Still locked after unlock - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

So i have this i747m from telcel, and went to the company to unlock it. And they said the unlock it and show me with another sim from other mexican company, but when i put another chip from other company (o2 and orange) it still says "sim unlock pin"
Any help with that?

It's been my experience with Telcel Samsung products that you cannot unlock them, at least I have never found a way that worked.

Are you sure its not asking for the PIN for the sim?

Yes im sure its not the pin of the sim, because first i unlock the sim, then ask for the second network code.
Now an i9300 they unlocked it without problem.

If the cellphone its out of contract, the unlock it for free

Maybe it wasn't properly unlocked? The other sim they used is from a company that is not related to Telcel?

[Q] Unlock Sim and Unlock bootLoader

Hi,
I have flashed my galaxy nexus with official google bootloader and ROM, but my phone still SimLocked.
Can you explain what is the difference between Unlock Sim and Unlock bootloader.
And how can I get my phoon Sim free.
http://media.xda-developers.com/images/smilies/confused.gif
Thanks
Basic answer:
Unlocking your bootloader allows custom OS (ROM, kernel, etc).
Unlocking SIM allows you to put the phone on another carrier.
What carrier is it locked to, out of curiousity?
All Galaxy Nexus devices should come SIM unlocked. There isn't any restrictions. It is also a pentaband phone.

That's what I thought... which is why I asked the OP who it was locked to.
Wouldn't make any sense for a Nexus phone to be SIM locked.

Possibly the lock is on the sim card itself, not on the phone. You could try another sim card and see...
When I use other operator Sim, i have to type a Code to unlock (It's not the SIM Pin) but other code of network

Does that mean that the LTE version is sim unlocked too?
It's been confirmed in other threads that some carriers in Europe SIM LOCK their Galaxy Nexus. Go pay a few bucks to a sim unlock code website and you're set.

Well since the LTE version is only compatible with Verizon's 4G LTE network. Regardless if its locked or unlocked, you're still stuck with Verizon lol
Ordered mine in Austria and had to unlock it: cost me 16 EUR: http://www.samsungimeiunlock.com/samsung-galaxy-nexus-unlock
I want to understand, why evenif I changed the bootloader and ROM my phone still Sim Locked?
what software locked the SIM (Network)?

[Q]Checking Network lock code doesn't work

Hey guys,
So I got the SGH-I747M from Bell Canada today, its supposed to be the exact same asthe AT&T one hardware wise but some slight software difference I guess.
Anyways, when I try to use *#7465625# to check my network lock status the code doesn't even work to view the Personalization Status, I remember reading on the international forum section a few people had this as well and someone else posted a different code that does the same thing, but I can't seem to find it anywhere when trying to search, does anyone know what the alternate code is to check? or if perhaps the fact that the first code doesn't work means the phone wasn't locked to begin with at all?
Thanks.

Thanks but that doesn't answer my main question of why the code doesnt work to display the status. anyone else know why or an alternate code?
bump.
Anyone have any idea?
So far my best guess is that my phone wasn't locked to begin with if the code doesn't work, anyone else with Bell or other Telus/Rogers phones able to use the code, does it work, does it not?
Yeah, tried doing the same thing does not work comes up with "Connection Problem or Invalid MMI Code"
I plan to unlock my phone via cellunlocker but I do not have a SIM card to force to the unlock network screen

I've actually been working on getting the lock status code working on my NA variant S3, I've gotten as far as actually being able to load the lock status Page but no information on what is or isn't locked because of how our NA models are not the same as the international model in regaurds to the nv data bin files.
I haven't said anything about it until now as I didn't want to get anyone's hopes up as I don't get much time to work on this. So it could be some time before I have any good results if any. I'm still a newbie as far as being an android dev.

if code does not pull up page you cannot assume phone is unlocked that is poor logic. even unlocked the page should pull up, perhaps with a different code. unlocked phones in the us can still pull up that page.
I would like to know this also. I just sim unlocked mine and would like to know if it worked. And dont have another sim to try?
According cellunlocker.net, the code does not display the lock information on the NA versions of the S3. You have to use a non-"insert carrier name" sim in order to see if the phone is locked and then enter the unlock key. I got mine from cellunlocker.net; cut my used Tesco sim to a micro-sim and boom it worked.
Code doesn't work on At&ts GS3 as well. I unlocked mine yesterday after at&t gave me the unlock code...but only way to check it is by using a different sim.

