Dear XDA-ers
I can't send Texts (sms) if I use international format with "+" sign, however if I use 00 instead of "+" then I can. Anyone has any experience with this. SMS Center and all settings are correct and have been googling a lot...
Would locking of bootloader would mean anything, I don't recall this problem while bootloader was locked, or I removed too much bloatware...
Any clues ?

Any ideas why + is replaced with 010 (IDD prefix Japan or US ??), but can't find how / where to change it...

According to it, it says 00 is international format.
So maybe + for mat is obsolete now...

It's not obsolete. HTC HTV31 J is Japanese phone, exit country code in Japan is 010 and that's why messenger replaces + with 010. Europe/US have 00 for exit country code.
Interesting part is that Dialer doesn't do that mistake, looks like dialer picks conversion from the operator, while SMS messenger gets information somewhere from rom. By the looks of the problem; won't be easy to solve.
I was hoping using CDMA Tool or CDMA Workshop to try to change IDD or whatever IDD is composed of.

B3 and 128gb micro sd problems
Everytime I put my sd Card into phone start to reboot randomly, sometimes after a minute and sometimes take more time but eventually it reboots from nothing.
Tried same sd in my old B2 and works perfect, also tried other sd in B3 and all ok.
Formated in windows and android but srill same problem...
Any help is appreciated.
I'm planning to HTV31 J Butterfly but I hate the shutter sound.
Rooting the phone might enable me to remove the corresponding file.
I heard that this will make the phone lose OTA function afterwards.
Is that true and any suggestions?
Removing au/KDDI from phone?
I recently bought a rooted HTV31 and want to remove the Japanese carrier apps. Is there a list out there of those apps from au/KDDI that can be safely uninstalled?
Also, I have tried using Titanium Backup with superuser access to uninstall some au apps but whenever I reboot, those apps are still around. Anyone knows why?
Any help is greatly appreciated!

Did you have such errors while flashing a zip file before? If yes then there are issues with your recovery, return to stock,
Else make sure the update file is on the root of sd card/ internal memory not inside any folder.
Thanks

Thanks for the reply! I've never flashed any zip file before cause I bought the phone rooted. How can I assign the download location when HTC doesn't give me that option?
By the way, I checked with the seller and he/she said I can't update to the latest HTC firmware with the rooted phone. Is that right?

That's correct. You'll need unmodified software in order to update via OTA. If you don't already have a backup of a stock ROM, then your best bet is to use a RUU, update to the latest version then back it up before rooting. It's a hassle but it's the only way until people create custom/flashable ROMs for the latest versions.

Let me just rephrase that to check if I understand. Correct me if I'm wrong please (still very puzzled by all the terminology and processes but I'm reading up!)
If I want the latest version of HTC firmware via OTA, I should:
1. Unroot my phone (I assume I can do this through SuperSU) OR flash a stock ROM using TWRP (would a factory reset work or would I lose s-off or something?)
2. Install the OTA update
3. Root using your rooting guide
Else I can just wait for a flashable ROM of the latest version.
Did I get that right?

Do not unroot, cause I have had old experience and ota did not work until i reflashed the stock rom.
So reflash stock rom then follow steps 2,3 as you said in your post.
You can wait for someone to make the latest rom so that you can flash but its entirely up to you.
Search google you can easily find more about s-off, and they will give you an idea what leads to you loose them.
Its way better than I write everything here.
Thanks !

You just need to 1.} right click on the program for flashing then 2.) click on properties then 3.) set the compatibility to Windows XP XP3. 4.) Then click Apply It then 5.) Run Again. Wooolaaaa... You're set and done....

I know I'm not the owner of the files but I've made it for easy use sir. Have you seen any rooting tool with cwm installer for lu6200 combined in just one application sir? I made that. Have you seen a downloadable pdf tutorial for customizing the lu6200 sir? I also made that. Credits are all posted on the tutorial FYI. I'm not like the others who just add apks to already built roms and claims they compiled their own roms from scratch.

