Hello,
I'm new to all these things and I find this forum right for my work.
I've developed a kitkat ROM from source but I want to add some animations and some material touch in it and I'm not sure on how to add it. Can anyone here help me figure out this doubt?

Hello all,
I have been searching for a while but couldn't find any specific info on this subject. I'm wondering if different lockscreens can be used on ROMs other than CyanogenMod. I use TheOfficial HTC ADP 1.6 DRC83 ROM, Can custom lockscreens like Stericson's be used? Thank you all Developers/ROM cookers for making all these awesome modifications to these phones possible. Please dont flame me, Im new to all this...
thanks all...
I am pretty sure the lockscreen has not been ported over to 1.6 yet. I know it is being worked on.
I know an unmodified services.jar from the 5a lockscreen will work with akirahs rom, but a modded services.jar will not go past the first splash screen.
Lockscreens can be added to any rom, provided you have the source for it's services.jar, however, as a simple "drop-in", no, it has to be designed for that rom because of specific dependencies between a rom's framework (though two roms based on the same framework should work as long as it's not been odexed). There's a way to do it, though, but it's a lot of work, you could have the services read off of an xml that you can store in your system folder (maybe etc) and toss your changes there. I'm working on..... .nevermind
Could someone port BBm10 style lockscreen to our Desire/Inspire. I really like this lockscreen, it is already available for galaxy nexus. it will be cool if someone port it to Desire/Inspire http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1920609
Maybe someone with an android build could apply the patch from here and post up the new framework files for everyone in the Desire/Inspire family to use. I do not have a machine available with linux installed to give the patch a try.
For the lockscreen to function the framework-res.apk & framework.jar have to be patched for the intended device.
If by the weekend this is still open I will install linux on this mini I'm currently using & give it a go.
Hope this helps.
Just posted in the forum, hopefully I'll get a quick(ish) reply =D

You want mods added to a ROM? Editing a current ROM is a horrible way to go about it when you have all this source code laying around. There is currently a help thread in this nexus forum explaining EXACTLY what you want.

Is it possible? status bar at the bottom? some build.prop tweak? I tried the xposed module but it didnt work
Not till date...long process maybe possible...wait for PA rom..that has integrated way to do it.
developers are like gods
It was possible on Pacman ROM by xenon92. It had PA ROM features in it such as tablet and hybrid UI. But then again it's AOSP-based not stock-based...
By the way. I encountered somewhere that Google removed tablet ui after 4.4+.. just saying for info
