Recently purchased the 11 pin Samsung MHL adapter for my new at&t note 2. I have a Sony Bravia LCD TV. When I connect the adapter to my TV I get the message "hdml cable connected" but see a blank(black) screen on my TV. The phone shows the charging status so I know the power is connected. I also have a note 1(5 pin MHL) phone and an older adapter(5 pin) that works just fine with the same TV. This kinda proves that the HDMI cable that runs through the TV to the adapter is also fine because it can stream with my note 1 without problems. I can only think of 2 possibilities : Sony Bravia is not compatible with Note 2 MHL or I have a faulty adapter(more likey ?).
I also tried rebooting the note 2 just to be sure.
Any pointers ?
Thanks !
sorry to see that no one has answered this. had hdmi working perfectly on my evo 3d. same adapter not responding at all on my gfs note1 and the same black screen issue on my note 2. hope to find a solution soon. Ill follow up if I find a solution.

Hi everyone, just wondering if anybody has found a usb to hdmi cable/adapter that works with the note 8. I want to be able to connect it to my tv to watch movies. I tried connecting my Samsung phone usb to my note and it isn't a good fit. Is the micro port on the note 8 different than a standard micro usb? Thanks for your help. Not sure if it matters, but I am in Canada.
I have tried 5 pin and it does not work so I think 11 pin (the one that work with note 2 / s3) will probably work.

The 11 pin version works. I own one.(the one for the galaxy s3)
A normal 5 pins otg cable also works. In case you wanted to buy that one also.
Best regards,
Niels

The Note 2 Galaxy S3 and after use a 11 pin adaptor. Those work with the Note 8 ( I have one). You can buy a 5 to 11 pin Micro usb adaptor on Amazon.
Today I found a new type adapter by Samsung in a store: White, rated 1080p 60 fps. It has the longer, 11 pins connector. I think it is a proprietary one, based on micro USB. The black HDTV adapter for the SIII uses the same connector. That one has no rating on the box, so I guess that one is only 720p. Both are recognised by my Note 8.0 (it beeps). But I haven't had the chance yet to test them on an actual TV set.
Hi,
I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 with original Android from Samsung. Today I bought this Samsung SyncMaster Series 7 / 750 screen, which comes with MHL cable and port. I connect the cable to my phone and the port behind the screen (which supports MHL), but NOTHING happens. Any idea ? I already have checked and I have the latest updates from Samsung when it applies to my android OS.
Did you plug the power micro usb into the MHL adapter?
If the adapter is generic or doesn't have a port to plug in a micro usb, it will not work.
can i connect the tab 3 to a tv if yes , what cable do i need to buy
The tab 3 8 and 10.1 can connect to a tv through a microUSB 2.0 MHL port and the adapter.