How many times will I tell you that I do not own those files and the tutorial? Do you know how to back read? You're the one that keeps on insisting sir. Have you checked the files yourself sir? The tutorial came from gfan and thinte and I converted them to english to be more understandable for all users and compiled them for winxp and win7 users. The tutorial on the first page is the english tutorial I made. And did I asked for the thread starter to give credits to me? NO! Lahat ng nababasa mo sa first page at sa compiled pdf tutorial ay english version na gawa ko. Pati ang rooting tool at cwm combined na application ay program ko. Nakakaintindi ka ba sir? I told him to delete the thread cause I know I have the right and it's my own english tutorial cause other users from tipidcp are very rude and indecent. But I already told him thats its fine to reupload the files and keep the tutorial as is. Have you read any post from me making myself excellent or outstanding? Yes this site is made for sharing and not asking for donations.
Let us not make this a big deal. Kababayan pa naman kita.
It's true he has the right to ask for deletion. He created a software for easy rooting and injecting cwm. I just shared it here, if you looked at the original thread you'll see a lot of stupid replies. And i think thats why he's being protected. In fact i would've deleted this thread already if I checked my inbox a week ago. Im so thankful he changed his mind. This thread is for helping people.
He bring back and updated the thread on tipidcp. Will update here too pretty soon. I just dont have my laptop.
Well then, thank you for allowing him to retain this thread. That's All...

would flashing the firmware found on the first page- LU620166_00.kdz- allow you to use DMB TV and keep root/CWM/have everything working as it should (eg working SMS)?
in other words, is that firmware considered a ROM based on stock FW or would flashing that file be the same as going through an official update (ie is flashing that file the same as unrooting it)?
Hello, you guys. I'm hoping you could help me out. I need help with restoring a stock rom, or firmware for my Huawei Union Phone. It's running on EMUI 3.1. I rooted, (KingUser, Kingroot) removed some simple bloatware mess and restarted in to the Black Screen of Death after the LG symbol disappeared at boot up. I downloaded the firmware but, I don't know where to put it on my sd card so it can restore its self. I've tried restoring it from the menu after pressing Volume + and Power all together and doing it through Restore mode by using Volume + and Volume - and Power button at the same time. Still no restoration of the file. I've also extracted the file and placed the extracted files and the original zip to the root of my sd card. I even tried a video to help me out and still no luck! I've only had this phone for a day! Please, if you can, help me out with anything.
Hello, I'm wondering if you had any success with this. I have a Union Y538 that has gotten stuck on the Huawei logo at boot after I rooted the device. I can access all of the recovery areas, but I'm not sure where to find the firmware. According to another article about the G510 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2401285), the proper location is sdcard/dload/update.app. I found some kind of image file associated with the y538 on the emui site, (http://emui.huawei.com/en/plugin.php?id=hwdownload) but I'm not sure what to do with it now. With the extracted package in the dload location, booting with Vol+ and Vol- held now gives me a screen that says "install failed". Any further advice would be appreciated.
I have a similar situation. I rooted with Kingroot, but lost root trying to switch to SuperSU with SuperSuMe. Now I can not re-root with Kingroot, so I want to reflash.
The EMUI site you're looking at does not have the "firmware" image file we need, it seems to have a source code package...
For other Huawei/EMUI phones you will find firmware image files...
PLEASE Let us know if you find the right firmware for Y538

Ah, for example, this site http://consumer.huawei.com/us/support/downloads/index.htm does have firmware for some of the older or more popular models, notice that a typical complete firmware file is 1+GB.

Guess I will provide a step by step tutorial on how to restore your phone. This costs around ~$15 to do, but fixes your phone. I had my phone stuck on fastboot(100% unbootable) and fixed it instantly.
Firmware: http://depositfiles.com/files/0eghcq2tg
DC-Pheonix: https://forum.dc-unlocker.com/forum/modems-and-phones/huawei/155916-dc-phoenix
Download firmware and DC-Pheonix. Buy 15 credits on https://www.dc-unlocker.com/buy and you will get a email with your username/password.
Load up DC-Pheonix and sign in. Load the .APP (its the 1.7gb file).
Put your phone in fastboot(mak sure you got all your drivers installed) and connect it to your pc.
click update
Let it finish and unplug your phone. Restart your phone. Done.
When setting up DC-Pheonix make sure it looks like this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",

You can also buy 4 credits(if I remember correctly) and unlock your phone by using DC-Unlocker(https://www.dc-unlocker.com/downloads/DC_unlocker_software).
Anyone have a boost Y538 phone? I need the firmware from boost. Virgin Mobile firmware is very bad.

