[Moto Display][ROOT]Moto G5 Display on Z Play[TWRP].

Note: *works only on stock*
First of all, Download-

•Power off the device and install Moto G5 Zip using twrp.
•Reboot after the installation.
•Wait for the device to Reboot.
•Install MotoDisplay Handwave from Playstore.

•Open and Enable the MotoDisplay app.
•That's it! Enjoy your new Moto Display.
Tested on: Moto Z.

Thanks for testing.
But I'm sorry to say that you can't change its colour, it's tested in Moto Z and it gives blue colour only maybe it's due to the difference in devices.

Should work, you can give it a try.
It will hardly take 1-2 mins.
Even i also need someone to test this on Custom ROMS and tell so that i can mention in my decription.
It's working perfectly fine in stock with no issues.

No, it doesn't work I have already tried. Ambient display conflicts with moto display, I guess. I have also tried disabling the ambient display.

Flash N bootloader (link on second post)
Flash rom zip
Flash update zip (optional, see here)
First boot will take much time, have patience!

It's like there is no sim in my phone. My pin code is corectly done, but no data, even the data section in the parameters is greyyed.
I will investigate this tonight (because i'm currently at work... )

Hi mate, thanks for report.
For me worked fine. Only had to add apn values. Can you disable Volte in toggles and try again?

Testing for 2h now, amazing work, smooth and beautiful ROM. Battery life seems a little bit worst than Imperium

I've installed the rom and it worked fine the first time, but after rebooting i've got this message just after the lg logo: "your device is corrupt. it cannot be trusted and may not work properly". The phone doesnt boot and i cant access the recovery beacause i get the same message. Can anyone help me? sorry for my bad english

Welcome to the new unlocked bootloader warning advice in Nougat.
Rom will boot fine.
What version of TWRP do you have? Flash again lastest version by fastboot.

Google boot logo

Hi, everyone!
I have created a custom boot logo for my new Cedric, since I despise Motorola's new branding (wish I could erase that "moto" text on the front...).
This is based on the Pixel's boot logo and animation, and it installs both. I have adapted the files found here for our device, and crafted a boot logo using Photoshop and Motorola Boot Logo Maker. Of course, this doesn't show the "N/A" text on unlocked bootloaders.
The bootanimation has been tested with Lineage OS. I don't know/care about the stock ROM, so you have to try.

It is possible, but it would show the "N/A" text that appears with unlocked bootloaders.

Yes, you can extract the logo.bin file from the .zip and flash it through fastboot commands

Can someone experienced make the logo.bin file for Moto Z2 Play?

Hello.
I've just rooted my phone and everytime it reboots, it shows the unlocked bootloader warning... I've found that flashing custom logo.bin files could remove it and restore the original logo. So far, I've tried the ones of this thread: but neither of them are working... after flashing it, it displays just a black screen, with N/A on middle. It doesn't have the Moto logo, just a black screen.
I think it's becouse of the version of the file, that file is for Moto Z2 Force. What I'm looking for is a file for Moto Z2 Play.
Can someone experienced in it make that file available for Moto Z2 Play?

It's WAY better than the unlocked bootloader warning screen on the Moto X Pure Edition! That one was all white. Horrific!
the unlocked bootloader warning screen on the Moto Z2 Play is black and looks just like the one on a Nexus 6P. It's like a red badge of courage. :good:

I can't do it because redmi.bmp it's 7MB, max it's 6MB more less...
If you did it with photoshop please give .psd file or modify redmi.bmp

No, you need .bmp file, redmi and redmi_unlocked are more than 6MB, change it and you can do a splash logo

Found a splash screen and bootloader for PE users. This is for whyred but working on lavender. It a simple Google white one.

I think i saw one but it is for rn6...try to look on their forums. You could reflash the stock REDMI logo if it turns black.

It just changes Splash, if you unlock bootloader it will be unlocked, with or without splash screen changed.
I think you need unlocked bootloader to flash this.
