I'm aware that many people have recently been having a problem on their S6 edge+ and Note 5 units where YouTube will display all supported resolutions (up to 1440p), but only in 30Hz.
This problem is similar to one that we experienced last year on the Nexus 5, and they're both /server side/ issues.
Whereas last year we had to edit the Android version in build.prop to 4.4.2 or L to receive 1080p YouTube, the problem with the S6e+/Note 5 lies in the model number displayed in build.prop.
Google simply hasn't added these larger devices to their list of "60Hz compatible phones", so when they see that you're using a G928 or N920, they don't give you the 60Hz option.
The fix, however, is /easy/ but requires ROOT ACCES:
0: Create a backup of your build.prop (remember to set permissions to 644 or RW R R if you restore it!)
1: Open it and change the model number from SM-G928$ to SM-G925F (European S6 edge) or from SM-N920$ to SM-G920F (European S6).
2: Save, reboot, and clear YouTube's cache
Now you should be up and running with 1080p at no cost to any other functionality whatsoever!
Everything else on your phone should work exactly the same, because you're just making apps think that you have a smaller but nearly equally-specced device (they're the same except for 1GB more ram on the + and Note, but the build.prop edit won't affect that at all).
Good luck!!

I think the term you are looking for is fps, not Hz.
How do we even know anyway what is the fps of a Youtube video? I only see mention of : 720 1080 1440. Never 30 or 60. So how do we know in which framerate the vid is shown. I'm confused!

Finally google added s6 edge+ to his youtube lib ..

Hi!
The title says it all, I'm interested if the Note II can handle any app in double panel view.
I use computer almost never, and having a smartphone which could view any 2 apps at a time would be so good and would be a great next phone I'll buy.
Thanks for your answers already!
Not stock. Only a handful of apps will work in multi view.
But there is a mod in dev section that allows any app to run in multiview

Only certain stock apps are available in the Multi window by default. If you need to add your own apps, there are a few methods, or you can flash a ROM that already have this feature built-in
So far, the easiest is this one, you just need to find the item name of the apps you wish to add, and use the webtool to generate a zip file to flash into your Note II (You need to be rooted)
Here's how mine looks like once I added apps that I want :

Ok, thanks for your replies. At this time I wasn't able to find the mod kylec mentioned about, and the manual method looks pretty creepy, but I'll look into it later, when I actually have the device with me. It was a big relievement to know that there is at least some way to double-panel all apps. It's sad how Samsung doesn't give us the device's full potential by standard.
Remind that even u flash unlimited multi window mod , it wont be easy to use, many apps will be stretched strangly.

Now, Google has updated its camera app to version 2.2.024, and once again, they have ported previous camera functionality to the app. The two main features that today’s update brings are support for a camera self-timer (either three or ten seconds) and a new option to change your image capture aspect ratio from the default 4:3 to 16:9. In addition, there are a few other, more minor tweaks such as a new prompt upon first launch that lets you select between full sensor (4:3) and cropped sensor (16:9) capture, as well as a new pop-up that lets you know about the camera settings menu when switching between modes.

There's also 2 new options in panorama mode
1. Square panorama
2. Fisheye panorama

Guess these random reboots must be caused by something else because I never had any random reboots on Nexus 4 with this Camera app running CM11
i dont have any random reboot with this camera app
so perhaps that the problem is not from it..
My N4 would reboot after every picture especially after using Flash....too much UV, so i gave it some Voltage
Thanks, will try it as soon as I get home.. :victory:
Thank you for the APK
you're welcome guys
Hi,
The cardboard still works on games which have their native implementation of side-by side graphics. It also worked on apps which were using cardboard v1 sdk. The cardboard template I used to make mine was http://pcpress.rs/download/MojAndroid/print_yourself.pdf
Now, in cardboard v2 apps, the left and right images are way apart from each other, so, its impossible for human eyes to focus.
Here is a screenshot :

So, is there any way to make cardboard apps work on this device?
an update, I experimented with https://www.google.com/get/cardboard/viewerprofilegenerator/ and this is what i came up best with:
Its a bit blurry/pixelated, but the ppi of our phone is way too low for stuffs like vr. Might not work for your eyes and lens.

Hi guys...
Had this working fine before and now it's screwie..
Gear VR works fine.
Google Cardboard when starting , has the inter-lense adjusted to far apart. The two images are seperated to much.
Is there a way to start from scratch (by deleting some config files?)
The left and right displayed image need to come together / closer.
Ive deleted cache/data for Cardboard and uninstalled / reinstalled
Anyone have any ideas ?
I've recently ordered a OnePlus 3. Long time iPhone user, but I've had a few Android handsets in that time. I liked the OnePlus 1 because you could alter the DPI. With the new OnePlus 3 (Nougat) update allowing you to alter the DPI, I'm giving Android another shot.
I was wondering if anyone had any screenshots of different apps, with the DPI set to the smallest setting?

Are you planning on rooting the device? If so changing dpi is easy. Without root it can only be done if the settings allow it. (apparently 4 has it?).
To your question. I haven't changed dpi.
Yes, I'm referring to the ability to change the DPI in OOS4 (Nougat) I'd just like to see the difference it makes.

I'm using the smallest setting since the release of Open Beta 8 (and still running it, too lazy to update to stable )
Any particular apps you're interested in?
Want just smallest DPI setting or also bigger for comparison?
Meanwhile, here's the setting screen that shows a sample in real time to help you decide before applying (in all sizes):

Have you enabled AWB?
Hello,
What is the version you are using, can you give me download link?
The only one I got orking was from SHAMIM but even then it freezes after a while if you install the cinfig file for the s22U.
I tried again and found a working version over here https://www.sammyfans.com/2022/05/22/download-gcam-mod-for-samsung-phones/.
I attached the files.
This version works when you install the attahced xml.
But I still cannot see the 3X and 10x zoom, it stays at 2x and 4x zoom.
But no colour problems as you have.
After some experimenting I have the 3x and 10x telephoto working. I'm using shamim v21 version of GCAM.
I can also takes pictures at 3x and 10x telephoto because the display show what I'm abut to photograph but the quality of the picture is not OK.
First of all the 3x and 10x telephoto.
This is just a matter of labels as the 3x and 10x work.
Go to settings - Additional settings - Auxiliary Cameras - Name for camera modules
enable names for aux lenses
set telephoto lens to 3x and ID4 lens to 10x
Second, show display at camera 1x, 3x and 10x
Go to settings - Advanced - Model Interface
For all the camera set the Pixel 3 (blueline) instead of Pixel 2 XL (taimen)
These settings may be saved in the profile files I found but then they are not loaded when importing. It's also possible they are not saved when saving the settings. But this is the way to overcome this for these settings.
Now the quality, video is ok, no banding but pictures are not, see included example, i tried a lot of settings but I do not get it right.
The pictures keep on having banding, if somebody can help me with that?
Thank to Pirpolo I found a solution.
You can find it on GCAM for Exynos
This is for shamim version? i do not know if you have the same settings for agc.
