Rogers - Device memory damaged - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

I have searched through the forum but haven't found any answer. I got this message on my phone 2 days ago,
"Device memory damaged, reset your device". I have tried to reset using the button provided but nothing happens. Have tried to Odin the factory ROM but it fails with "Write operation failed". Have also tried to flash CWM recovery and Philz recovery and they both flash fine but I have the same message when I boot.
Have tried to boot to CWM menu and tried to format/wipe/reset but to no avial. I get error saying can't mount /cache, an't read /cache.
Have not been able to find a Rogers pit file to repartition using Odin. All the files supplied are for SGH-I747 or i9300, I need one for SGH-I747M. Any body has one?
Any way to bring the phone back?

Does Odin flash any part of the stock rom? Which part fails to be written?

Samsung Galaxy S I9000 wont work after firmware update failed.

I attempted to update my phone to the latest firmware, via Kies, & although Kies gave a successful report, the handset said there was an error, & would reboot. Ever since that point, all i can get, is the main Samsung 'GALAXY S GT-I9000' screen. I've also tried hard & soft resets, but nothing seems to get me back to the proper menu. The hard reset gives this report -
Appling Multi-CSC
Installing Multi-CSC
Can't access to '/system/csc/ORA/system/.
Succesfully applied multi-CSC.
clicking 'yes' on the 'wipe data' option gives this report -
Formatting /data...
E:format_volume: rfs format failed on /dev/block/mmcblkop2
Formatting /dbdata...
E:format_volume: rfs format failed on /dev/block/stl10
Deleting Meta Data
Formatting /cache...
E:format_volume: rfs format failed on /dev/block/stl11
Data wipe complete.
Anyone got any clues as to what i do next? Now, whenever i try to connect to Kies, i get the following message -
Reconnect the device in Samsung Kies (PC Studio) mode. Current connection mode not supported by Kies.
Obviously, as i can't get to the menu screen, i can't change the connection mode.
you have activated lagfix before.. and this is the problem..one solution is you must flash with odin and with .pit file repartition checked
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
if you say i've used lagfix, then you must be right, but i don't remember using it. what is odin though, & how do i use it? is it operated from the pc?
Kies sucks!
Look like you have never use ODIN and have never mod your SGS.
Follow this thread and download Stock Samsung Firmware and flash via ODIN.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=948790&highlight=cwm+3.2
Or follow this thread with ODIN screen capture on how to flash.

you're absolutely right, i'm a complete novice when it comes to upgrading my phone.
on those links you sent, one says the phone needs to be rooted, have busybox installed and have ADB installed on your PC, the other says i need to know the firmware. as i can't access the menu, i can't root the phone, or check the firmware. i don't actually know how to root the phone either.
go into this thread here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1011901
find the right rom-version for your country/device, important is that the csc matches your product-code!
follow the instructions in this thread for installing with .pit and repartition.
(sorry for bumping)
I had the exact same problem. After having spent some time understanding the PIT files logics, I decided to switch from 512 to 803, based on my theory that the space lost might circumvent the defective internal sd sectors.
I flashed the exact same firmware (which was the JW1), and the traditional CF-Root kernel.
Back in CWM Recovery, I can now successfully wipe data / factory reset the phone.
Time will tell if it was a valid situation, my guess is the sd will continue to degrade over time. Well to me it was well worth a try.

Soft Brick S3 T999

Hi I was wondering if someone could help me.
My dad's phone which is a S3 somehow soft bricked itself. It was on a stock rom before.
It turns on and then gets stuck on the Samsung Galaxy SIII screen.
I am able to boot into download mode as well as recovery.
I was able to flash a stock ODIN file UVUEMJC as well as the PIT file and everything went smoothly and it passed.
However, the same problem remains, it is still stuck on the Samsung Galaxy SIII screen when I boot it.
Also went into recovery and tried to wipe data, but it is unable to mount any partitions, e.g. can't mount cache, can't mount data, etc.
I was able to throw on TWRP and boot into that, and it gives me similar errors as the stock recovery. TWRP also says that my internal storage is 0 GB and I can't put any files onto the phone.
I am quite confused because if NAND was corrupted then I shouldn't I not be able to boot into recovery at all?
ADB is also working...can't push/pull anything though.
If someone could help me I would really appreciate it. Thanks.
So I flashed CWM cause I read on XDA someone said that formatting data through CWM works, now...it says there is no pit partition and there is a flash read failure whenever I try to flash a stock tar with odin w/ pit. Also tried flashing pit by itself, doesn't work.
Try installing cwm or twrp again, boot into recovery, mount sdcard0, connect to Windows machine, and try to format the partition using fat32.

