Regarding the unofficial CyanogenMod 11 for the SM-T210R - Galaxy Tab 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, everyone. I am a complete newbie here. Hoping the experts could help me out
First of all, thanks to "gr8nole" and his team for developing the ROM, I am loving it so far.
I do have a quick question, I was wondering if it is normal for the screen back light to remain on even though the screen has been locked. When I enter a dark room, I notice that, the screen back light is still on even though I locked the screen with the lock screen button or locked by the auto screen timeout.
I didn't post in the original post because it was a development-only post + I can only post in Q&A only.
This is the ROM I am referring to :victory: : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2783617
Thanks!
Edit: Is it possible to flash other kernel for this custom rom?

That's a "problem" with your bootloader I believe. The battery icon just stays there and does nothing but your phone does charge in the background. Update your bootloader to MJ5 or later and that will stop happening. Again this is only your animation so it shouldn't bother you much :]

anyway to change the ui status bar icons? I'd like to have a 4g icon besides the h icon
Sent from my GT-N7105 using XDA Free mobile app
Hi Guys,
I'm just wondering if there is any way to get a swipe-able camera icon on the bottom right hand corner of the lockscreen?
Cheers.
System UI force Close
The rom is awsome. I'm using it on my note 2 n7100. Rom Gives more option to user. Im feeling like a SuperUser. But sometime, when i unlock the screen it shows "process.systemui.forceclose". And then the system UI restarts. i dont know why this is happening. Please Fix it. I like THis LIQUIDSMOOTH rom very much. As this is the stable version, this must not be happened.
thanks for the link. it really works!!!
Call quality
Hi,
My previous rom is cm11 snapshot m9. ROM was very smooth.but i had two problems.low volume(fixed with mod) and call quality issuewhich is persistent with liquid smooth rom also .some people may call it echo where person on other side hears distorted amplified sounds. But i switched to this rom. but unfortunately this rom also has that issue.i dont know what to do. i am getting many complaints about call quality.please resolve this issue. Thanks
Carrier name on lock screen
Hi,
First post here, and first and foremost I'd like to say a huge thanks to all the people that have provided so much valuable information on this forum and an even bigger "Thank you" to the developers of the LiquidSmooth ROM. It looks like a perfect fit for what I am looking for and I am hoping I will stick with it for quite some time.
I was hoping though someone can maybe help me figure this one little thing out. Summary "After flashing the ROM I see Telus on the lock screen as opposed to Koodo, any way to change it back?"
Details:
- I got a Note 2 from Koodo a few days ago, SGH-i317M, that came with 4.4.2
- Rooted using CF-Auto-Root (CF-Auto-Root-t0ltecan-t0ltevl-sghi317m.tar.md5)
- Installed Philz Touch (philz_touch_6.48.4-t0lteatt.tar.md5), everything fine so far (except for warranty as expected)
- Flashed Telus modem 4.1.1 (was not able to find Koodo 4.1.1 ROM), so I can carrier unlock, and after the unlock procedure flashed back to modem from 4.4.2 Koodo Stock.
- Installed LiquidSmooth from Official/3.1/Note_2_t0lte/
- Installed PA Gapps Nano modular package (pa_gapps-modular-nano-4.4.4-20141110-signed.zip)
Phone boots fine, and I am able to make / receive calls, wi-fi works, camera works, but my lock screen shows Telus as opposed to Koodo.
I tried flashing the modem.bin using Odin from the Koodo 4.4.2 stock rom again, but that didn't really change it back to Koodo as I hoped.
I have done a lot of reading during the past few days to learn how to do the things I did and surrounding risks / important bits, but I am still a newbie when it comes to Android, and have not seen or maybe just missed the answer to this question.
I am wondering then:
- where the source for this text comes from, and
- is there a way to get it back to Koodo.
Any help greatly appreciated !
Found a way to change it under Settings / Notifications / Notification Drawer / Custom carrier label. Would have never guessed I can find it there, but nevertheless it does what I needed.
My camera isn't working correctly
When i first boot the phone it works, no problems. After that it keeps giving me errors, can't acess the camera module. Am I missing something?
Thanks!
Camera can't connect after I flashed update v3.2 from v3.1, another issue with homescreen, It lost few of certain shortcuts once rebooting device, please advise.?! other than that, the rom is very nice!
Sometimes my phone hangs up and i have to force reboot my phone. This was a major problem when i was using 3.2 milestone version. I reflashed back to 3.1 and had the same problem (phone freezes) but that only occured once at the moment. Is it a launcher problem or its something else?
themes?
hello guys i have liquidsmooth at my s3 but i cant find themes if u can tell me where can i find themes and link me a lollipop theme

