Can't Find Any Partitions On TWRP - Galaxy Ace II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys, i think i messed up my internal storage partitions. Big story though. I have TWRP 2.8.6.0 but i can't flash/do anything, it won't find any partitions...not even sd cards. The phone can boot and works fine. Is there any way to fix the internal partition through the terminal? Or my only option is to flash stock rom and then flash again?
Greetings.

Hi Chrizz,
I think you have the same problem as me. Still no luck on solving.

Greetzz

i installed a new rom with ace2nutzer's kernel (20150821 build) and my device became really laggy too. Then i flashed chrono kernel, it was working fine. But when i went to the recovery again it flashed twrp 2.8.6.0, probably from the chorono kernel but i used to have cwm recovery. Now the only thing i can see in TWRP is some systems files like efs, ramdisk, etc.

From the zip of twrp recovery (use twrp_2.8.7.0_280815.zip download it from developer section) Extract the file tmp/twrp.fstab and copy it to /ramdisk manually, you could use root Browser for doing that.
I solved the problem with this procedure

TWRP 2.8.0.1 Bricked my device???

I just flashed TWRP and upgraded from 2.7 to 2.8.0.1, when I backed up my stock ROM i didnt backup original Recovery, only data and such. I can only restore ROM if possible, not recovery.
Now I read on the site that this is the wrong version, its for the V510 GPE, it won't let me flash any ROMS, and I deleted system data with the intent to reflash CM11. So no ROM, no recovery backup.
I seem to be in big trouble, how do i flash 2.8.0.0 or a ROM, am I bricked for good???
EDITSOLVED) I freaked out, but it's not bad. If it happens to you, Just took a sleep over to figure it out.
You can download a flashable ZIP file version of the TWRP recovery u want from this thread, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2551499 , they have from 2.6 to 2.8
Just use an External SD Card or USB OTG Flash drive, and flash the file with normal install in TWRP Recovery, that works. Reboot recovery, and u can flash ROM. I think my screen brightness issue has resolved as well!
Time to go flying!

[Q] Bootloop on recovery

Hi.
After a reboot a got a bootloop in the recovery. (TWRP) recovery. I can't enter the recovery anymore to fix anything. I can only use the download mode. This happened after I switched to F2FS file system using Resurrection ROM with the AGNI Kernel. The ROM was okay in the F2FS mode, the bootloop occured after rebooting in the TWRP from the ROM..
I have tried Odin in various versions, I tried to reflsh the recovery but it failed. I also tried to reformat using the PIT file. This indicated PASSED but still i was not able to flash a recovery thereafter.
What else could i try????
Many thanks!

Flash the PIT file together with a 4.1.2 stock firmware downloaded from SamMobile. Root and do whatever you want after.
My mix is CyanogenmodX (by UtkarshGupta)+f2fs+agni. It's kinda weird and I did not found someone else with this problem except this topic. I did a lot of reflashing to nail it down to the following:
I'm stuck with a twrp loop (twrp logo appears and then reboots) when using f2fs (/data only) and the system is installed. This problem is now for some months, before it worked fine with the same setup. Also complete wipes of all partitions and even repartition did not help.
-It works as long as there is no OS present or not booted for the first time.
-To fix it, I can either format /system or /data (to ext4). To do that, I have to flash an other recovery.
-It does not matter if I use the format script (as provided in the OT), or with twrp advanced wipe/change partition type (which only works if TWRP is not newer than 2.8.1.0 - newer versions give an error: unable to wipe data).
-The OS itself runs fine.
A strange thing to note: there was a time, where this problem occurred, to fix it, I had to flash an other recovery via odin, boot into that recovery, do nothing(!), reflash twrp with odin again, and I could access twrp again until I booted the OS again. This suddenly stopped and the only fix is the way I described above.
And a site note: the "loop" only occurs when using the advanced reboot options from the OS (or any other tool from the OS to boot into recovery), as it sets a recovery flag. When using volup+home to access recovery, it only happens once, still allowing the workaround to flash another recovery to remove the flag, and able to reboot system afterwards again (but no access of twrp anymore).
I also tried updating bootloader (and modem) with no success.
Process on installing: wiping everything except externalSD, change /data to f2fs, reboot recovery, install CMx, gapps, supersu, agnikernel.
Aaaaany input that might help to resolve this is really appreciated.

