I have a weird issue with the volumes. All my volumes are set to max. Now when I set the alarm notification it's loud, I enable he alarm, but when the alarm goes off it's like half the volume of what it should be? Any ideas, r cures would be appreciated! Thanks, Howie

Doesn't it start out quieter and get louder the longer the alarm goes ?

Check the settings in the alarm clock.
New app says it gradually gets louder
I don't see a setting for it. But it stays low and never gets louder?

Is there any way I can have an alarm that wakes me up, but not the rest of the household up?
Thanks

Set the volume of the alarm lower ? Settings>Sound>Volume
Turn your alarm volume down?
Yeah, but then I fear it wouldn't wake ME up lol

Set to vibrate only and put it under your pillow
brought to you by the XDA app on my badass Android toy
Do you think that would work? Might try it actually, what about using headphones? Lol
Sent from my R800i using XDA
Hearing something vibrate under your pillow will surely freak the hell out of you, so you should be ok.
Wouldn't recommend headphones, fell asleep once with them in, hurt like hell taking them out in the morning. Was like they fused into my ear!

I've accidentally left my phone on all the way across the room. Got a text, it vibrated, and it startled me awake. I guess that's probably because I'm a light sleeper though
Thanks

Set it to vibrate, put it down the front of the PJs and you'll get a happy ending wakeup in the morning!

the solution is quite easy:
get another alarm app (e.g. alram clock extreme -> free on getjar)
And use the increasing volume function.
Meaning: your devices alarm will start at low volume and will get louder the longer u ignore it.
So u can quickly disable it if u are awake already (and keeping your household asleep) and still be sure that it will wake u when it comes to full volume late (oh here all are awkae again).
But imho the best solution and also sparing your nerves a bit since you dont get harrassed out of sleep at full volume
my phone keeps making a noise like a notification but nothing is there its like a two tone sound "ba duh" happens like 3 to 5 times a day seems like a notification but nothing is there no led flashes, nothing just noise. Anybody can make anything out of this?
Running CM 10 09/04
Stock
can u explain the noise a little better maybe... not to sure I understand the "noise" your trying to explain... it happens when your phone is just sitting there or????
Dice with friends does that on my phone and tablet...false notifications.

two tone sound, i guess when sits there just now started happening never has occurred no app changes no change in use as in daily basis of what the phone goes through. i never heard it while do anything but i do too much anymore on my phone txt and calls and some game apps thats it though.
You will probably have to pull a logcat and look at it immediately after the beep occurs.

Is the beep a familiar notification sound? Is it your default notification sound?
Does having your phone in vibrate/silent make any difference?

The picture looks like it would be for haptic feedback or vibration.
If I'm understanding what you're asking correctly, what you're seeing is the extended audio control panel - you can adjust the sound levels of the four things shown (Ringer, in-call, media, and notifications) from that one panel.

If you mean the top rectangle with arcs radiating out of it, that's the system volume.
Go to settings-sound-volume; the different volumes (and their names) should be there.

The thing is tho.. I don't see it any other place.
Might be because I have keytones, touch sounds, and screenlock sound turned off.

meh it is not important.
Anyone else can't hear the screen lock/unlock sounds? In settings, they're set for ON. But can't hear them.

Mine are off. I had them on but they are useless because you have to put the phone right up to your ear to be able to hear them, even with the volume up all the way. Kind of stupid if you ask me.
I thought it was maybe a defect of my phone but I tried 2 of my friends Ones and theirs are the same way.
Thanks. Hopefully will be fixed in next OTA.

Anybody else have their notification sound off as loud as possible even though the volume is adjusted down? The sample sounds right but when I get a real notification it's really loud.

I modded the lock sound and now it's super loud. The volume of the lock sound doesn't seem to change when changing the overall system volume.
