Preferably not Ebay as i hate it but If that's the only place i guess i must. Now I have checked ebay but the ammount of Galaxy Nexus S Screen's that are on there it didn't seam like anyone would have any replacement screen's... could be wrong though! Any help appreciated

You broke the screen already!? What happened?
You not going to tell me that you didn't insure device worth 500quid?

ill admit that this is the first phone ive had that i DID insure !
What happened? ... How is broke?
I was wondering how long it would be before someone killed one. I very much doubt you'll have any luck sourcing a screen for one this soon after it's release, your only choice might be to contact Samsung regarding repair I'm afraid.
Haha, yep I broke the screen. Well I've cracked it any whoo. Still working perfectly fine . I dropped it yesterday when I was walking to work. Landed right on a curb....
Yeah I didn't insure it, never dropped the previous phones I've had, this ones a slippery bugger though.
I didn't think there'd be screens out yet, I'll keep my eyes posted for some. Anyone know any decent sites to check?

There wont be any replacement screens out for quite a while im afraid, maybe 6 months or more as this is such a new phone and all available stock will be going to make the phone itself or held by samsung for repairs. As mentioned before your only option if you want it fixed is to send it back to samsung for repair or claim under your contents insurance if you have accidental cover.
Mark.

do you have accidental damage on your home insurance? might be worth checking if they will cover you that way. All my gadgets are covered this way, whether inside or outside the house.
God know's ha, I'm currently living at my mother's so no idea if she has or not! Ahhh well, as i said i didn't expect there to be any screens. I can still use the phone, and at the moment can't be arsed with the hassil of ringing all these place's to check if they will replace it. Thanks anyway's guys, Got a perspective from it if anything .
Did you pay for it with a credit card? You may be covered for accidental damage eg barclaycard:

Buy eligible goods worth over £50 with a Visa or MasterCard credit card and they will be protected against accidental damage, loss or theft for the first 90 days, subject to an excess of £50. If any of these occur in that period, you should notify us within 45 days of the incident, and the police within 36 hours. You're covered for:

You might want to look into a warranty like square trade. I was looking at insurance options myself and square trade seems to be the best. They allow you to buy insurance for a phone that is up to 30 days old. It might not be the most ethical thing to do to buy it for an already broken phone but they wouldn't offer that service if it wasn't profitable for them.
The plan is not cheap, and there is a deductible for replacement but it beats having a broken phone for 2 years.

I am shocked . 500 quid phone barely a couple of weeks old and you can't be arsed to get it fixed? I would have literally in tears!
i saw on eBay it has already full housing.
The only parts site I know of is cnn.cn.
It doesn't look like they have anything for this phone right now though.
Well it isn't that bad. I can still use the phone perfectly and only notice the cracks when the screen is off. I can't get hold of a screen and am not dealing with insurance company a cause I feel them to be a majour pain in the arse. No point in getting worked up over something I can't change . I'll buy a screen when I find one online. Thanks for all your options though

I'll be going to china on december 7-8 and 14-16, i'll check it out for you, i'll look on the 7, and let you know, and if the price is ok, you can paypal me and i'll buy it on the dec 14, at present i'm searching for white nexus s battery cover for members in this forum.
dont expect the screen to be cheap, i remember the nexus s screen cost approximate USD 120 when the phone was first released.
I have had my Galaxy Nexus for 5 days, and have also cracked the screen.
Problem is I have no idea how it happened. Phone was fine this morning when I set out for work and put it in my trouser pockets. But when i got to work and went to use it there was a huge crack across the screen, about at the point where the curve starts.
So i thought i would try my luck and see if I could get it replaced under warranty, as i had not dropped it or damaged it in any other way, so felt it was a manufacturing defect. Unfortunately I had no luck. As far a Phones4u (Where ig got it from) are concerned a cracked screen is accidental damage, so i will have to pay to get it repaired.
Then they quoted me a cost of £40-£70 for the repair, with the final cost inside that range depending on the amount of damage they had to fix. Now if the fix comes in under £70 i will be extremely happy. When i broke a Galaxy S screen it was £70 for the part alone, so under £70 for the part and fix looks like a good deal, so i accepted thinking i would get nowhere with my warranty argument.
I am waiting for the catch as currently it sounds too good to be true, as i was expecting something closer to £200. I will let you all know how it goes.
Pics or it didn't happen
telepathically sent with my Galaxy Nexus which is being imprisoned by FedEx
pics
same thing happened to me, dropped from 2 feet onto linoleum.
still very usable, only somewhat annoying. guess i will wait a few months for replacements to appear. in the meantime i am ordering a case. also just want to say i have never dropped and broken a phone in my life before this.
I've owned my Galaxy SIII for almost three months now and it probably has the most defects out of any phone I've ever owned. The hardware buttons are loose, the back cover doesn't stay down on all the corners, and the back cover came with hairline cracks already on it. However, the final thing that really made me consider getting a replacement is the fact that the back cover doesn't even hold the battery in all the time. When I set my phone down on a hard surface without being extra gentle, the phone turns off. I temporarily solved this by putting a folded up piece of paper under the battery cover to keep the battery in better, but I don't think this should be necessary for a $200 flagship phone. I'm already over the 30 day return period, but would these reasons qualify for me getting a replacement phone under warranty?
I have 0 defects. My phone costed 549
Anyways call sammy and send it in for warranty
Yea I'd get a new one I paid $649 for mine and its perfect no problems at all!

