Note 4 BT disable 2016 Honda Pilot Touring Voice Command feture - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note 4

I have a 2016 Honda Pilot Touring with Navigation, Infotainment, & Rear Entertainment System and the Infotainment System is operated with Android 4.2.2 I can use all Voice Commands of the vehicle to operate the radios FM, SXM, etc., Climate Control, Navigation and everything else when my AT&T Note 4 Android 5.0.1 is NOT connected via BT. When I connect the phone via BT, I loose ALL Voice Command capabilities of the car. I have installed Honda Link and Honda Link Aha; both work. I can make a phone call from the phone and use the car's BT and I can call from the car's recent callers/quick list by touching an entry then use BT. This defeats the safety features of Voice Commands. I have tested an iPhone 5 and a Nexus 5 and they both work fine and allow Voice Command to work when connected via BT. I can send Text messages and the car reads my Text and Emails when connected via BT but still disables the vehicle's Voice Commands. I don't get an error, the commands are not heard and the car replies "I don't understand" and prompt me for a command as if I did not give a command. Any help is appreciated.

I had The same problem.

I had the same issue with my Samsung S7 Edge. I uninstalled it from the Pilot (unpaired). I then reinstalled it (paired). So far everything is now working. Voice command messages everything is working. I hope it works for you as well.

VW CC Bluetooth anyone have any luck?

I just picked up a new VW CC last night.
But I can't seem to get Bluetooth working properly.
I got it to pair ok. It's using AD2P I think (Icon on phone shows headphones).
But I can't figure out how to make it Sync contacts and wasn't sure if it should just do it on it's own automatically.
Car sees phone (because it won't even take commands if I shut phone BT off), but even when I make a manually by saying "Dial Number ..." you can hear the car play a fake DTMF tones. But nothing happens on phone and phone BT disconnects.
There is a Checkbox in "Media" sources and I enabled Bluetooth. I think that is for streaming MP3's and independent of Phone/Contact operations. That doesn't seem to do much either.
This is on a fairly Basic ROM (NonSense) with Stock #15 Kernel.
I'll try CM7 Build 7 later.
P.S. VW CC is an unbelievably awesome car by the way, I got 36mpg on a 1.5hr trip driving 75mph. That's with Manual 6SPD.
It appears VW CC does not have AD2P but it should do the Voice Stuff.
But the Icon on the phone looks like AD2P (headphones).
I tried removing my headset and all pairs and it only pairs as AD2P.
But forums say it doesn't have AD2P (on 2010) I have 2011. I assume it's the same though.
Try an app called Bluetooth File Transfer. It states it can send contacts. I'm assuming that you would just pair it to your car, open the app, transfer contacts.

Thanks for the tip.
I tried my wifes Touch Pro 2 (my own Custom ROM from Calkulin's Kitchen) and it worked perfectly.
Including AD2P and Voice.
It created two pairings. And under the pairing it showed Contacts etc.
Then the car requested access to contacts and I granted it.
It immediately synced all the contacts.
If I play music on the Phone and Choose Bluetooth as source in Car it works.
It took many years for WM to get Bluetooth right but Android seems to have a ways to go yet.
I will try CM7 Build 7 for grins.

[Q] Bluetooth issues in a vehicle

Hi everyone,
Got my black Z1c yesterday, love it so far!
However, when I try to use it in my car (Audi A6 2008), I cannot place a call if it was initiated from the car's interface.
The phone connects to BT no probs and shows my car in the devices list as a headset. Incoming calls are reflected on the car's display, and connected to the speaker's/mic of the car. When I place a call from the phone itself - same deal, all works as expected. But when I use the car's controls to dial a number, the car's display shows "connecting", and nothing happens...
Tried to pair/unpair many times, no success. Tried other phones, like iPhone 5, Samsung Ativ S (WP8), Samsung Galaxy S4 Active, HTC One - all work seamlessly. My old Xperia Z was working fine, until I sold it to get the Z1c... I would never expect Z1c to behave like this...
Anyone has similar issues?
Yes mine is the same (ford sync)

Bluetooth is a wireless protocol for exchanging data over short distances from fixed and mobile devices, creating personal area networks.
There are two important parameters of Bluetooth devices - class and supported profiles.
"Class" signifies the distance at which a Bluetooth connection is possible. Most mobile devices are Class 2, which means they have a range of up to 10 m. Class 1 devices are rare and have a range of up to 100 feet.
A "profile" is a type of Bluetooth connection. The most common are the Headset (HSP) and Handsfree (HFP) profiles that enable the device to connect to a wireless headset or handsfree.
Some other profiles are OBEX (OBject EXchange) which allows transfer of files, contacts and events; A2DP, which adds support for streaming of stereo sound and AVRC, which allows remote control of playback.

try clear caches. All kinds of caches. When I say all kinds, I mean all caches that you can clean. Retry what you want to do. If it does not help, try factory reset and retry your bluetooth connection. if it still does not help, try flash firmware. I guess this is the solution you can count on.