Odin Stuck in Get Partition mapping - Download Mode and Recovery Working

I have n7100, I had corrupted EFS partition, because of which my phone was stuck at samsung logo. I had no backup of EFS partition, so I flashed the EFS i got it from online. My phone was able to boot without any problem but Cell phone is not getting registered to provider because of IMEI.
Next I wanted to root the phone.
I flashed the root file (CF-Auto-Root-t03g-t03gxx-gtn7100) from odin and in haste immediately flashed the recovery file without waiting for the next reboot.
Usually the root file installs the stuff after the first reboot, in my case it didnt happen since I installed recovery on top of that.
Now I am facing problem in full flash with pit file. Odin is stuck in Set Partition, Get Partition Mapping.
I can access Download mode and recovery.
In recovery the following errors are shown
Cant mount /system
cant mount /efs
Is there anything I can do to make the full flash work?
Your eMMC chip is corrupted, or, worse and probably, you have SDS.
Try and flash a stock ROM
Change the USB cable

ODIN mmc_read fail, but MMC is alive!

I've acquired an S4 Mini i9195 that is "soft bricked" and worth repairing.
It sticks at the "Samsung S4 Mini" (white on black) screen, but is happy to boot into ODIN or recovery partition.
I tried to flash a new recovery using heimdall; it aborts with "mmc_read fail", even if I specify a PIT file. I also attempted the --repartition from a full backup, which also fails with the same message (followed by "SECURE CHECK FAIL: PIT")
It's sensible to presume the "mmc_read fail" messages aren't normal and the device is clearly telling me what the problem is .
Except the stock recovery partition boots can and can even wipe and reformat /data and /cache. So the MMC seems fine here and it's strange it would be reliable at one thing, but totally broken for another?
What could I try next so I can start flashing the recovery etc.?
Thanks

What happens if you try to flash a FULL stock ROM?
Do you know what caused the soft brick?

The same thing; I also tried with the Windows Odin software; the phone reports that message and the software's log gives no details other than "FAILED"

No, the phone came second hand but its previous owner didn't strike me as someone who would be experimenting with custom ROMs or anything like that; for them the phone stopped working and a new one was needed. It doesn't have its knox bit triggered.
Thanks

Can't access recovery and bootloader

Hi,
I have Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini (serrano3gxx). I was using this ROM and CWM recovery. I really don't know how it happened. My phone shut down and when I booted it, I saw this message "Encryption Unsuccessful", so I was not able to access my storage. Then, I've searched how to fix this. I tried to backup storage in recovery and I got this error every time "Can't mount /system, /cache, /data", even while trying to mount them manually. After a few try (flashing etc.), I've become to not access ROM (also bootloader) and CWM recovery. When I tried to access them, I only got "Black screen" and nothing appeared on screen. Then, I could access "Download Mode". At this point, I've tried to flash another ROMs (including stock ROM) and recoveries via Odin. Firstly, Odin detected my phone but ADB not. Secondly, when I tried to flash something that I mentioned, Odin's log screen stuck on "Initialization" step. I've waited 1 hour only for flashing recovery... Nothing flashed and still stuck same step...
Now, actual situation is that I can't access even Download Mode! Before this, phone was shaking when I plugged it to charger or USB port and tried to power it on. Now, this is also changed, it is not shaking...
Guys, I am saying "wth is it" now. These occurred step by step:
1. Shut down and message "Encryption failed/unsuccessful".
2. Can't mount /system /cache /data.
3. Can't access both of ROM (bootloader) and recovery // Black screen
4. Can't access Download Mode.
Note that, all of required drivers installed, even Kies. By the way, Kies detected my phone but it could not complete loading to recognize.
I've found this article but I don't know if it is solution.
I guess phone's storage is corrupted.
So, my phone's storage is fried? What should I do? Thanks for helps I will get.
Try flashing the complete stock rom not just the recovery. Or find a fix and flash it!!
Maybe you should get a pit file and flash that. Reanimated a S3 mini with that.

As I wrote, I can't access/reach recovery and download mode. How can I do that if you know it? I am still searching how to fix this but it is hopeless case I guess. "getting a pit file" is ok. I found it for a few roms including stock rom. But how can I flash it? I could not find this.
