Status bar icons - G4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there a way to have the stock android status bar icons back? Imho LGs icons are not very attractive. I would really like to have the solid icons back.
We know LG is using layers to theme certain aspects, ive installed layers manager but could not locate the layer responsible for the icons.
Is there something im missing?

You got root? Then you can install Kickoff hybrid theme or Xposed and several xposed modules. Just search in theme and app section of g4 on xda or in android development of g4 section.

Well,I didn't expect so many people wanted a Sense 4.0 theme.Anyone know of a good themer ,so that we can ask him/her to make us the theme?
Are you guys looking more for Sense 4.0 icons, or would you also want other launcher graphics to be themed as well?
Would only be able to theme the dock, plus the app drawer tabs and folder background.

I should be able to prepare the icons quite easily, just need to extract them from somewhere.
For the launcher itself not too much can be done to theme it at this point of time.

Found these icons ( http://www.mascobz.com/download-official-htc-sense-ui-icons-for-android/) .A bit old, but should do the job.
Why don't you just talk to blackdub370. He made an awesome Sense theme already. Probably quite easy for him to do it.

I didn't realize that XPosed Framework functions on the Find 7..what did you use to get access to on-screen buttons? GravityBox [JB]?

Right, Gravity Box JB. Also the Xperia/AOSP NavBar Buttons and XPosed Additions modules.
XPosed Framework itself works perfectly on the 7a. The XPosed Additions module causes some problems so I needed to deactivate this one temporarily. I ran into one boot loop out of all sudden, no idea if this was caused by XPosed.

Did you manage to disable the hardware buttons also? Also, a lot of functions of GravityBox are not working (obviously), so how did you get the clock to center? Mine isn't...

The center clock seems to be a feature of ColorOS 2.0, I didn't change anything! Are you running 1.2?
Unfortunately my hardware keys still respond to touch. XPosed Additions should be used to disable these, but the module interferes with something in ColorOS and makes it crash every few minutes. I haven't found another way to disable them, but with the Find 5, you could disable them by editing a certain file in the /system partition, so I guess this should work on the 7a too. I haven't figured out which file to edit though.

Is there a ColorOS 2.0 for the U.S. X9006 variant? I didn't think there was..
The same one can be installed on both international and US variants. The root zip works with both too.

Nova launcher with Beweather widget. Custom shortcuts how? There's a free version on the playstore to see if it does what you want. The iconset name used there is called "fireworks"
Thanks, I'll look into it. Most clock/weather widget apps allow you to set shortcuts to it such as the calender to the date, clock app to the time, forcast to the weather portion, etc. Its best when you can choose your own shortcuts rather than using the system defaults. For example you may have a alarm clock app you use off the market you would rather use than the built in alarm clock and so on.
Can someone remove the vibration in menu button of nova launcher ? Ahhe

Few Questions

Hi,
Just picked up the device today and I've rooted it and installed Xposed and managed to get it as close to AOSP as I can.
I was wondering what's the safest way to change the DPI is and if there's anyway to get the Android L status bar icons (battery, signal, WiFi, silent etc) and navigation bar onto the stock ROM?
I'd normally do a backup and dive into these things but I haven't got a custom recovery installed (as I can't seem to find any) so I figured I'd ask!
I was also wondering if I'm fine to update my device via OTA even though its rooted?
Thanks
Curtis
Textdroider for dpi has been the best for me. And I got the Android L nav bar by looking though the downloadable modules in xposed + changing the pressed colour in tweaksbox looks pretty close to Android L

Thanks, got it all sorted!
Any word on whether I can update via OTA whilst rooted?
Thank you

Is there are material design themes out there?

I tried looking for a material design theme but cant obtain one. Are there any made so far?
Also interested!
You mean the icons for LGHome launcher or flashable themes for framework and systemui? UX4 design already follows the material design principles

No
Wallpaper and icons. Any launcher can do this. We need UI theme tweak w/o root.
