Hi all,
I have a brazillian N7100 and I am exepriencing very poor signal quality. Tried some ROMs so far but had same poor signal on every ROM I tried.
To fix this, do I need to download the official brazillian firmware for my phone, extract the modem and flash just the modem on the rom I am using? If so, does anyone have a link to just the modem part, so I can avoid a 1.5Gb download, since my internet connection sucks big time, with just 300kbs of average download speed.

Yes, you would still have 3G connection after you flash the Stock ROM (OEM). The 3G bands are Hardware related. Radio and ROMs are Software.
I am not saying this based on the theory... I am a T-Mobile USA TP2 owner and I did flash the Stock ROM form ASIA and I still had 3G connectivity on that ROM.
So Flash away...

will get TP2 for $400, plus activation and tax
will open up a 2 line family plan and 1 year contract, because it goes old really fast
and will flash it with CHT-HK ROM with hardSPL, will donate after it's done successfully
Agree with VizagDude
You will still have 3g once you flash the TMOUS Stock Rom.

I will definitely to pull all the stuff out before flashing

You are a little misinformed. The radio is hardware and software. There is a hardware part and a software part. The software (radio rom) controls the hardware (the physical hardware radio) in the device.
Yes you will I'm using a Tmo TP2 and its fine, on certain roms it will display an H for HSDPA which is 3G, just I'm pretty sure the US refers to it as 3G.
It is called 3g EVERYWHERE, but the network type is HSPA. HSDPA is specific to JUST down, but pretty much all the 3g networks out there are actually HSPA since they also support HSUPA for the upload.

I've tried some rom and flash, and sometime i meet this probleme :
- get no or worse signal
- missed calls or dropped calls
- seems to get no 2g signal
Result => my phone became a pocket android....without gsm fonction...
Manytime i've saw other member met this problem....
So after many attemp, remplacing radio file in folder system/etc/motorola/bp_nvm_default has solved my problem for theses rom :
- Rooted and not froyo chinese rom
- JBoojie Eclair or Froyo (actually running)
- Milestone 2
- etc...
It work for me, so try it !
I've made a zip upgrade via Recovery mode with my working radio file (comes from original EU Eclair rom v2.34)
Please feeback

as I havn't found the file you providing here, I've got a question: Where are the radiofiles from (US ROM, Netherlands ROM....) ???
I've got the China 2.2 ROM running here, and I've made a file check. 4 of those 14 files are different to your files, but NOT by filesize.
Those files are:
File_Audio2
File_Audio8
File_GSM
File_Seem_Flex_Tables
I'm going to get those files from a 2.34 Central Europ ROM also to make this check again... stay tuned
Edit: those 2.34 Files exactly match your files.
Yes i've use 2.34, it has solve all my worse signal issue with many rom.
It could work only with my french operator, i don't know if it's needed for all ?
Also, try this if you are european user and if you meet signal problm after installing new modified froyo rom, it work for me.

i don't try it because i found the solution by replace radio file before the ItfunzBaseBandSwitcher.apk file posted....
I'll try it with next test rom (vanilla froyo), i'll let u know
This just solved my issues with T-Mobile (Germany) and Froyo ROMS. Thanks a lot!

It seems like that is only a display iussue. For me it always show "3G", instead of "H" but when I use *#*#4636#*#* it shows either UMTS or HSPA depending if the telephone uses HSPA or not.

After I replaced all the files in system/etc/motorola/bp_nvm_default , my 2G signal is back.
I am from Bulgaria/Globul, very new in this Andro-things, but before few days I rooted my Motorola Defy+.
I also did some things that I am not 100% sure what...changing rom, upgrading and etc...
However
Android version is 2.3.6
Model number: MB526
Baseband version: EPU93_U_00.60.03
System version: 45.0.2310.MB526.AsiaRetail.en.03
Kernel versioon: 2.6.32.9-ge281b6e...
Build number: 4.5.1-134_DFP-231

I'm currently stationed in Europe, Poland to be specific. I use my Inc2 in GSM mode with a local carrier. After rooting and flashing CM7 for the first time, I noticed my reception getting significantly worse than before (And if not, it's pretty **** in the first place.)
I an attempt to remedy this, I flashed the newest .1111 radio from the Inc2 Development forums, unfortunately that not only didn't help - but resulted in a ~10db drop in my reception.
I figure that the "newest, bestest" radios (released by Verizon, correct?) are only there to improve reception within the United States, and a fellow like myself - looking to get the best possible reception within Europe - should start looking for an alternative.
I'm hoping somebody here will have had some experience with maximizing reception in Europe.

Custom Roms have different behaviors when it comes to GSM according to each Rom
try flashing another Rom , i suggest :
Andybones stock ( Based on the Latest OTA ) , it is not de-bloated , Note that latest OTA originally included the Radio you installed 1111
rmk sense ( the first release from Verizon ) and it is de-bloated
Both of the above Roms are Original Rooted firmware
do a super wipe before installing the Rom
choose GSM Only mode ( not the global mode )
if signal don't improve try
adding your carrier APN through APN settings manually
or you can Backup the APN's included in CM using APN Backup and restore from the market and restore them for one of the above roms , then use APN manager to activate your APN
Please note that this will override Verizon Global embedded GSM APN , Don't try this before trying the Roms with Verizon Global embedded GSM first and see the results
Hey guys I have a LG F180S and I converted it to E975 with half success... I have everything working fine but without my network signal. In my home I have 0 bars where my second phone is in the same network and has 2-3 signal bars always When I had stock ROM on my LG the baseband was M9615A-CEFWMAZM-2.0.12034 and now on CM11 I have BM9615A-CEFWMAZM-3.0.10663. Going to stock ROM using .kdz files isn't helping - still the same problem. I have lost all my hope in getting back the network signal Do you guys maybe know where can I get that first modem? Please help me, I don't have 132$ to spend in the service to get my stock ROM back with working signal

My only suggestion would be to try flashing different modems... I had a similar problem, although under different circumstances. I described the problem, the steps I took and the results here.