I got this phone as a gift from my sister using her upgrade. Its maybe 40 something days old....(the phone) ....Ive heard if you're in good standing with At&t (ie: always paid your bill on time...pay over $100 on your monthly bill)...you're treated better maybe? Idk. I just called 611 and asked "may i please have the unlock code for my device"....I answered their security questions and made small talk.. "hows your day going"....mins later......"heres your unlock code"...

My Experience
I used cellunlocker and got an unlock code last week and ordered a T-Mobile sim card ($0.99) which came today. After some careful cutting (I ordered a full size sim card) I inserted the T-Mobile Sim and the S3 booted to an "enter unlock code" menu. I entered it in and was able to immediately access T-Mobile.
I get the same "Connection Problem or Invalid MMI Code" when I try to check but I know it works because I was on the T-Mobile network. Somehow I my text messages and call history for today only were erased so you might want to back up that data before you try it out. Pretty easy process overall.

SIM Unlock Codes

Do you need a new SIM unlock code every time you change the SIM card?
No it's based on phone

Okay, I am specifically thinking of a T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S 3. I know from reading that T-Mobile will give out unlock codes but it sounds like they are only one time use codes.

Yes, they're one time use. They are for the particular phone that the code is requested for, they can't work on another phone since each phone has a unique code.
A SIM unlock code does not unlock a SIM card. It unlocks the phone to allow that particular phone to use SIM cards from other carriers.
SIM cards are not locked.
Only carrier branded phones are "SIM locked" to their respective carrier.
Once a phone is SIM unlocked the first time it remains SIM unlocked forever - at least it is supposed to stay SIM unlocked forever.

Actually SIM cards are locked. They are encrypted by an encryption key to prevent people from cloning them. Its pretty much impossible to clone a SIM these days. The brute force methods used in the past cause the SIM card to self destruct.
But in the OP's situation, the SIM unlock code, as stated by the quoted text, will unlock the phone to use other SIM cards. But its a one time use as in you only need to unlock the phone ONCE. and it will be unlocked indefinately.
So just to clarify if T-Mobile gives me an unlock code the phone will always be unlocked?

Not necessary. If once you unlock your phone from network lock, then you can use your phone with any GSM network. To unlock your phone visit Unlocking4free.com .Here you need to specify Manufacturer name,Model,Country name and service provider of your phone. Then you can get unlock code. This is reliable and secure.
Here for unlocking instructions, no need to pay.

Cheap, non-T-Mobile sim?

I passed the 40 day mark on Tmo postpaid and purchased my N3 outright, so I put in for my Sim unlock code. Got it yesterday. Great!
Problem is, the instructions specify that I must use a non-Tmo sim to perform the unlock.
Tmo is sort of the goto carrier for cheap sims. Anyone know of another carrier who sells an inexpensive sim, with no activation requirement, that I could use for the unlock process?

EE UK Sim Unlock

Hey guys, the only Pixel phones currently sim unlocked are the UK EE models, has anyone figured a way out to unlock these yet without waiting until contract expires or paying EE
There has been a solution, same as for Verizon bootloader's I believe. Have a look in skipsofts tool thread, you will find the link there ?
Or you can go here

That's really odd, I got mine on EE and it takes my three sim no problem.

My bad, miss read
@ your local phone so maybe?
normally to get the unlock code you have to request on the back of your contract, likely if you bought the phone second hand the seller didn't unlock it because EE makes you wait 6 months and has a £9 fee while still in contract.
so chances are there is no easy way to unlock the device (unlocking bootloader and rooting doesn't remove the sim lock they are both very different things) without paying EE or another firm who claim to be able to get the unlock codes but as far as that goes it's how much you are willing to trust such firms.
so in short if it is your phone and you are with EE, you need to have been a customer with EE 6 months (not sure if you can short cut this by getting it as an upgrade) have your bill in good standing and pay a £9 fee, then they will give you the unlock code. if you got the phone second hand I would imagine you're pretty stuck.
any updates regarding ee simlock unlock?
Hi .I got the same problem .got phone from ee and only ee sim working .all other sim cards its just says no sim card inside and after a while its says sim not supported or simthings ..n also not asking for any unlock code aswell .

I know, but mine is locked, sim locked bought from eBay so can go the EE route.
You can also use a Virgin sim card in the EE ones, I've just tried, and will use it temporarily until we have a Sim unlock.