Lol this is still by far the best phone I've ever owned, but it doesn't make up for bad quality assurance on Samsung's part. I'm going to get this replaced and hope the next one I get still underclocks and accepts kernels as well as the one I have now.
Yeah man, get it replaced. You got a dud. No issues I haven't caused myself here.

Sorry for being blatantly sarcastic but loose buttons, cover not seating properly, battery falling out, and cracks? Obviously it was damaged. Before you got it. Pretty sure I'd return a TV with a cracked screen right away before stating it was the worst build quality of any TV ever due to dead pixels and screen flickers and the picture going wonky. I mean, come on man lol. Those defects absolutely would have qualified.. had you reported it right away.

I agree with the group consensus; is there any reason you're reluctant to bring it back? Do you feel guilty about dropping it or something? If not you should be on your way to the store and hope the phone gods have mercy on you since the 30 day return period is over.

Since you're pass the warranty buy a new back cover or a case like an Otter commuter, it will keep the battery and button in place...btw still dont get why you didn't exchange it if it came with a cracked back. Lets see pictures of all these defects!
Wow, I did a COMPETE work over on my phone when I was getting it, checked EVERYTHING, the sales rep was getting a little agitated, but I ask her, if she were spending $500+ on a phone wouldn't you check everything? She shut her pie hole quick, and had her get another one once. Oh well.
Unlike some of you, I actually have enough hand-eye coordination skills to keep my phone in my hand. Cases are bulky and for the clumsy. I am still under the one year warranty and the hairline cracks are only visible from one specific angle. They're really not bad defects, but they just add up and get annoying. I'm only asking if this is worth getting my phone replaced because I don't want to restore to stock for no reason.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda premium
....... again..... if it had these defects.... and they've "added up" to become annoying.... why exactly did you decide to wait 3 months to try to do anything about it?
And if you think that cases are "bulky and for the clumsy"... then the only cases you must see anywhere are OtterBox Defenders and such. Did you ever hear of TPU? next to no bulk added to the phone (about as thick as a DVD... roughly), and gives the phone a bit nicer feel in the hand. Plus makes it a LOT less slippery than with no case at all. I've never dropped a phone either, but i'm not the type that's willing to risk the off chance that something DOES happen that a little bit nicer grip could have prevented.
The only "issue" (if you can even call it that) that i have with my phone that you are also experiencing is the loose volume/power button... which i'm pretty sure EVERYONE is experiencing. They aren't screwed into the phone in any way. They are slotted in, as they are for just about every phone. Yes, they're slightly loose, but it's not like they're ever going to just up and fall out of the phone.
At this point i'm tempted to ask if the hairline cracks you speak of are actual cracks or if you're just seeing the brushed finish of the back of the phone (assuming you have the Pebble Blue)
Still... why did you wait 3 months? Especially with the battery issue and such. I can toss my phone onto my bed, cover or no cover, and it doesn't shut off cause the battery popped out of place.
I've worked in the wireless industry for over 10 years I've yet to see anyone keep a phone out of the box with parts literally falling off and out of the phone. Hell I've never seen that at all for that matter. I can guarantee you've dropped that phone and I doubt that stuff happened out of the box. You may be in the on year warranty but if it has that sort of physical damage good luck getting it replaced.

Hi, I have the Assurant Premium Handset Protection (PHP), which was required when I got my S4. It apparently is covered, although it looks like a $175 deductible is in place. Anyone have PHP and have cracked their screens? Curious about the process.

When you get sorted purchased a Urban Armor Gear case and Tech Armor Ballistic Glass. Tempered glass costs $15, looks way better than regular screen protectors and will take the hit for your screen if you drop it.
Just got my replacement yesterday. ..next day service. They sent me a brand new sealed replacement, and I now have an extra charger, spare battery, and headphones. All I have to send back is the phone itself. I'm even keeping my extra back cover. Also had the 4.3 mk2 Knox bootloader...did the OTA update to 4.4.2/nb4 modem...haven't re-rooted yet.

They tried to tell me that PHP is required too but that was just a sales pitch. They make profit from selling that insurance. I'm using the warranty provided by my credit card and have a really low deductible of around $25. The next day replacement does sound like good service though.

