain the Google apps pproblem. I was going to flash gapps for 7.0 but i couldn't get into recovery. I had twrp installed but now i couldn't get into it. the phone reboots, shows the oneplus logo then shuts off. Then i decide to reflash twrp. i put the phone into fastboot mode and from my pc command prompt, tried the fastboot flash recovery. img. it says it was successful but i still can not boot into recovery. I made sure debugging was on and I also accepted my pc key when asked on the phone before booting into fastboot mode. I realise this is a dirty flash but is there anyway of recovering from this ? i usually flash the nightlies myself from the recovery,i don't know why last night i used the cmupdater.
You probably got it going by now but in case. Which version of twrp are you trying? I would try the latest twrp-3.0.2-23-oneplus3.img. Make sure OEM unlock is checked in device manager, root is allowed as well, try an app like flashify or something that can flash an image from within the OS and see if you have better luck.

Thank you for your help. I couldn't try the flashify route as it would not install. Something about parsing the package failed. I did manage to fix it by downloading the latest twrp you suggested and flashing that. After that I was able to boot into recovery and flash pico gapps 7.1. Unfortunately that wiped out all of my apps but at least i didn't lose any of my files. Thanks again.

Glad you got it going, I see now that I mentioned device manager... No clue where that came from lol, was suppose to be developer options. Regardless, you got it and that was the goal.

Hi, did you ever manage to solve this? I have the exact same problem.
You should really freeze updates with twrp.
You now need to fastboot the stock rom or flash a custom rom to get out of this situation.
In twrp mode, attach to pc and backup your internal files first.

Flashing rom again did not help with this, the problem is in the misc partition.
