Hello!
I'm from Spain and nowadays Amazon Underground doesn't work in this country. I've created an account in amazon.com (my own account has registered my adress) and removed the gps and localization permissions with permission master, and then removed the cache. Still doesn't work. Anyone knows how to "cheat" on location for using Underground?
You can try hola vpn, works for me. I watch prime videos and I'm in Nicaragua.

It doesn't work for Amazon neither for YouTube. Thanks, though
Amazon.com supports app buying for many countries, including Malta, where I live.
The problem is that when I am clicking to buy one of the free apps under the Underground section, it gives me an error about being not eligible to buy,
due to geographical restrictions.
Any ideas why this happens?

Switch your phone language to United States, than reinstall Amazon underground app and register a new account. This works for me. Hope this help.

My phone's language is in English, but I am sure that this doesn't affect the downloads from Amazon.

Guys, if you have an Amazon.com account the best bet is to use a VPN service to make the servers at Amazon think you are in America.
I use one all the timer in Australia to buy books from Amazon for Kindle as the library here is pretty limited, as are netflix and a lot of other streaming services.
Just turn off the VPN when you want to go local - you can be in other places than just the US too....

But why to do this when Amazon itself explains that the country where I live is entitled for downloading from Amazon.com ?

So you will seriously dwell on this for a large amount of time and not get what you want versus 5 seconds to activate a VPN and have smooth sailing?
Wouldn't be the 1st time something on the internet isn't right...

Downloading app from Amazon underground is different from buying apps from the normal Amazon app. VPN is not going to work. The app check for the language setting to determine the location. Switch the language ,reinstall the app and register a new account inside the underground app. Don't switch back the language if you want to use the underground service.

Just to prove you wrong, I tried what you have proposed.
Activated the US server through Tunnelbear, made a test to be sure that my IP is set correctly at the Usa and then I logged in at Amazon com
Still didn't work. Any more comments wise guy?

Then the settings in Amazon is set to the wrong region... It's easier to alter those from a PC than a phone as you'll have to look for your Amazon region settings in your account...
Setting language doesn't do a thing... It is a specific setting in Amazon account...
You may need the VPN to access your American Amazon account after you have fixed this issue however as it will send you to the reginal Amazon if you try to go there without a VPN set using your phone...
Just a word from the wise...
Ok found the solution.
And of course it didn't have to do anything with VPN, changing phone's language etc
At the settings of the Amazon account, at the 'Manage your devices' page, I changed that to an address in USA and all options for downloading were activated.

Not sure, but I'd say VPN, but it's more trouble and costly than it's worth. And I always feel like the VPN servers are snooping at what I'm doing. :-D

Register on unblock-us for a one week trial, change your DNS with the ones provided and then, if you thinks it's worth it, pay for an annual subscribtion ( as I did ). And honestly is worth every single cent, since I can also stream HD videos on my PS3 ( using the Netflix app ) with no glitches or interruptions.

Hi! Like Stocaprimo said, you can try the service for free first, just go to their website, unblock-us. I tried for maybe 15 minutes just to see if it really worked and was very happy with it, I could watch Netflix on apple tv for the first time and on kindle fire too and it's only five dollars a month, I changed the DNS on my router (netgear)with the one they provided and now all the computers and tablets plus iPads work great, it's like we were back in the US. Hope it works for you.

I was facing similar problem as I am a big fan of US netflix but when I moved to sweden, was missing it. Then I tried various options to get access and thank God an expert suggested me unotelly. It is a DNS service, now I can get access to netflix, hulu and rest of the popular US channels without any glitch. try their free 7 days version and you will love it for sure. If you need any help, just let me know I will assist you to install it.
As title states. My wife is from China, I have been there twice before. First time was for two weeks, second time was 6 months. Now we are planning on going back for a year. I am well aware 99% of social sites are blocked in China, FaceBook, Gogole+, Youtube, Twitter, etc.
However what I dont know is if Modern Combat or any online capable games are playable online in China. My gut tells me it is a high probability that it will be blocked without using a VPN of some sort.
When I was there last time I was able to access FB and other social sites via alternate means, VPN. However just curious, if anyone can tell me for certain it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Hey Guys,
I am an active member of kodinerds.net (German Kodi community) and the users Sandmann and dimbo developed a Video Wrapper to launch a stream with the official Amazon Instant Video App from within kodi.
So basically a Wrapper app is started to launch the Amazon Instant Video app and parse the url of the stream to it.
Updated Wrapper with FireTV2 Support
And It works great

When you choose a movie or TV episode from the amazon instant plugin of kodi it will open the amazon instant android app on your device to play back that episode.
The important point is that you are able to to it from within kodi so no need to close kodi open amazon instant search for a movie an play it

Yes. I considered that immediately (although in my case I keep only a prepaid that currently has $20 bucks.) Too easy to order stuff and got tired of reporting accidental purchases to amazon.
Use at you're own discretion I guess but my gut tells me the password AND email are encrypted once entered. Under that in settings theres an option to "store credentials" and it explicitly says it's unsecure. The way I understand it is this is just a more sophisticated shortcut to prime. Probably worth investigating if you have a CC attached.

Hi guys -
I am switching back and forth between my old Nexus TV and Fire TV because ZDF or ARD apps aren't available in the Amazon US region.
The stuff that comes up when googling is fake, not for Amazon devices and requires Google Play services.
If anyone could make the APKs available I'd be most grateful.
Thanks!
Might be pointless. I could imagine there is a regio block...just my two cents..
Try a vpn that simulates Germany as your location.. It's worth a try..

Wow, You're the best rainman!
So ZDF (most important...) seems to work just fine.
ARD aborts with an error "You don't own this app", which kind of sucks, but oh well... I guess I'm going to watch more Heute than Tagesschau
Region-lock - The apps and programming is available in the Google App store and runs just fine on the Nexus Player (or in web browsers). It looks all good besides some Amazon nonsense enforcing ownership of the free ARD app. Does anyone know an easy hack-around? No big deal if not...
Cheers!

Really appreciate the help with this!
Unfortunately, I keep forgetting that anything in the US Amazon AppStore is US only.
Amazon enforces this by checking which country the Amazon account is based in so using a VPN for any of these type of US-only apps is useless.
Unless there's some workaround I'm unaware of, I would have to log out of my current Canadian account and create a dummy US one just to watch Discovery.
Oh, and it seems they also check if you actually "own" the app before letting you run it.