I've just updated from Pac-Man AIO 4.4.2 to 4.4.4 (RC-3) and everything went smoothly but I'm having trouble with a strange connectivity problem. All my data works, mms, sms, everything, but at some point after running for a while my data drops connection (though it still shows full connectivity, it just won't load anything or send anything) and needs a reboot.
Anyone have any ideas? I'm on a T-Mobile T999 with Wind service in Canada.
Thaaaanks
I searched the thread and found a few posts about a lack of Wifi Calling for Tmobile in this ROM. Just out of curiosity, has this changed any? Where I live this is basically a necessity due to poor service and it'd really be bad times to miss important phone calls, which has been known to happen until I wander by a window long enough for service to grace me with its presence.
If not, is there some kind of work around? I've looked around and can only find posts from a year or so ago. So i'm guessing either it got fixed or people gave up haha.
If not to a work around method either, I'm assuming these are my only options now... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2088179 under the T-Mobile TouchWiz 4.1.2 roms section. And to the poor souls who've put up with my post thus far, any recommendations for any of those ROMS? Just curious since i've seen posts claiming that AOSP Roms do not have WiFi calling but there are AOSP roms listed. But then again these posts are from a year plus ago.
Quick question about compatibility with CM11
If I flash this ROM, would I be able to have full support for CM11 themes? And also, would I be able to receive OTA updates? Sorry if this is a really dumb question...
confused
I installed the Pac Man Rom and it seems to run fine except I don't have access to google play or any google apps. I installed the gapp pack and still no luck. Now I am trying to run Odin to clean everything back up and I cant. PacMan has its own recovery mode, and when i plug in the cell, Odin doesn't recognize it. Any suggestions? Basically I am trying to run a ROM that is just efficient. I tried one previously and I didnt have WiFi. Now, I don't have google play service to download apps. Any suggestions? At this point, I just want my cell running again. Thanks in advance guys. Happy new year
Issues with notifications, home button - PAC ROM, SGH-T999
Hey y'all! First of all, thanks for the forum, I am using a T-Mobile SGH-T999.
Second of all, I'm having some issues with my recent install of PAC Man ROM (pac_d2lte-release-20141231.zip with gapps4.4.4). The first issue I'm experiencing has to do with the notification drop-down. After I restore from Titanium Backup, I cannot see the tiles or notifications under the notification drop-down. I've browsed through the PAC Settings pretty extensively and have not found a solution to my issue. I did find the tile ribbon that I can activate but it is still inadequate, especially when it comes to notifications.
I do not know if this is a related issue to the one above but, after restoring from Titanium, I do not get a lock screen unless it is on the first boot; after that point, I can make the screen go black with the power button but, when pressed to wake up, the lock screen doesn't come back. Prior to restoring the backup from Titanium, I have no problem getting to the lock screen.
The final issue I am dealing with has to do with the 'home' button on the device. I first thought perhaps it was a hardware issue but, after turning on PIE controls and the navigation buttons, it seems that pressing 'home' does nothing at all.
Thank you so much for reading this post, please let me know if I can be of any further information.
Camera Issue
Anyone having camera issues still in PacMan 4.4.4 Release?
I had issues in RC3 too sadly.
Google camera doesn't work, I just wiped cache/devlik and no luck.

