[Q] Bricked help/ideas - ZenFone 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

In short, the phone is stuck in a bootloop unlike any I've read about before. All on its own, it constantly makes the bootup vibration pattern but it does not boot up. The screen does not light up, it is completely black (backlight is off as well). It is sitting on my desk doing the vibrate patter (bzzz-bz). Then 40 seconds later, again, (bzzz-bz).
If I could see the screen, I imagine it is going past the 1st Asus Logo screen, then trying to load the OS (2nd Asus Logo), but crashing and restarting.
This happened after I flashed fastboot (droidboot), recovery, and boot. All flashed successfully, so I went into Recovery and started to "wipe cache". It was taking too long so I thought it froze and forced a restart. After that, I never saw the screen light up again.
Any ideas as to what is going on? The phone has no damage (at least physically ).

Yes, wiping cache takes a long time you have to wait it out, forcing reboot before it finishes will result in bootlooped, that is covered in many many threads, you will need to reflash entire Rom from bootloader.

Problem is, I cannot get into bootloader. Its still doing the vibrate cycle I described, it's been 8 hours already.

Try holding the power button and volume up toll you get 2 vibrates then release power, if that does not help it sounds like your power button is stuck in depressed mode

Stuck in depressed mode? But I am able to press it, and I hear it click, and click back up. The "spring" seems to be working fine.

P500 Power Cycling Hours after Flashing Oxygen Rom

I flashed my LG Optimus P500 with the Oxygen 2.3.2 rom yesterday, and it had been working great. I spent a few hours customizing settings and getting acquainted with the layouts and everything. I'm pretty sure I rebooted it at some point.
But then, about 6 hours after flashing it, I held down the power button and pressed reboot (after opening a bunch of apps that I didn't want to bother closing. Once it shut off, it didn't come back on automatically, so I tried to manually power it on. It didn't come on. So I plugged it in to charge. The battery level was at 7 or 8% when I did this. Then when I tried to power it on, it just showed the battery charging that typically comes up when it's off. I held the power button for a few seconds and it booted up as usual, but when I spent a few seconds on the home screen, it went back to the Oxygen logo for about 10 seconds and came back to the screen lock. Since then, it keeps power cycling on its own. I can't keep it on for more than a few seconds. Sometimes, it gets stuck at the screen lock and I can't even press anything on the touch screen or the power button, and I have to do a hard reset.
I tried booting with no SD card and the same thing still happens. Should I reflash it? Any help would be appreciated.

[Q] NO WAY! This is not possible?

I was talking on the phone and BOOM it resets.
It started reloading and can't! WTF!? It just gets caught. The Samsung logo comes up and then the darkside boot animation (been running this rom for a few weeks). Then it blacks out and does these intermittent vibrations like it's trying to boot but just stays black.
When I take out the battery and put it back in, it attempts to load itself without me touching any buttons. After the boot animation it goes black and does a single vibration that pulses every other second.
I've changed the battery several times, plugged in, unplugged, everything I try can't stop this.
I attempted to get it into recovery. After I get it there, it resets within seconds and puts me back to the same place. There is no way to get into download mode as it goes into this weird loop as soon as I plug the phone into USB.
Ever heard of this? What do I do?
Your explanation sounds like a hardware issue. your power button is being pressed and held without you doing it.
1- is the phone in a case? take the case off.
2 - if no case, did you get the phone wet? somehow the power button connection is being activated.
3 - power button is stuck.
Possible solution - remove battery then press and release the power button several times.
Let me know if that solved the issue.

stuck in blank screen vibrating bootloop, stock, t989d

Hi i have a telus T989D, stock unrooted. I was trying to open a picture in my gallery and my phone restarted, then it showed the samsung loading screen and at about 75% it restarted again. Then it just vibrated, paused, vibrated, paused, etc. and its a blank screen. I tried holding volume down + power and it takes me into download mode warning screen, but it shuts itself off before i can do anything and continues this blank screen vibrating loop. ive tried pulling the battery, but the second i put it back in it loads the samsung screen, restarts and continues the loop. if i cant even get it to stay in download mode is it even possible to fix this?
sounds to me like you have a sticky power button (very common) on these phones/samsung !!! so if wiggling a took pick in there and un jamming it a bit then you need to send it in try leaving your battery out for like 10 min take out sim cards memory everything leave it sitting ..... then try again
There are some fixes for the sticky power button here:

Read the whole thread and then try some of the easier fixes first.
try getting into recovery mode and wipe data/factory reset
you guys were right about the power button. opened it up and pried a bit then it worked again

G3 VS985 difficult to turn on, recovery mode buttons don't work

My VS985 has 2 problems, which may be related to each other. The first is that, when the phone is fully turned off, turning it back on again is difficult. When I press the power button, the phone just vibrates at me and then refuses to turn on. Screen doesn't light up or anything. Pressing the power button again does nothing at that point. What I have to do, sometimes up to 7-8 times before it turns on, is remove the battery, wait a few seconds, put it back in, then press the power button again. It'll vibrate every time, and eventually one of those times it will turn on and boot up.
The second issue is that I've found it impossible to get into recovery mode using the buttons. I can get in just fine using the quick boot app, but that's not much use if I ever end up in a state where I can't boot into the OS. Apparently it's supposed to work by turning the phone off, then pressing and holding the power + volume down buttons and waiting for the LG logo to show up. I've tried this many times, it never works, possibly because of the first problem.
I bought this phone used, immediately used ODIN to downgrade it to the original stock OS, then towel rooted it and installed CM (LOS 14.1 now), so I've no idea if this phone has always had this problem or if I caused it. It's not a big deal since I always keep my phone on but makes trying new ROMs scary. Has anyone heard of this before, or have any idea how to fix it?

S8+ constantly restarting

Last Saturday night my Verizon S8+ suddenly began to freeze. It would do it with many different applications so I don't feel it is associated with one in particular. It then would restart and would hang at the Samsung splash screen. I was able to boot into maintenance mode and then select safe mode. It would boot to safe mode and would function as expected but then without warning restart again. I took the phone in to a local repair shop who said it could be the battery. Replaced the battery and it seemed to work but then started the boot loop again. Since the battery didn't fix the issue I did get a refund. At any rate after letting the phone sit on the wireless charger overnight it did appear to have fully charged and I was able to boot it up normally. There are some pictures that I needed to get off the phone so I plugged it in to my PC and started copying files over. After about 3 minutes it restarted on it's own and the whole boot loop process again. Now be aware that I know just enough about what I'm doing to be dangerous so here is what transpired next. I started pushing a combination of the power button, the bixby button and the volume up and down buttons and managed to get into the downloading a custom OS menu (see attachment 1) I didn't feel comfortable with this so the screen clearly said if you want to download a custom OS press the volume up key otherwise press the volume down key to cancel. Well I must have fat thumbed the volume down key and by accident pressed the volume up key. Upon rebooting it tried to perform a software update but would give an error message file not found. After several attempts to bypass this screen with a combination of pushing the buttons I was able to boot the phone into recovery mode (see attachment 2) and that is where it is right now. Good news is it hasn't tried to reboot so obviously it in a boot area ahead of whatever was causing the issue to begin with. I also note that the blue charge light indicator seems to be glowing from dim to bright as if I am charging the phone but I don't have the cable connected. So that's my story and I'm sticking to it. I am hopeful that one of you Android technical gurus could advise me of a way to recover the functionality of my phone through this menu? I have attached a couple of screen shots relevant to my issue. Please help and thank you in advance for any assistance.
