[Q] software update interrupted - still

Interesting problem - phone continues to say "Software Update Interrupted". Even after manually updating to Android 4.1.2
AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note 2
Samsung-sgh-I317
I encounter no problems with my phone, but this phone puzzles me.
Friend tried to update phone - said gave me an error. Phone is not rooted, stock ROM. There was an attempt to unlock the SIM using keypad *#..... I do not know if there were any problems.
I tried
1. Setting date ahead 2 days, 2 months ....
Result: A check for software update returned "Software Update Interrupted"
2. Tried to reflash ROM using Odin to stock
Result: Failed, tried several times - lost connection - tried different USB cable failed
3. Reset phone to factory defalts "
Result: A check for software update returned " Software Update Interrupted"
Update successful by
Manual update: downloaded update.zip to microSD card. Installed update Reboot into recovery (turn phone off, press volume up, center button and power) Install update from external sdcard
Result: Phone is now running 4.1.2 with Mult Window !!!
BUT
A check for Software update results in "Software Update Interrupted"
Should say "Current software is up to date"
Is there some switch that needs to reset?
Is ATT blocking the phone by IMEI?
What is checked when software update is run?
Phone works fine - person does not want to have ATT replace phone with a refurb under the warranty.
Any help would be appreciated.

Im having this same exact issue.. Had my note 2 for about a month now..When i first got it had no problem with getting OTA update to 4.1.2 but had flash back to stock firmware 4.1.1 via sammymobile because that is latest version they have listed and now me too had to do manual update rom zip via sd card.. Keep getting the software update interrupted.. I just wonder if there update "servers" are having issues? As i say two weeks ago had no issues..

screw it..flash a "custom" stock rom....cleanrom will work fine for you

Or just turn off the updates via tibu or app manager.
You need to turn off:
Att update and FWupdate .
But yeah otas
flash a custom rom and youll forget all about ota.

Want OTA to work again
Custom ROMs are not really a good option. This person still remembers the update to their MPX220, and the Chinese Character set. Simple fix to change the language, but huge impact.
I would really like to get the OTA updates working again, so I can say update your own phone.

I would really like to know what the OTA update servers are checking for and why they are blocking the update.

yeah, that comment will go over like a fart in church around here. You're comparing some c r a p from ten friggen years ago. You might want to do a little more reading

Have you done a factory reset of the device since the update?
use the stock recovery and reset it. .
The firmware update to UCAMA4 may have corrupted your data.
And does the device show "normal" status. .??
If yes. ..the data wipe should help. ...and wipe cache also. ..g

Can you please give me the link to that download because I tried doing what you said as in going into recovery and flashing a zip update I got from sammobile.com and it didn't work. My Note 2 is stuck on 4.1.1 and gives me that Software Update Interrupted stuff.

I'm not sure what kind of update from Sam mobile is flashed through recovery.
Down load via odin is another matter.
There are update options available for mh3 in the dev section

Sorry do not have the link anymore, it was to an old ROM March/April 2013. I found it on a forum on how to manually push the update via google.
The next update, the girl took it back to AT&T for a replacement.
New phone updates fine.
The FIX - replace the phone sad, since it probably was a software setting.

hello my name is sreenath reddy from bangalore city of india.here i have problem with my sprint gnex,that i am using it from past 1 year.
recently i updated to kitkat toroplus cynogenmod 11 nightlies on stock 4.3 worked good for some days.
i went roaming to other state suddenly. i lost signal,empty (meid,imei,esn,phone number,unknown network,unknown icc id),in bootloader
screen lte radio showing, but unknown cdma radios .manually i flashed back to stock but no change.
i flashed to stock 4.1.1 and 4.2.1 and 4.3.when it working i backed up stock 4.3.as well as 4.4.2.
i restored with twrp 2.6.3.2 its taking again it showing unknown all.here one more problem is
i can acess diag but in data mode if i input msl it making the problem stating that modem exception problem.with some apk to force to
ets channel.but it is not taking ets usb mode.i tried to write meid with ets app but it is taking comm port not usb port.
i have to put into ets usb then,only i can recall the obove mentioned things.i tried to rootz wiki
msl finder but no use.i tried of that script manager from xda but no result not found msl,with terminal emulator no result.
to put manually in diag or data mode i need msl.for hard rest i need msl,plz if you encounter the the same problem get me the procedure to do .
currently i am in reliance cdma network.my phone bluetooth and wifi working fine phone also working fine.phone functionning normal
only i can not make calls ,sms,not using 3g.adb working fine,fastboot,odin working fine.

