Hey!
I've been trying to get rid of my navbar as i have LMT installed. I haven't been able to find an option in my rom to disable it.
I've tried a few different thing to remove the soft navbar on my M8, first I tried two build.prop edits;
1) qemu.hw.mainkeys=1 (this worked for the same device when running SlimKat 4.4.4 & SkyDragon not sure of version)
2) ro.show.navigationbar=no
I also tried a couple of apps from the play store and from XDA (Ultimate Dynamic Navbar & GMD Auto Hide Soft Keys) but neither of those worked either, they both installed a second navbar. and this isn't what im trying to accomplish has anyone got any ideas?
I am currently running
ROM: InsertCoin 7.1.9
Android: 5.0.2
Sense: 7.0
Build Number: 4.16.401.10 CL448934
If there is something I haven't tried or done properly please could you assist and let me know.
Thanks in advance!
Nate

EDIT: I've re-written this entire post because it got a bit messy and I don't think I explained things very well! Plus I messed up and uploaded the file as an APK and not a ZIP!
I've re-wiped my phone completely because I managed to get it into a muddle! I fully flashed ARHD30.0 & InsertCoin 3.0.5 and I was still getting gapps FC messages and apparently it's a known / common thing so I wiped the SD and everything, allowed Sense to have G+ access and now it's playing nice again! This was without even flashing my MOD! So something went squiffy!
Anyway:
This MOD has been tested on InsertCoin 3.0.5 which is based on the 3.57.401.500 ROM so it may work on other ROMs as well but I can't be certain. I did try this on ARHD30.0 and for some reason when I pressed the torch option it didn't work. Nothing seemed to happen. It could be because /system isn't mounted as RW or the flashlight APK is different or there's a file deny permission to the location where it writes the LED brightness to, I'm not sure yet but will see what it is if I get chance. It works fine on InsertCoin 3.0.5.
All you need to do is download the zip, flash it in recovery and then reboot your phone back into Sense 5.5 for the torch icon to appear and work.
When you pull down the notification tab there's a torch icon next to the quick settings button. You can tap this up to 3 times to increase the flash brightness levels. Pressing a 4th time will turn the torch off again.
I preferred this method because it doesn't just call the HTC Torch application, it actually does control the torch on and off.
I usually run ViperOne but I'm waiting for their sense 5.5 update so decided to throw this together as I like a lockscreen torch type thing!
Usual disclaimer applies, I'm not responsible for boot-looping your phone so please flash at your own risk and make a nandroid before you do!
Please remember to thank me if you think this is any good / you use it! I may change the icon / spacing as I'm not 100% sure I like it at the moment.
Cheers,
Nick
EDIT: MD5 Should be 05CB646CB469DCB0141E416B63340F30
I can confirm that the MD5 for SystemUI.apk on InsertCoin 3.0.5 is a match to 3.0.4 so this MOD should work fine on the newest version also. Feedback is appreciated to let me know if it worked alright for you or not!?
Any suggestions or different torch icons / logos are appreciated too if anyone has a better icon to use!

Sorry to hear it didn't work. It must only work on pure Sense 5.5 based ROMs and not AOSP / Hybrid type ones. Thanks for trying and hopefully you have a backup to go back to?
If not you can copy out the SystemUI.apk from your ARHD GE ROM and put it in the zip file from this thread (overwrite mine that's in there) and re-flash and you will have your old one back.
works great, thanks a lot!
Gesendet von meinem HTC One mit Tapatalk
I flashed this in stock deodex sense 5.5 Rom .install but not working
Sent from my HTC One using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Not sure if anyone is bothered for this but I've updated the style shown in the screenshots in this post. I can provide APK's for ROMs with this mod included and I know why it didn't work on ARHD and possibly stock ROMs etc. You need the following to be run in an init.d script:
chmod 666 /sys/class/leds/flashlight/brightness
I knew it was a permission issue somewhere but didn't look into it till it didn't work on Viper so I wanted to fix it!
Anyway, if anyone is interested post here, and I'll see what I can do. If you want it with the ROMs battery percentage or mine then let me know!
I've installed last Paranoid Android version because I wanted PA Colors (per app navbar colors).
I couldn't find those settings. Looking for information about this I found out that they removed these options when they updated to KitKat.
Does anyone know about a ROM or a mod that allows me to change this?
Paranoid Android version: 4.42
KitKat version: 4.4.4

Not sure if it will work with PA, but the Tinted Status Bar Xposed module can do this.

I just want to change my navigation bar so it matches the android L keyboard but without changing it globally.
I tried the Tinted status bar xposed module but I don't know what activity I have to edit.
Hey all, I'm lovin lollipop on my nexus 7 but do not like the standard dpi settings. Everything is too small for my preference. I've had a search and find threads for dpi and the nexus 7 but nothing on the final lollipop build. Usually I'd just use xposed to correct this but as we know xposed does not work on the ART runtime. Any suggestions?
many thanks
well bugger, on a previous lollipop build I tried to set dpi by editing ro.sf.lcd_density which didn't work but I've just tried again and it worked. I don't know whether this pertains to the build I was on or if it was a root permissions issue. But yes, you can now alter the dpi via this method. Could a mod close the thread?
many thanks
Hello guys. I just wanna share my humble contribution to Xz xda community.
Today i'm uploading a mod that "remove" navbar add the possibilty to add a immersive navbar like LG G3 does.
I'm not responsable if my mod brinks your device (I hope it don't do it). Keeps the ftf file near by. Lol
I'm not ready to give the respective credits to guys that help did this mod. Next step I will.
You Will need install simple control or any other softkeys program to add a immersive navbar Before apply my patch, because you Will have no navbar to configure privileges and other stuffs after flash it.
Don't use a diferent immersive mod version that your stock rom or you Will get an infinite crash pop-ups....
Install method:
Flash zip in twrp recovery as any other flashable zip.
Expect that someone enjoy it!

New release for last stock firmware:
Now I create an all "immersive" bar mod. No status bar. If you wanna invoke it, you can configure the navbar shortcut to do it!
Updated to last stock firmware: 99.

Were you actually able to substitute the navbar, or just make it disappear, like in immersive mode? Are you on Oreo?

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner

Dear 888Leander, all mods that I have tested cause a incredible lsgs tô wake up screen. Sometimes I need to force restart my Phone to access my apps. This get me a so angry.
After all, all programs take enable immersive Mode don't give me all screen space: eg: home screen and Facebook.
Note the bluebar at screen bottom.
So I prefer to apply a mod that remove navbar snd statusbar once for all and add a "immersive navbar".
This is my prefer setup. Maybe your is good for you.

Hello!
This is my first post here. I am just wondering how to use Black NavBar just like I did in Android 8. After I updated my Moto G6 Play to 9, NavBar is now white/gray, just few apps use the black one. I tried to use some apps in the store but had issues. I tried some Galaxy S8 commands using ADB, but not worked. Are there specific commands or something like root to roll back my black navbar and use it in all the system?
Thank you!
Did you find the solution? I have the same problem with ROMs from Motorola, I have not found anyone but you looking for the solution :crying:
It's just a stock thing. Sad, but it's how it is. I suggest using Fluid NG
