Installing CyanogenMod on AndroidOne - Micromax Canvas A1

I have a Micromax Canvas A1, an AndroidOne device running Lollipop 5.1.1.
I have never rooted a phone before but do have an idea about it.... I need help as to how to flash CyanogenMod on my device. I found the download file but the CyanogenMod installer does not support my device; and what is the difference between sprout4 and sprout8 ?
What is TWRP and ClockworkMod?
I want install CyanogenMod do I need to root first? I don't know anything about flashing recoveries
.... if someone could please help...

First of all root your device... After rooting successfully instal cwm or twrp or philz recovery in your device and then go to recovery mode and flash the cyanogen mod rom files...but be careful to have a search with the terms that is unknown to you because anything that is performed wrongly can be very harmful for your device and it may cause damage and result into hardbrick....

I tried searching for the process on my own .., found this toolbox on xda http://forum.xda-developers.com/cro...oolbox-android-one-toolkit-one-click-t3030165
rooted and installed a CM 12.1 nightly ....

Please anyone help me with how I am going to root my androidone phone I have never rooted any one before

Rooting, no problem!!!
If you are totally noob, then yu should download and install android one toolkit from the given link
http://www.mediafire.com/download/l8590x9kj779gan/Android_One_Toolkit_Update_1.2.1.exe
But you should have .NET FRAMEWORK 4.0 or above than that if you don't have it just take it from given link
http://www.freewarefiles.com/downloads_counter.php?programid=55008
After downloading and installing above applications you just open the android one toolkit, then click on ROOT button given on Rooting section.
https://www.google.co.in/imgres?img...wxLCI4ONNM&ei=Hbh7VujBDafgmAXxp7-wBg&tbm=isch
see the above picture
then yur mobile will be rooted and after that yu just flash the custom recovery like twrp, philz or cwm.
After all these procedures your mobile will be ROOTED and you are free to install any custom rom, custom kernel or many tweaks
GOOD LUCK FOR YOUR JOURNEY FROM A NOOB TO A GEEK.
:good::good::good:
If you don't have any comuter or laptop then you should try kingoroot or any one click root applications like kingroot, towel root etc. but personally i don't suggest it for MM cuz it dont work on it...:cyclops:

Uninstall your old rom manager because it doesnt support g2, download the new one, flash clockwork mod-select g2 as your device- wait for it to download and flash he recovery. Btw i would suggest you click fix permissions first before doing any of that

clockwork mod for noob
I finaly decide to root my G2( and S-Off ). So I use CyanogenWiki procedure without section about Flashing the Engineering HBoot with is denger and optional.Next I was uninstall no need stock soft (mp3 amazon finance or listen).Today I try to backup everything with clockwork mod.
1. Is the procedure with ROM Manager safe?
2.Do i need to do something else after geting perma root and s-off to install clockwork mod ? (still don't know what for is Engineering HBoot)
3. After instaling clockwork mod or after rooting I will stop geting official updates ?
4. Do i have to buy a prem version of ROM Manager or free market version will do the job ?
5. How to flash clockwork v3 and is there reason to do that ?

Lots of q's
Ok
1.Clockwork mod is very safe
2.No. If you have Perma-rooted your phone you are good to go
3.After installing it you can receive OTA updates if you are using STOCK rom
but its best to not update via OTA at risk of losing root. I was already had
temp root when we got the OTA in US and I had no problem but be warned
4.The free version is fine. But its always good to buy the paid version for added benefits and to help dev out

Sometimes it takes a couple of times before recovery sticks, so if you get the red triangle just reflash the recovery again untill it sticks.

Eng. Hboot is not required to flash a custom rom, but obviously perm-root is. Im guessing you got that quote "Perm Root with hboot-eng.....is needed to flash a custom ROM (still REQUIRED for the moment)" from the CM7 Nightly thread, but there is a way to flash CWM3 without an ENG. Hboot ( it requires terminal emulator) and also the CM7 nightly rom.
Any idea how to install CM7 from stock less risky way then hboot ? How about flashing CM 6 and upgrading to 7 ?

If the HBOOT required comment was for just CWM3, then there are guides already out there (including one stickied in this forum):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=900460
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=902493
Then just use CWM3 to flash CM7 like normal...
Absolutly right. Thx for links. Am a noob.

Rooting Stock ROM

Guys,
I need help regarding root of Stock ROM Lollipop. 5.0.
I unlocked boot loader, flashed twrp recovery but when it comes to flash rooting tools (Android revolution hd rooting tool) it does not flash and does not root the ROM. In recovery it says failed/ unable to mount cache ...
Am I doing something wrong or it the zip file which may not be compatible with stock rom?
Do you guys have any zip file which can root stock rom or the best would be if there is any rom already rooted but not modified. I like to stick to stock rom but want to get rid of bloatware.
I appreciate any advice, help or solution which may you provide to me.
Please do not ask me to search on google or XDA because I already did it and bother many people in the specific forums. As a result that they could not provide me with the solution I was forced to write in Help& Troubleshooting forum.
all the best,

Don't use a tool.
Download the update SuperSU.zip from here and flash it in recovery.
After the flash, find SuperSU in your app drawer and open it. You will be prompted to update binaries. Do that.
That's it. You are rooted.

I second that. The tool used by the OP is probably not updated to work on Lollipop.
Also, OP should make sure to run an updated version of TWRP (2.8.7) as anything but the last few (several?) versions of TWRP will not work on the Lollipop hboot.

[help] My G3 doesn't accept custom Roms

Dear all, as i mentioned My LG G3 F400s doesn't accept any custom roms but no problems about stock roms
It was accepted in the past but not now, I tried everything to solve this problem but nothing work
before I used cloudy and fulmics without any issues but last month I tried to flash OTA I got Boot-looping then i used flash tools to flash kitkat.tot and rooted it to flash custom rom but I got boot-looping again
I repeated all steps and after flashed kitkat I flashed Lollipop.kdz by LGUP and it accepted but after flash the custom recovery I got "secure boot error" message
I did that many times with different versions of custom recovery and custom Rom (Cloudy and fulmics) but after all steps I got Boot-looping
Now I am using MM stock Rom but there is no root for it yet, So any help please.
sorry for my bad English I tried to explain as much as I can.
Thanks.
So you mean you are unable to flash recovery on your device.
Which recovery and recovery version are you flashing. From where you are downloading the recovery.
Have you tried to install recovery using autorec. If not give it a try from
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/apk-flash-twrp-autorec-thanks-to-t3081396
Tell me if it fixes you problem.
my problem not flashing recovery, i already flashed it many times (twrp) but after flash the rom with the recovery I got boot-looping but now I am in MM so I cant flash recovery (No Root)
any way I will try to flash recovery with AutoRec in MM and I will replay
Thank you.

Unfortunately , autorec. need root access so i am not able to use it.
G3 has root access for marshmallow why are you saying its not ?? Try flashify for twrp flash check youtube for a demo .... After successful flashing then root ur device download kernel auditor check to see if u have stock kernel or previous custom rom kernel always make sure u have a backup of root + stock rom in twrp always
Use kingroot apk to root it temporary using internet connection and then flash recovery by flashify or adb method. After that flash supersu zip or just flash rooted custom roms.