Update-
Please flash the OEMINFO and Custom bin from - https://mega.nz/#!qYtlzawK!Ab86GUO40JpUZ8scGnaIszhA-3gf6bN4NdfuHb8IeBU via TWRP
and then flash the B340 update.app file from download section via dload method. if you face any issue, follow entire guide for other way of doing this.
Initial credits to @uditshah for his guide and @sanjay.rup in sorting my issues at start itself while I was not sure whether to go or not and giving me correct oeminfo file. and all fellow members, and few to name @gopinaidu77 @adriansticoid @RedSkull23 who always helped/supported and encouraged me.
This guide will work 100% if followed correctly. This was tested myself couple of nights back and I successfully debranded or rebranded, as few say, to BLN-L22 from BLN-AL10.
Old version - BLN-AL10C00B379
New version- BLN-L22C675C340
Hi Folks,
Saw many post earlier on MM for debranding to other variant, especially from China variant to EU or Indian version and few of the worked FF but not for all. It never worked for Nougat and we all were struggling, at least to debrand China variant. So in this post, we will mainly focus on EMUI 5.0 or Nougat version for debranding. Few days back, a guide was posted which was very good and helped me to debrand mine. Yes, I faced few issues while following it and for once I was stuck with
Phone Locked
FRP Locked.
That was the moment I though It will never come up but yeah there was a hope as I never saw FRP on my Chinese variant and it all started from there and in this I will share the, almost full proof, detailed steps to debrand.
Prerequisites-
Have a full TWRP backup on your current model and store on PC/SD card.
Files for the new model (BLN-L22 variant)
Memory card with at least 8 GB space.
Firmware finder tool to get the files (preferable on PC)
Huawei multi tool
Working PC and of course, Honor 6X
Most important- PATIENCE. Do not panic. It will take max 2 hours including downloads, backup, restore, flash etc. (may vary depend on your download speed)
Shall we start? Let’s go further and do it now.
Downloads-
OEMINFO -https://mega.nz/#!eBECSYKZ!rte1IxPYuw3Y0NVcySOFy23tXWXoR6vBBo46iJ6JlEw
Main update.zip B340 version - http://update.hicloud.com:8180/TDS/data/files/p3/s15/G1190/g79/v94286/f1/full/update.zip
Data file for B340 (This is required for putting updater app and other stuff on phone or you won’t get updater)-
http://update.hicloud.com:8180/TDS/...el_in/update_data_full_BLN-L22_channel_in.zip
Huawei Multi Tool- https://forum.xda-developers.com/devdb/project/?id=19002#downloads (Version V7 zip)
Firmware Finder app on PC – this is not required as I have given the link above. You can still download it for future usage- http://hwmt.ru/hwmtsite/huawei-firmware-finder/ (download for PC) or direct link- http://pro-teammt.ru/projects/hwff/GetLatestVersion.action
Steps-
Unlocking bootloader/rooting and MT tool instalaltion-
Unlock your bootloader, flash custom recovery and root it with this https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-6x/how-to/root-huawei-honor-6x-install-twrp-t3671822
Backup backup backup your current phone in TWRP.
Installation of Tool installation and backing up current OEM Info file-
Download Huawei Multi Tool from this XDA thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-8/development/tool-huawei-multi-tool-team-mt-t3523923 , direct download link https://forum.xda-developers.com/devdb/project/?id=19002#downloads select V7 zip, extract it and go to the folder.
Run by double clicking the bat file as below
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Once the tool is running you will see the device connected as below (It will show your phone’s serial number) – Note: (I have not connected my device here, as I dindt was to flash the file again, so it wont show any device ID and just a random data)
Follow step by step images below to backup your current oeminfo file (path of the backup is the folder where you ran the bat file above\backup) in my case it was C:\Users\Downloads\Compressed\Huawei_Multi-Tool_by_Team_MT_v7\Huawei_Multi-Tool_by_Team_MT\Backup