i tried of hard reset but it asking msl again.even i flashed team eos rom 4.2.1 but i kept dignostic mode and ets usb mode but useless.

to use the phone from past 30 days.if some one not making the answers from mail through get me atleast
some phone numbers.

Lg g4 cant download marshmallow update OTA

I received notifaction about a new software update and its being downloaded .. When i left wi-fi coverage and went back it didnt resume so i restarted my phone and it doenst resume since then .. Though i have both data service and wi-fi working .. I guess the problem might be that the pacakge it partially downloaded has been corrupted somehow and needs to be removed so it can start fresh but i dont know thr name of package or where can i find it .. Please help

Same here - but I solved this problem.
It's as easy as it sounds! - Get in Touch with the LG-Chat-Support and tell them about your problem. They will ask for your IMEI and only about 48h at max. you will receive the OTA-Info on your screen, like it was on mine!
It's something because of IMEI's and their registrations... ask the Support for further details.
Take a look on this thread - explained the exactly same problem there as a sidenote.

LG f180 / Optimus G No service disabled

hi hope ever one fine on this forum , i am having little trouble with my phone ,
i was using 4.1.2 android with no issue with signal at all
then i updated using recovery tool and install android 6 , CM 13 Unofficial geehrc v1 and gapps-600 all was working fine on phone after a month android crashed when i was booting it only logo appears and continue to load and load
so i tryed every thing to reinstall old version it using recovery tool and it installed back successfully but it also crash after 2 , 3 min it was very strange behavior , then i went to shop for repair and they flashed with android 4.4.1 kitkat but now problem is no IMEI number and network service is disabled so i just want to get network service back either with reinstalling rom or by flash or any menthod that can recovery my service back so please help me to get network back , mobile is showing U+ sign in left corner i thing it is korian version software installed may be that is the reason,
also LG f180L version only support korian sim network according to my thinking , well any expert can give better solution on this thanks for understand my story above

You have to install flash stock 4.1.2 F180L KDZ again (yes! the korean one). Regarding IMEI/ No service, no one can help u if the EFS partition is lost (because that contains the phone info to be registered on the network).
The bootloop u had at CM13 has even easier fix than all of this KDZ mess. When I had my E975, The problem I had was no signal in CM12.1/CM12 so I had to resort to CM11. The F180's are so much falling into this crossflashing mess that its difficult to diagnose what can be the culprit.
Get the JB firmware flashed and check if u have imei.

I used to have signal normally but then i flashed marshmallow rom which screwed my phone in many ways one of them is the signal .. well as for now I have flashed back to stock kitkat d855 TWN and i tried flashing many modems to no avail ... i still have no signal what so ever other than that my phone functions normally - my IMIE matches the one on the box so I can't figure our how to fix it ? any tips?
*additional info* - at settings the mobile networks option is greyed out and the data icon at top(where u open or close 3g) is unuseable it got smth like that "/" on it and cant be turned on. .. my IMIE is correct and it shows .. currently I'm setting on kitkat 4.4.2 rooter with kingroot and have latest twrp ... I tried almost all the solutions on the website so any idea what shall I do ?

Well ofcourse .. but marshmallow seems to have screwed something with my phone the problem is that I flashed a wrong marshmallow rom I didn't flash the global one , I flashed one for lg d858 HK and that screwed my phone that I hardly repaired it (it was almost hard bricked) but now im back to stock still with no service though ...