Not sure what happened to with this rom. Started out as my favorite, had every feature I wanted but between issues with the camera recording and force closes, lags, and automatic irregular reboots, I've been forced to switch roms. Can the devs please work out a fix and release a new update? Would like to come back to this.

BTW, I'm getting closer and closer to giving up on custom roms in general. I don't think I can go on with persistent instability, and even when the roms are stable - important functions like the camera don't work. I've been on a mission to find a 4.3/4.4 and above custom rom that's stable and has a workable camera/recorder. If anyone know of any please let me know..

Tried flashing this mod with CloudyG3 1.2 D850. Sadly it didn't work. Bootloader found it to be a security hazard. Strangely your other mod works. I chose 0 sharpening
Still noob user. Can only post here
FYI
Today i formated data then reinstall chupa rom , superSu latest, then chupa kernel without sharpening , to finish with sharpening mod.. -> i got security kernel error
If i do same but flashing 1.9 kernel with sharpening , all good.
Im on D855
Cool installer and nice work, but unfortunately the LS990 doesn't seem to take to this. I was on the original oversharpening fix kernel with KitKat stock and tried to flash the script, resulting in the security boot error. I saw your suggestions and flashed the RIN kernel, then your installer, but got the same results. Oh well! I'll gladly take any troubleshooting suggestions.
After a fresh format (again) all worked so fine. but once i applyied this MOD , i got weird things happened. Screen was blinking and go off without touch it... unusable. and if i pressed reboot , i had a choice beetween Wallis & Futuna and Vietnam ????? WTF lol
D855 V20D bumped
a question from a noob.
How or what do you install to install the kernel?
doesn't work for G3 VS985 Lollipop AOSP
Thank you very much skin1980 for this fix. I have a d851 running skydragon kernel and everytime I boot up, I have to shut the screen on/off for the effect to take. Any ideas?
Total novice - please help
I have just purchased the LG G3 and this issue is driving me mad. Everything else about the phone is incredible but I cannot use it like this. At all. I have never used Android, never rooted and done anything like this, so I would appreciate if someone can guide me through the process. Few questions though:
1. I have a D855 running software V10L-234-10 ; Kernel 3.4.0. It is from O2, UK. Does this fix work with this?
2. If I cannot get this fixed, I will certainly return the device. However, does rooting and flashing/doing this process void my ability to return it? Or will they not notice?
3. Am I correct that the easiest / safest way to do is via http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/themes-apps/multimod-improveg3-t2958376 Improve G3?
Hi, I picked up this phone few days back - everything was incredible apart from the screen. I'm totally new to this - but I rooted (purpledrake), and installed custom recovery to install the sharpening mod. I absolutely love the phone now and the screen is incredible (like it should be). Thank you thank you so much for this! I'm otherwise running the stock KitKat ROM it came with.
I'm looking for the best stock lollipop ROM on which I can either apply the sharpening fix or it is pre-applied. Reason I want stock is because I LOVE Knock Code and the hold volume down for camera. I would like to get that.
Can someone please suggest a ROM? I want it to be stable and have good battery life. I don't want to be on the bleeding edge with cyanogenmod or anything like that. If I can get pure lollipop android (loved it on my Nexus 5) with Knock Code and volume down with stability and battery life, I would love that too.
THANK YOU for making the mod and I'll be grateful for the help
Got boot loop after flashing V3 on F400K - CloudyG3 1.2
LG G3 s (d722) same sharpening problem
Hi!
Two days ago I bought the LG G3 S (D722) and the sharperning problem is the same or higher like LG G3
I have been searching the aroma script for LG G3 S (D722) but I didn't found
Anyone knows if I can apply the "LG G3 aroma script" to the mini version?
or ... anyone knows how to fix it?
Thanks in advance
Halp
Hey guys, I have become an owner of the LG G3 D855 as of recently, and like many, I am disappointed by the over-sharpened UI.
Basically, I'm debating between returning it and attempting to mod it by myself, but since I'm lacking some (basic) understanding in the area, I cannot make any informed decisions without some help.
With that said, here are some, perhaps noobish, questions, the answers to which would really help me get a more clear view of what would be the right choice for me:
1. Does flashing this, or some other kernel actually solve the issue, without exposing some other artifacts of the display?
- I mean it's been almost half a year since the phone's release, and the sharpening still hasn't been removed, it would be only logical to assume there's a reason for that.
2. Does the kernel dictate what rom the phone could have? In other words, could I flash CM12 on top of it, or am I limited to the stock rom?
3. Just to make sure I'm getting the order of operations straight: to flash the kernel I would first need to root, install a custom recovery, make a backup file, and then "install the [kernel] zip" (whatever that means), correct?
- If such is the case, I assume that if the need to un-void my warranty may arise, I could then unroot my phone and it would be back to stock like nothing ever happened, right?
Lastly, has anyone noticed any backlighting inconsistencies? On day one I've noticed that the pixel matrix of the screen seems uneven, which manifests in a "hatching" effect, it is noticeable the most upclose, on a white background though. Also when (slowly) pulling down the notification shade, I notice that there are some wave patterns forming on the screen as it dims. It would have probably been easier to just film it, but I hope you understand what I mean, if not know from first hand experience. The wallpaper I'm using is the snowy mountains photo, with the bright, grayish, sky. Software version: Stock rom, Lollipop 5.0.