Thanks, will try. The phone was just outta box when I was trying it in my car... The car was the first BT device it has ever been paired wtih...
Phone calls work fine on mine.
BUT while we're on the topic of vehicle BT, has anyone got working song info via bluetooth? I thought it was supposed to support avrcp 1.3, but in my car (2013 Ford SYNC) I still get no info about songs I'm listening to and also the voice commands for playing artists or albums don't work.
/Daniel
I use it with my new Golf and the phone functions works as expected but the song info does not show. But they never do with Android phones. My 5s works of course

In my Toyota Auris 2013 model song info always worked with Walkman app assuming you have tags filled out correctly.
I know there were some issues with tag info in Poweramp I prefer to use but they got that fixed recently. Advanced options to display song info on external BT device is just buried deep in app's settings though.
Everything works fantastic on my BMW F10 (2012) with Navigation Professional, Bluetooth Music with Song Info, Phone with contact pictures (! Didn't even know that was possible until I got the Z10c) and full Message Access Profile with historic E-Mail and SMS access.
The In-Car integration is the main reason why I am torn between iPhone 5s and Xperia Z1c.
The iPhone has the Advantage of "BMW Apps", which allow using Webradio, Facebook, RSS Feeds etc. through the Navigation, as well as iPod Control and Coverart Display.
The Z10 can't do those things, but it can do Bluetooth MAP which is rather important to me also. Webradio can of course be streamed via BT (and controlled on the phone).

Looking for an app that I'm not sure even exists

Hi,
I'm looking for an android app that will basically do the same thing as cortana does on the windows phone. I have a for sync enabled vehicle and a subaru with it's generic bluetooth offerings and both systems leave a lot to be desired especially the subaru! I want to be able to queue google now or s voice hands free via both cars but neither have the ability to launch svoice, google now, or in an iphones case siri without the need to push a button the on phone. I would like to do the same thing as with cortana on the windows phone where I just place a fake number in my contacts and use the cars automated dialing system to "call" the app. For instance with wp8.1 you can push the button and tell sync to "Call Cortana" and it will allow you to command cortana as if it were a phone conversation if this makes any sense. I honestly do not know why more car manufacturers don't just allow you do use the bluetooth launch button system like you could with a normal headset.
I also have a Subaru and have searched low and high for a solution to this. There are apps out there that can accomplish what you want (Bluetooth Launch, Hint2Search) BUT not with our car head unit, from my personal experimentation. Not sure of your model but with mine when I use the car Bluetooth controls the car takes my command and has a limited amount of options. Other head units will use the phones Bluetooth commands rather then the cars integrated system, which allows you to use the mentioned apps. I love my Subaru but am not a huge fan of the Bluetooth functions. The one solution that kind of works is turning on the Google now setting where I can say "Okay, Google Now" from any screen. Even if my phone is locked and charging it still picks up my voice and I can use Google Now and it's features from there.

S20 problem with trucks bluetooth interface

I've got a new S20 and a 2015 Chevy Silverado. I don't have Android Auto, missed that by a year. I do have full bluetooth access for calls and media which have always worked great with my old Windows Phone and my Motorola Z2. On those phone I could have the assistant work by just saying "Hey Cortana" or "Hey Google" and it would interupt the stereo and I could dictate a text, do a web search or whatever. On this S20 I have found that I first have to hit the "media" button on the truck console to switch it to the bluetooth input before I make the request.
Is there any way to tell the phone to go through the same channel as the calls as my other two phones did?

Question Whatsapp phone calls via car bluetooth not working

When receiving a whatsapp phone call my car's bluetooth doesn't recognize it so I have to answer it via the phone's speaker/mic. With my oneplus 7 my car does recognize whatsapp calls so I can use the car's bluetooth. Is anyone here able to use their car bluetooth for S22 whatapp phone calls?
Figured it out; had to turn on nearby devices permission for whatsapp; please delete thread
