I really tried to find the answer to this on my own. Would really really appreciate any help.
I have phone rooted and want to know which ROMs I can flash. For example, I saw in one OP that I had to be on ND8 or NDC. It then gives a link for those on L710T. Ok, I was told that ND8 nad NDC were the Basebands. Mine is NJ3. So is NJ3 compatible with one of those? I found a NJ2 ... Is that compatible? As for the link given, is L710T a model number (Its so close to my SPH-L710) except for that "T" (lol) but why would the requirements go from a certain baseband to model number?
Then I see d2SPR and MK5 and MK3... things have gotten so complicated...I'm not even gonna complain that theres a verizon , at&t.
the main thing is i get the hotspot working., so if someone can tell which mod works on boost mobile samsung galaxy s3 on android 4.4.2 model number sph-l710.. NJ3 (im not even sure if its really the baseband) . And please if there is one on there for ND8 NDC MK3 etc please tel me which specific one it is.
a bonus would be to tell me what i had to look for to know my phone is compatible

Have you tried to do an OTA update? I have a sprint L710 activated on boost and I am at OH1. The OTA came out on Aug 21 for me and stole my root. I was able to reroot through odin. I was able to flash wicked s5 xperience and it said only compatible with nd8. Hotspot works out of the box.

Quick question?....now that the 4.4.2 ota official update has came thru. Does anyone know of anyone working on a stock rom mirroring the 4.4.2 ota.. In a flashable rom zip form... Not g.e or miui just the same ota 4.4.2 in a rom form ... for those that dont want to update to 4.4.2?
Alot of people use the Metro PCS s4 m919n which is the same as m919 literally besides the metro bloat and we use tmobile m919 roms..all day on Metro s4 thats why i asked ...
becasue it may be a easy way to get 4.4.2 on metros m919N which as far as i know has yet to se a 4.4.2 update.
If this is possible im thinking about flashing Odin uvuemk2 on my METRO S4 making it a official stock m919 4.3 then trying the 388mb update.zip that someone has managed to mirror from the ota. That should put my m919n on tmobiles 4.2.2
Dont believe any bootlaoder or baseband issue will arrise these phones are super identical And run eachothers roms from 4.1.2 all the way too what we currently have.
Any insight will be great

No bootloader or baseband issues will a rise, I've successfully ODINed quite a bit of tmo specific stuff onto my M919N and it works perfectly fine. It's now a M919 of course.
I'm a bit confused about your question though, so you do want 4.4 stock tmo on your S4 or not? Or are you asking of the possibility of getting a 4.4 stock M919N ROM that's still metro? Because if you just simply want 4.4 stock tmo, all you have to do is odin the stock firmware like you said and make sure to triangle away if your device is custom then you'll be able to OTA and get 4.4

I bought a new Boost branded Samsung Gs3
It was 4.1 out of the box, but when I activated the phone it forced 4.3 on me.
The phone is rooted..(did it myself!)
I also used the "DE-SAMSUNGNIZER_KNOX_REMOVAL_SCRIPT_V1.0.zip" right after rooting....
I can' t see any knox related files on the phone.
I haven't flashed any roms yet, but wanted to.. Just didn't want to hard-brick the phone.
Can I use any sprint based rom?? Do I need to be aware of anything....I would like to try this rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2321867
Thanks all in advance..

You won't brick as long as you don't flash a tar file that downgrades the bootloader, since you took the OTA update. You can run almost any Sprint rom, but you will have to remove asserts from the ROM itself to keep from getting status 7 errors, due to Boost having slightly different radio(mk5). Try THIS link, it has some ROMs already modified for Boost. The second post explains how to remove asserts from ROMs not listed plus AOSP and CM based ROMs. I grabbed AOSB from Sprint forums and followed directions to remove asserts. Worked perfectly except for you can only have 3g and MMS or LTE and no MMS.
Just got a SGS3 L710 and got it rooted and installed liquid smooth. everything worked fine but just plugged in my head phones and got no sound out of power amp. Tried the stock player, still no sound. thought it maybe all the software i installed so i booted into recovery and wiped everything and reinstalled liquidsmooth, still no sound.
Edit: i also googled it and tried to restart 6+ times, still no sound. tried wiping cache, no sound again