If you use the zip script:
1 no issue
2 every rom
3 need only twrp to flash the zip. If you will flash a kdz of a stock fw all is good again for the warranty

Huge THANKS to everyone involved in creating this fix, I was almost ready to dump the phone just because of this sharpening... even tho my eyesight leaves much to be desired, the difference is night and day. Some webpages used to be almost unreadable due to this madness, honestly... LG devs screwed it big time.

{SOLVED} Calibration Issue --- Flashed a bad ROM / TWRP looking for suggestions.

{SOLVED} - See Below
I have a question for anyone that might be able to answer. I flashed a bad TWRP or ROM along the way and the touch calibration is really off for the bottom of the screen (the phone seems calibrated now for a 4.5 to 5 inch phone now). I've read every thread possible on how to fix a calibration issue. I have ....factory reset / wiped all internal storage / wiped everything except USB thing / flashed correct TWRP / flashed correct rom and firmware. I'm now on Resurrection Remix 7.1.1 which is awesome except the screen is not calibrated for touch. For the S-Pen works perfectly anywhere on the screen which is life saving.
I've tried to run a several APK's that promised to calibrate the screen. No luck. Then I saw a video where someone had the same problem as me on Youtube. Apparently the guy did the same thing as me and used Secret Codes to fix it.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1rh7zeqGm7Q
However, Samsung's "secret codes" don't work (Verizon) from the dialer, I've tried Shortcut Master (App), Samsung Phone Info (App) and apparently they don't seem to be able to make any of the old secret code menus appear which I've been told will help fix the calibration. From what I've gathered, I may have to downgrade to a stock developer edition rom (touchwiz) for the dialer pad to be able to key in secret codes to be able to service the touch screen calibration. Can anyone confirm that? I assume downgrading is possible from this.....can anyone recommend a correct ROM for me to downgrade to that is stock/touchwiz but friendly for the developer edition? Hopefully this is posted in the right place, otherwise I will copy it and save it and the moderator move/delete it. Thank you!
{SOLVED} -- I did downgrade my rom to Paul Pizz's stock / touchwiz based rom. It allowed me to enter codes.
Solution :
1. Dial *#2663#
2. Then select "TSP FW update (General)"
After this, the screen is PERFECTLY CALIBRATED AGAIN!!!! (WHOO HOO!!!! 3 days of racking my brain are over!)
Same problem unlocked with twrp but unable to root cant swipe to modify and pen po y works after booted. Not in recovery. Verizon 910v note 4.
Sent from my SM-N900V using XDA-Developers Legacy app
same problem.... I have a Verizon Developer Edition Note 4..... #2663# doesnt work on Verizon.... help
