I read from the news that install Samsung My Knox can install another Whatsapp on the workspace so you get 2 official Whatsapp.
But My Knox is for Samsung phone. Any method that can install on G4?
Thanks

How can it be possible to install an OEM proprietary app on another OEM device? And to get, 2 WhatsApp, you can install modded WhatsApp available on internet that allow you to run to WhatsApp on same phone.

Yes, sure. I also see this news and try in my Note3 that is work.
The KNOX App is a part of Samsung's TouchWiz framework, which is not only covering the UI but also System, Recovery and Download Mode, or Bootloader. Unless you somehow manage to tell an app that's approved to be secure enough for and by the US Department Of Defense that it's currently running on a device running on the TouchWiz framework (incl. recovery and bl), when it actually runs on the LG framework it should just work fine.
You get the sarcasm?
Extracted 'My Knox' from a samsung phone. 'My Knox' can install on G4 but cannot run.

Knox is way more than just an apk.
'my knox' can be downloaded from play store for samsung phone. so I thought 'my knox' is different from knox.

Ok. "KNOX" is Samsung's Framework to create a secure environment that's connected to the deepest hardware level, so that in case the device gets altered, data from the secure container becomes inaccessible. "MyKnox" (Application Layer) is just the App that'll upon start check whether the devices eFuse chip, which is connected to the Trusted Zone and Bootloader is burnt/damaged/altered, you name it. If the eFuse is intact, "My Knox" will make the secure container available. If not, the container becomes inaccessible for eternity. So, as you can see, "My Knox" is not a functional app without a "KNOX" framework that goes deep into the system and hardware.
Thanks for the explanation.

Of course, it's possible. Just search the web, you'll find couple of WhatsApp mod letting you run dual WhatsApp on same device.

Hi guys, first I am really happy to see a DEFY section in XDA !
Well, there are many apps in Tmo(usa) defy, I have rooted it by using Z4 root.
Can anyone show a list of useless apps that I can safely remove ?
Thx a lot!
Here's a screen cap of my removed apps folder. I've had no problems at all since removing all these apps.

If anyone knew what all of them did that would be excellent. Not sure I'd want to remove 'Browser' before knowing what exactly it is it browses.
Damn that's alot!!
Thanx for the list. I would like to clean up as well, but like to first know what certain packages do, especially as I have not seen them popping up anywhere:
ArcPhotoworkshop
ArcVideoEditor
esmusica
This Kodak Perfect Touch thingy
hiphopofficial
revolver
truecountry
Is there a good way to find out which packages depend on other packages and/or services ?
all of them - use asop 2.2 custom rom

How to reinstall them?
If I uninstalled them via Titanium backup. I made a backup before uninstalling them but if I try to reinstall for example: Wi fi calling.apk via titanium backup nothing happens.
I already wiped the phone but the apps are not there anymore. How can I restore them?

can you tell us how you removed all those apps once the phone is rooted? Can't seem to find anything on removing the bloat... just lists of what people have removed.
Thanks

I thought I had it figured out but alas I still stomped.
You'll need to install a File manager that can access root directories and then delete the APKs using that.
The most popular one is Root Explorer. Try searching for it in Market.
I installed B510 from B125, all is ok but I don't find where to setup apps that have to be run at startup; in B125 I was able to do that.

B510 don't have this functionality. In PhoneManager you can setup which apps can run while screen is off.
I understand, but it's different: I need that some app runs at startup ....

It's not missing, just hiding.
I wish they would un-hide it!
Not only can you not manage apps that start automatically at boot, but it seems that apps that want to start at boot are being blocked. I've tried repeatedly to get Volume Locker and Day Bar English to run at start up but they keep failing. I've installed alternatives but they too fail to start. Perhaps it is something to do with the way they are loaded into the notification area, but it is a shame they don't work.
I hoped that if I could get the start up manager back, I could re-enable them.