I followed the directions to root here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2596697, bootloader is "philz_touch_6.00.8-d2spr.tar.md5"
name of the rom file is "LS-LP-v4.0-2014-11-30-liquid_d2spr"
as for baseband and modem i am not sure how to find that, i am using an unactivated sprint pre-paid l710 atm.
edit: baseband is L710TVU0ANF4
i did manage to download slimkat 4.4.4 and its got sound and everything else working.

you have the L710T not the L710.....and that's why Liquid isn't working for you go to the Liquid download page and get v4 aka 5.0 LP and use the D2BST one and that one will work for your device.....and incorrect your bootloader if the same as your modem and baseband so NF4 for future reference and help and don't just flash anything you see on this XDA thread which is made for the L710 as most won't work on the L710T

So i am figuring d2spr is sprint and d2bst is Boost, mine is a sprint prepaid but i am assuming that since it is a prepaid it shares similar hardware with the boost version. so i can only use roms tagged with d2bst unless it states specifically that i covers all models. would this logic also cover kernals too? i see some kernals out there that offer over clocking and the like that i am interested in.
would i be able to use this kernal?

thanks for all your help saves me a lot of trouble in the future.

not necessarily it's that the Liquid Smooth dev for the L710T thought it was only for boost so he named the build D2BST but it works for the Virgin and Sprint variant since it's the same baseband and modem.....you can flash other d2lte/d2spr roms but who knows if they will work.....the ones that will work are TW based custom roms tho....
I'm wanting to have the modem/baseband of the g920p if possible. Can someone make a odin or twrp flashable. I want to test some other rims that break the baseband and get some rom life for the s6 standard. Can anyone please help me? Been wanting to do this for about a week and I can't even get my feet on sturdy ground so to speak.
I can get tbe .bin from odin but its an older version from my oi1 build. Would that work? ? I used a tmobile rom w/ baseband unknown. Im gonna try it lol.
Why can't you do this from firmware for SM-G920P from sammobile?
That is a way to create tar files . We can already flash gsm roms to our phones but no service due to the no baseband issue . Some roms have even show no simcard installed even if theres one installed. Could be a kernel issue, so i flash g920p kernels to test this, then i flashed the baseband and still no dice. I have a g920p and g925p to test with and im willing to be the guinea pig for any options we may have on gsm roms for our "cdma" device thats been unlockable for a while now . Im looking for anyone who has expertise in creating roms that may have information on how to remove tbe cdma feature completely for those who need that. I personally unlock all sprint galaxy phones to tmobile or att domestic use. But its a hassle to remove hands free activation and all sprint bloat per phone. If there was a rom we could install after unlocking that would help tons . Can we get a bounty started ? Id pledge 100 bucks to start
So I was running 4.4.4 (I forget who's build) and I just did a search on marshmallow and I saw a CM 13 so I flashed it without reading. I know, stupid noob. Anyways, my phone now says it is a GT-N7105 on android 6.0.1.
I do not like it. Before I try, I was curious if anyone knows if flashing it back is possible.
Thanks
N7100 or N7105?
i317, N7105, T889 are universal and every lollipop(?)+ROM will be branded as N7105 to my knowledge since there's no reason to maintain three different sources

I don't think there's no practical reason to not like that "cosmetic" change, but can understand the feeling. If you really can't stand it so much, you can get a build prop editor and change the model name yourself. I don't think there's any app relying on that info nowadays.
On the other hand, I kind a wonder if those three models are exact same ("universal") down to PIT level. Not that it matters unless you want to increase the size of userdata or something.
Boot into download mode to confirm the phone's model #. Once you have the model #, find the latest firmware from sammobile.com and flash it via Odin.