Changing vendor/country- input 7
Selecting device- input 6X or 6x
Save or restore OEMINFO - input 1
Saving OEMINFO- input 1
Confirmation screen for saving the OEM INFO File.
Just make a copy of this file to some other folder, as same folder will be used for a new oeminfo file for new model.
Till now, we have just backed up ourselves so that in case we run into a situation where unbale to boot further or stuck, this will be handy to restore.
Let’s proceed with actual rebranding now.
Extract the Main zip file, you will get 4 files as below, copy all of them to SD card/ External memory card under “dload” folder.
Extract the Data file zip, you will get 5 files as below, copy all of them to SD card/ External memory card under “dload-data” folder.
Rename the downloaded oeminfo file to oeminfo: oeminfo-BLN-L22C675B340.zip -->> oeminfo.zip
Copy the OEFMINFO file for new variant (BLN-L22) to backup folder of Multi tool where you backed up the original oeminfo of your original model. (above path - C:\Users\Downloads\Compressed\Huawei_Multi-Tool_by_Team_MT_v7\Huawei_Multi-Tool_by_Team_MT\Backup)
Run the Huawei multi tool again same as above but this time, instead of backup of oeminfo, it will be option 2 to restore the file.
It should show the progress and confirm the download/restore complete. If this is failed, PELASE DO NOT PROCEED FURTHER and ask in comment section below.
Once OEMINFO restore is successful, you have the oeminfo of new version flash on your model.
Now reboot to fastboot, you will most probably see below status (don’t panic that’s normal now)
Phone- LOCKED
FRP- LOCKED
Remove the USB and Power off the phone by pressing power key now.
Use dload method now i.e. press Volume up + Volume down+ Power key together. Stock recovery should start flashing the files (Note- Do not just put the Update.app in dload and need all 4 files mentioned above)
Phone will verify the package and start installation. It will take only couple of minutes for 100% flash and phone will reboot.
Phone will boot but most probably give you the black screen only, for few minutes. Just waif for 3-4 minutes. (as mentioned, do not panic here as well)
Press power key to turn off the phone.
Take out the memory card and delete dload folder or rename to “dload-main”.
Rename the folder “dload-data” to dload.
Insert the SD card.
Use dload method now i.e. press Volume up + Volume down+ Power key together. Stock recovery should start flashing the files (Note- Do not just put the Update.app in dload and need all 5 files mentioned above)
This will take 30-40 seconds maximum to flash.
Once this is flashed, phone will reboot and ask you to set up the phone.
Unlike the China variant or other which may or may not ask for Google account setup, this may ask but you can skip it by skipping the Wi-Fi connection and removing the sim card so that no data is there to connect.
Follow the on screen instruction and Setup the phone.
BINGO. You are on BLN-L22 now and it will support Jio VOLTE and other stuff that other Honor 6X phones has for BLN-L22 (you are no longer other BLL, BLN model anymore and on BLN-L22)
This took me exactly 207 minutes to compile this guide and then 15-20 minutes in drafting on XDA, after I personally faced many issues but as mentioned, do not panic and proceed step by step and you would achieve what you wished for. Comment below on your experience and share if any modification is needed to the guide, I will do, but as per my knowledge, this is what I could prepare best for any NOOB user who doesn’t even know what root or anything is.
Share your thoughts on guide and ask any question when you stuck.
Note-
This was tested from BLN-AL10 to BLN-L22
This may work from any model/variant to BLN-L22 (most probably without any issues)
This should work for all BLL models as well, because there are no restriction on Hardware part.
Good luck and enjoy.