I did, they didn't work either. Of those I tried, they either only disabled apps at start up, or refused to add apps that they thought should be running at start up, or simply didn't start themselves.
Open app, go to bkgn power-intensive apps, find your app and check startup manager.

Genius!
That indeed works. I now have DayWeekBar English and Volume Locker running 'normally' again.
Just to clarify the steps I took following Svigir's advice:
Start the App in question.
Click Settings.
Scroll down to and click Power saving.
Click Background power-intensive apps.
Locate the app in the list and click on the app icon.
Make sure all the switches are over to the right side of the screen (all On).

Great, it works. But that's limited to power intensive apps. If an app is not power intensive, it will no be displayed, hence cannot be activated or deactivated for startup. Right, or am I missing something?

Yeah those can be removed too.
but they are in a different folder i.e oem/apps & oem/priv-apps
i tried several ways but didn't find a way to incorporate it in the script. for now the best way to delete them is through root explorer.
again, i dont have any idea about coding. i just edited the zip file to be compatible with our device.
if someone could find a way to do it then i can surely add that too
Great contribution

Hi, when I flash the script in TWRP and reboot nothing happens. All the apps are still present. Please Help.

The zip package works yes, I used it today on my Moto G4 with stock rom, it worked perfectly. Something that I do not recommend removing is Republic Wireless, in case you remove it will give you an error in the applications option in the settings, the maximum you should do is to freeze it using the titanium backup or some other program that does the same.

It should still work with 8.1 stock rom, because package names should still be the same. Better backup your system with TWRP before you flash the debloater, just to be safe.

Now that the Q7+ is out in mass can it be rooted? I know you can unlock it but can be rooted and if so what are
some of the ways it's been done? Removing bloatware is a big motivation for rooting for me.

I have tried every method out there, KingRoot, Kingoo Root etc do not work on this device.
And have you updated Android system on first run?
The ubdate process starts automatically, it needs disabling in settings.
From box yet the system version is dated as 1 may 2018, and very agressivelly wants to update itself
It's obvious the newer system update the less probability KingRoot manages it!
An another question, have you tried to root via KingRoot or KingooRoot, but NOT an apk run on Android - but exe run from PC and connecting through USB cable?

Like I said, "I have tried every method out there". tried before and after updating no luck.
Maybe developers from KingRoot, KingoRoot etc. will find some exploit within this system, to enable obtaining root without touching bootloader
And indeed did you try with KingoRoot on PC? I tried to try, as KingoRoot didn't want to get installed on MS Win. As part of installation it downloads something from Internet, but it has been stuck exactly on 10% of progress bar.
Repeated on another komputer and the same: stuck on 10%! Have you experienced anything like this? So, how have you tried to root through KingoRoot from PC if the program can't install at all on a computer?
Hi all,
I have a Huawei P20 pro (not rooted), from which I want to transfer all data to my new Poco F3, including app data (so that I don't have to enter any logging/prudential.
I.E. WhatsApp, Banking app, Amazon, etc).
What's the best way to do this?
Using PC or just apps, I'm happy with either.
Google search shows many options but under all someone says it doesn't work or didn't transfer app data.
Thank you in advance.
Pretty sure you need root and app called swish

Like you can't lol... Adb root is probably disabled , /data/data is unreadable without root - no app you will download can acces it.
Read up on shizuku , maybe it's elevated access can reach /data/data but I seriously doubt it - it would probably have to be a custom module that spoofs itself as the target apps.
Is bootloader unlocked ? There are guys out there offering bootloader unlock for 30$ or less. If money isn't an issue and you really need data that's the only way
I forgot to mention but have you already tried huawei backup/clone app? Maybe OEM app for cloning actually has access to /data/data

I understand now (thanks to Rstment ^m^) that I cannot move app data, however this app claims it can move general data from storage and app (without app data).
Does it move files as it is on the old phone or moves all pictures in one folder, etc,?

Use app on huawei phone and follow instructions, or maybe it's as you say... Regardless try that first as it's most likely to be able to reach data , if no I'm pretty sure poco f3 already has an app for migrating