[Q] Any way to keep my recovery

Can anybody advise me how i can keep my recovery (TRWP), every time i try a new ROM zip it gets wiped and a new type of recovery tool gets installed ie CWM or CM recovery which then makes it impossible to restore a TWRP back up. I then have to set up FlashTool and Fastboot install a .img from a rom with TWRP recovery. Then i can restore. Seems a pain in the but. I have previously rooted other devices ie Kindle Fire hd and never lost or over written recovery sectors when flashing new roms.

The reason this happen is that Xperia smartphones do not have recovery partition. The recovery is part of the kernel (boot.img), so the kernel comes with a recovery. The link above has a recovery with is flashed onto the FOTA (over-the-air) upgrade partition, which is not used if you have an unlocked bootloader.
Works great
Thanks for that. I had previously tried it but used the latest twrp zip file instead of the 2 in lower box and recovery was totally unstable. However now done FOTA-TWRP.zip and flashed 2 different roms retaining twrp recovery everytime.

Can't upgrade TWRP from 2.8.7 to 3.0.2

Hi, I flashed the FOTA Kernel with TWRP 2.8.7 onto my phone and inside TWRP I flashed the recovery with the 3.0.2 TWRP image (telling me "Successfully flashed")
But after rebooting I still have TWRP 2.8.7
Using windows command line and "fastboot flash recovery "TWRP.....img" I get this "FAILED" message.
What am I doing wrong?
I even flashed the phone back to stock and then followed these instructions but same result.
Is my phone broken or sth?
Hi H4NNE5, the Xperia M does not have a recovery partition. The TWRP recovery is included in the boot partition when flashing the kernel. Try to upgrade with the TWRP-Manager if your phone is rooted.
Hi Lightningsfire, Thanks for you answer.
Ok, that's weird because I read a lot of threads but none said anything like that. I'm more confused right now.
Anyhow the LineageOS is not properly working on my phone anyhow so I set it back to Stock Rom and check back in a few months if it improved
One more question:
So if I flash the whole software package the boot partition is overwritten then, right? Because I noticed that the Recovery was a different one, after I flashed the system.

Issue with custom recovery(TWRP) after rooting second time

I have rooted my redmi 1s an year ago, and flashed cyanogenmod(13,14) later, lineage14 on it. It uses custom recovery TWRP(3.1.1). Also, I have flashed latest lineage 15 on it ( Increased system partition to 2gb ).
Few days ago, I moved to Stock miui by flashing latest MIUI 8.2 on it. Then, I tried fastboot mode and flashed MIUI9 chinese. Again, flashed MIUI 8.0.1 on it and rooted. Root got succeeded and checked OK. Then, I tried to Flash twrp using twrp manager, twrp official app. Both succeeded, but, cannot boot to recovery. It got stuck in team win logo.
What may be wrong with me?
Please help to flash custom ROM on it again.
Philz recovery and clockworkmod installed through fastboot and works. But, I have less experience on these. I need to install TWRP. Please provide steps and links for installation. Currently on miui 8.0.1.0
I have solved the above mentioned issue. Finally, I have installed twrp recovery. Actually it was the issue with firmware I think. Installed, MIUI 8.2 and flashed twrp 3.1.1 on it and works well.
Now, the issue is to reset partition of internal storage. I have tried this using clockworkmod to remove any issues with file system. Now, internal storage is only 4GB, also I cannot wipe or access internal storage in twrp. How to reset back to 8GB.