I got a Note 3, which pretty much improves upon everything of the S4, but is really stretching the limits of how big a phone I can deal with. I never dropped the S4 or S2 out of my hand, but I feel like I'm on the verge of it a lot with the Note. So I ordered an S4 glass lens replacement and am going to attempt to fix it myself for cheap. If I succeed, I'll probably return the Note and stick with the S4, but I'll miss the Note a lot. Hopefully I can pull it off. If I fail, I've got the Note, which is otherwise incredible. So for $6 I may be back running with the S4 or I could sell it to offset the price of the Note.
So just getting the black 360 2 days ago, I was asked if I wanted the protection plan offered by Best Buy. I gave it some thought and still not sure.
Seeing as its a watch, more probably to get hit or damaged, the screen shattering or issues with pixels, battery loosing the ability to hold a charge sooner, etc.. for 2 years they'll give you a new replacement.
Did anyone decide to get the plan? Share your thoughts as to why you did or didnt. Is it even worth it?
A warranty like this is basically a gamble that you'll use it. If you do, then you win. If not, you lose. I tend to steer clear of this kind of warranty unless I think there's a high possibility that I'll use it.
In this case, the watch will almost certainly be obsolete (meaning, no longer sold) or otherwise unavailable within that two year period. Once that happens, it means purchase price refunded if I run into any issues or anything I can no longer live with (like the battery no longer holding a full day's charge -- something that is also likely to happen after 700+ daily charges over two years). That's $250 plus tax toward the purchase of whatever the current model would be at the time.
That makes the warranty a little more desirable, since it gives me an out if I run into a "Galaxy Nexus" scenario, where the 360 wouldn't be upgradable to the next version of Android Wear, or otherwise becomes unusable. For that reason alone, I purchased the warranty.
how much was it? what plan did it fall under?

The Best Buy plan offered for this doesn't include damage. It's essentially just an extended manufacturer warranty. Screen damage wouldn't be covered. For something like that I would (and did) go with SquareTrades accidental damage coverage. Can find a coupon for 40% off on ebay that brings the price to around $40 for 3 years coverage. Well worth that in my opinion.
Still difficult choice as the accidental damage would probably have a higher probability of occuring, but yet the BB extended protection would be nice if the 360 isnt supported 2yrs from now and then the $ can go towards a new wearable, which at that point would be more advance and similarly priced.

No no nooo. I work at best buy and the protection plan DOES include accidental. It also includes water damage and screen breakage. Not complete water damage (swimming with it on) but say if something spills on it or if it breaks after being rained on.
I definitely did get it, granted, I did only payed $20 for the 2 year protection.

Sorry but you're wrong and it's been discussed at length on reddit. The only plan offered for the 360 (or any smartwatch) is the standard protection plan. Easy to see by simply going online and adding a watch to your cart, the geeksquad protection option pops up immediately with the standard plan as the only option.

I can confirm this. Just checked my receipt (bought in store) and the protection plan is GSP-R which does NOT cover accidental damage.
Thank you for the heads up, I just canceled the plan and will be going with squaretrade. They are cheaper anyway with the 40% off coupons that are floating around.
I bought the securranty.com warranty that covers everything with no deductible for claims. Covers accidents, water etc. With coupon it's around 50, so a little more expensive. I have used them before and they take care of problems fast.

I'm curious about this as well, although I would assume the cracked back would be covered. Thinking about buying the Moto 360 from Best Buy mainly for their protection plan since the back will probably end up cracking on mine due to my skinny, girly-man sized wrists.

ya the Guy at my BB told me the same thing, his weekend i'm going to go in and see if i can replace mine. I'll post when i find out
I bought my watch at Best Buy as well. I was specifically told told that their protection plan did not cover accidental damage, like screen cracks or water damage. I had no intention of buying it, so I didn't ask for details. Bought a SquareTrade warranty that was $40ish, is for three years, and has no deductible. Easily the best deal available.
Im so frustrated right now with this phone. Yesterday i was sitting on a bench with a couple friends and when i stood up the phone fell from the bench where i had it resting. The bench itself is only a 1-2 feet tall! and when i picked it up, the screen on the edge has cracked
the phone has been in a case since day one (spigen ultra clear hybrid case ) and it wasn't even a hard fall or from any big height!! so i ask myself how strong is the gorilla glass 4 really that it would crack from that height?
I just bought the phone last weekend and i have insurance on the phone but they're saying i need to pay an additional $175 for a replacement? Ive already paid off more than half the phone off, paying that 175 is like buying the phone outright. it just doesn't make sense to me.
any ideas how i can get this fixed? i think paying them an additional $175 on top of the $8 they already get from me is ridiculous. i could put those $8 apart and buy a whole new phone with what i've paid them.
It's obvious you're quite emotional still, over this episode. The trauma of an expensive new phone, losing most it's value in less than one second is disheartening, especially when it's due to your own fault..
Because of this it's clear that your emotions have clouded your rationale..
Are you really saying that paying $175 for a ~$800 replacement phone is not OK?
Wouldn't the $8/month insurance premium be irrelevant here since, you just bought the phone last week?
Although, this too is an irrelevant point, concerning insurance coverage, I thought it was interesting that you've, again, had it only one week, yet you've already paid half the phone off? Was this by choice or was your credit less than ideal for T-Mobile?
And l saved the best for last, is it safe to assume you had zero knowledge that a $175 deductible is required to be paid on any insurance claims, at the time you agreed to pay $8/month for insurance?