Yes you can. BLN and BLL is just a model name given by Huawei to region specific but no software or hardware changes.
So have you tried installing a custom ROM again?

I don't have experience on debranding, but if once i'll ever need to do it, here is where i'll surely come. The guide is done very well: listed on steps like you did with the help of detailed images, makes practically impossibile to make errors even to the best noob on earth, making it as you said 100% working so. Excellent work mate, respect!

Hi all,
I had unlocked bootloader and rooted my Honor 7X Indian version a long time ago. Since then I could not check xda and neither remember the tools I used to do the same.
I had received a notification for OTA update to firmware BND-AL10C675B161CUSTC675D001 for size 482 Mb. when I try to download and install it through phone, it boots into recovery and gives an error message.
Current firmware is:BND-AL10C675B141
Can someone pls guide me how can upgrade to latest firmware?
Thanks in advance!!

That is still a nougat rom. I think there is slightly newer version still on nougat, but several more with update to oreo.
Either way you can use HWOTA to to do FULL-OTA updates. . Having root is blocking you from taking the ota in a regular way, as of now.
This link should help you out.

Should I directly try to upgrade to BND-AL10C675CUSTC675D1B365 (8.0.0.365) from Android 7?
I have copied the 3 update files as per the instructions in thread.
I tried flashing TWRP available in HWOTA7 using Huawei MT Tool, but strange folder names are coming in TWRP (Crypted?), pls help me.
Also, can u PM me your whatsapp/ Telegram/ e-mail id, so that I can quickly contact you in case of any issues while upgrading.

That is normal to have the strange file names.
Afaik , you can flash direct to that version, as long as it is always the fullota.

Hi everyone!
after a lot of searching (including in this forum) i haven't quite understood what is or isn't possible, and i haven't been able to get clear answers. so sorry if this was already discussed a couple of times.
i own the indian variant (LE2121), even though i live in Israel (aliexpress is the only decent way to get your hands on oneplus devices in my country),
for obvious reasons in an ideal world i would want to install a global firmware on my device, so i can uninstall bloatware and avoid Inidian restrictions that aren't necessary in my country.
is that a possibility?
from what research i managed to do: i understand that i need a suitable version of MSMDownloadTool (which i couldn't find) and a firmware (which i saw is listed in the sticky threads).
should i download everything as if i own the global variant of the device? should i download the LE2121 version of the MSMTool and the global rom? do i need to root/unlock the bootloader for my device?
i also have tried to just download the newest global version and install it via Settings -> local install, but it just tells me "verification failed" and nothing else.
last thing: if it helps, my device currently has this firmware version: LE2121_11_F.20
would really appreciate any help i can get,
cheers.

You can flash the global rom with unlocked bootloader and fastboot enchanched (fbe)
Or you Download load the global rom
And open it with 7z and edit a file in the zip with notepad++ and then flash it with a local update
Edit the payload_porperties.txt
The line oplus_update_eingine_verify_disable=0 to
oplus_update_eingine_verify_disable=1
Here you go, This should work. May have to play around with the check boxes and if a target button is available, select India......

it shows both COM 8 & 9 because i tried two different usb slots with two different cables. i ended up using a type-c to type-c cable since it's the most reliable cable i have atm.
my phone is in EDL mode (as far as i can tell) and it shows up in device manager like so, after i installed Qualcomm drivers and restarted my PC:
i'm using Windows 11, i have tried using compatibility mode and\or "start as administrator", but it didn't help.
thanks a bunch!

I disabled the signature enforcement and it solved the issue, as you told!
The provided MSM tool worked,
Thank you both very very much!

system-wide, yes. everything works as expected and i don't get any weird errors, plus having the benefit of formatting my phone makes it feel smooth and "new" again, which is nice.
one of the main reasons i did this (aside from what i mentioned originally) is because i sometimes get stutters desynced audio when playing video (no matter the source). i can resolve this by closing all apps and re-opening youtube/whatever i was watching.
i hoped it'd be fixed with the firmware change but it wasn't. maybe it's a hardware issue or something

If I see any answers, will let you know. I don't know if the audio.img or whatever it is called is available to be flashed...
