Is there any way to keep the screen off unless I press the power button?

My Moto 360 sometimes comes on at night on my wrist, which then illuminates the whole room and disturbs my wife. I would like to keep it on for sleep tracking but I can't seem to find any way to keep the screen from waking on gestures while I sleep.
Are there some settings I'm missing, or an app that can be run to disable gestures?

Wait for the next update.. May be tomorrow?!!

Marshmallow people, weird ambient screen look when waking up.

So, I don't use Ambient Screen, but ever since the update to Marshmallow I got yesterday, i've noticed whenever I check my watch and the screen turns on for a split second it has the ambient screen look. Whatever notification i've got shows in the black outlined kind of look it does, and my dial is in its ambient screen mode phase. It's only a split second or so, before it flicks to normal. But it's never been like this before marshmallow, and it's a little annoying to see it flick between the ambient to the normal. Especially since I have ambient off.

Mine does the same thing. Also, the minute hand suddenly jumps when it updates to the correct time.

Same here. I don't like it. It's barely a 10th of a second, but its annoying. Changing watch faces does not fix it.

Mine does the same annoyin thing...

Whether could anyone attached clip that we all still do not update, see what the problem is?

+1 we cant even rollback the update. infact they probably wont even look at this forum (the official devs) how do we get this public

Same here on my moto 360 1st gen, it shows the ambient screen for a split second before the normal watch face, this is annoying, I tried changing the watch face, turning on and off the ambien screen, etc. Nothing helps

Same with Moto 360 2015.... I guess it has to do with the DOZE mode in Marshmallow..

Try to set all elements value "Display" to Always in Watchmaker + remove all elements, that appear in Dim mode. Takes some time, but should be working.

Any news?

This is getting extremely annoying and the worst part is that i can not downgrade my moto to solve the problem. There has to be a solution

LED notification

Hey guys,
I just wanted to check if Moto Z play has LED notification. I just read somewhere that this device does not have one. But wanted to confirm.
If this is true, I have to look for another device.

No doesn't have notification light more a on screen notification , like if a gumtree message comes through and the screen is off It shows a tree in a dim white at the bottom

It actually has a hidden LED as every moto device. On CyanogenMod I've already repurposed it as notification LED.

If it's like the Droid Turbo it has a "charging LED" that can be used with root

If u root there's a app that can make the front flash work as a notification

I saw the LED on our Moto Z play, when you connect the turbocharger with the phone turned off, you can clearly see a white led (not the flash) blinking briefly in the zone of the proximity sensors.

Yeah there is something between the front camera and speaker, maybe someone can configure it for notification

I used led control app to make it work. It is only white. And it didn't make it work for notifications. Only when charging, or usb, or using internal, or external memory.

Every moto has that it's a battery indicator not a notification led

Tasker is capable of using this LED and you can set it up to function as a notification light. I do it with my Droid Turbo.

Could you post the steps in the tasker for making the led work as notification led? I tried writing the commands in the console but nothing happen

This may or may not work on the Z Play. You will need root.
BACKUP FIRST JUST IN CASE!
I have it setup to only turn on if the screen is off.
Task 1 (LED on): if %SCREEN ~ Off
Set light - set charging to 1
End if
Task 2 (LED off): set light - set charging to 0
For profiles do this for each app you want to have set off the LED if you don't want it going off for every notification. Otherwise don't choose an application and it'll go off for any notification:
event > UI > notification. Choose an application (optional) then have this profile perform Task 1.
To turn off the LED I have it go off when I turn the screen on.
Event > display > display on and have this perform Task 2.
I'm sure this can be improved but this is how I have it set up right now.

Notification does not turn on display

When received notification, it appears in lock screen. However, the screen will not turn on.
is it because AOD needed to be turned on? as mine turned off.

any notification or for a particular app?

I think this is not achievable without an 3rd party app like Glimpse Notifications.

Wakeup screen on notification

Hi guys
Just bought watch gt 2 pro
Really love it but I have a one major issue that driving me crazy,.
When I get a notification to the watch the watch screen doesn't turn on only vibrate
Any way even 3rd party app that can change it??
