Bootloader error? - ZenFone 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
When I turn my phone on, it sometimes shows up with this message: http://i.imgur.com/vxq4QQo.png
Any idea how to fix this?
Thanks!

That's a recovery error, when there is no MOFD_SDUPDATE

Even though the Zenfone 2 supports 64gb sd card the recovery (stock) doesn't recognise the micro sd card if it bigger than 32gb or formatted anything other than FAT32.
You either need to put the OTA file on a 32gb or less micro sd card and flash or format your micro sd card FAT32, doing this will result in not being able to put files larger than 4gb on it.
Lucky for me I have an sd card to micro sd card reader adaptor and a 4gb sd card...

Hi,
Thanks for the suggestions. I'll try those
Edit: Truth be told, I don't actually have the phone yet so I cannot try it. That's a picture from the eBay seller.
I snagged a "for parts" 4GB version for less than $100. If the only problem is it needs to be re-flashed, then I think I got a great deal.

Micro SD card sometimes disappearing

I am using T-mobile Touch Pro 2.
I am quite satisfied with this device except for one problem.
Sometimes (once a day or every other day?) when I turn the device on, the micro sd card is not detectable. The card is in the slot, but the device just cannot find it. (It shows like there is no sd card!)
When I reboot the device or take the micro sd card off and insert again, the device recognize it which makes me very annoyed.
Anyone who has the same problem and the solution?
Many thanks in advance.
FYI, I am using Transcend 8GB micro sd card (class 6.)
The only time I have something like this issue is when I connect the phone to the PC as an external drive, which is by design. Unplugging the phone sets it right again.
Change your MicroSD to SanDisk and you wont have any problems. I have a class 2 16GB and I dont have any problems. If you're worry about the performance, it's pretty fast. using the phone as removable drive it writes at just under 4mb/s, using a usb adapter and the write speed sustains at 8-10mb/s which out performs minimum class 6 standard. All the test was done on a 16gb class 2 with 10gb of badly fragmented files already on the card and writing another 5.5GB into the card. I havent tested read speed but it's faster than write speed.

I had the same problem when i first got my sprint pro 2. All you have to do to fix is... using any card reader, copy all the files on your micro sd card to a new folder on your computer. then format the card to fat32. once formatted copy all of your files back onto the card. pop it back in and you should be good to go.. after doing this to mine, my 16g card hasn't disappeared once.

[Q] Phone damaging micro sd cards???

im currently running cm7.
i have an htc EVo.
i was backing up my data on this 4GB to move it on a 8gb micro sd card. i deleted everything on it and ejected it. i put the 8gb in and suddenly it did not work any more. neither did the 4gb mico sd card. my phone says that the micro sd cards are damaged. i have several other cards that wont read. idk why... i tried plugging the micro sd cards up to the computer and the computer wont recognize them. it tells me i have to format but the format always fails. i there a fix for this? im starting to think that cm7 is damaging my sd cards. i have important things on their to me and i would love to recover them.
THANKS IN ADVANCE
*UPDATE*
the 4gb i currently have will work in my old phone. it is a samsung highnote. but when i put it back in my htc evo it still says that it is damaged. i rebooted in clock work mod and it read this time. i was able to mount the 4gb sd card in usb storage from CWM(Clock Work MOd).
Try formating it on your pc

Hey,
Yeah sometimes that happened, now do other micro sd cards work in it?
What I would do is put the card in your computer I prefer linux but you can do what you want, or even your phone if it will mount it in recovery then just do a full sd card wipe and that should get everything working for you! If you still can't get it to work PM me and we will figure it out!
If I helped hit the thanks please and thank you!
The SD Formatter program from the SD association can nearly always format a card when nothing else can. Now, the data on there may not be recoverable though. I learned that the hard way too a while back.

It couldnt reformat my partitioned sd card though! but besides that that program works great!
I have had similar issues. My SD card was working amazingly well until I rebooted my phone to show someone my splash screen I had installed a few days prior. When it booted up it said the SD card was damaged. I'm not sure why....but sure enough it was toast. I couldn't even mount the card in order to see the files on my computer. Thankfully my motherboard was able to see that the card was there, just inaccessible, so I was able to run File Scavenger and get all of my files off. After that I reformatted my SD Card and went about my business.

[Q] sandisk 64gb micro sdxc ultra class 10

I recently bought a brand new sandisk 64gb micro sdxc card for use with my e4gt. When I put it into the phone the phone reads it, but will not give me the option to format it. The only option I have is to mount it, but when doing so it just says it is safe to remove which shows that it is not mounting properly. Should I try buying an sd card reader and formatting it on my computer? Or what else could I do to get it to work? Also, it is running stock leaked GA10 rooted.
I have the same micro sd. For it to work on the phone (for me), I formatted it to fat32 and it worked. Most recently I lost my old card on a trip, bought a new one, I formatted it again to fat32, tossed it in the phone but the phone didn't recognize it, but gave me an option to format it which I did. Then it worked. It might have a bit to do with roms too (I was on stock, then moved to a CM rom)
So you formatted in on your computer? If so which sd card reader did you buy? Could you post a link if possible? And thank you.
Just use any sd adapter and use the format32 gui from Ridgecrop. Roms or builds shouldn't matter once it's properly formatted and mounts.
I have the same Sd card. Sniper and Avatar turned me on to that utility.

Have you tried other cards? Off the top of my head I'd say to pay attention at inserting it properly.
Damn, your signature makes my teeth ache.
Try to install card and reboot device. I had the same problem.

VZW G3 ignores 128gb Lexar UHS1- microsd

G3 rooted on VS98510B
128gb Lexar UHS-1 microsd 633x,,, the blue and black card.
Phone refuses to recognize card is inserted. I have searched other similar issues and tried solutions,,,,nothing helped.
Tried card formatted from factory Xfat, formatted to NTFS, formatted to Fat32, used SDFormatter back to Xfat..... card was checked for fake capacity using H2TestW.
Card works perfectly in PCs and camera.
Same card in 64gb version recognized immediately,,, just like my other cards.
Card is not seen when attaching phone to PC either.
Phone refuses to even see the card. (so mount option is not available)
Battery pull and restart = nothing
Do not have someone elses phone to try it in.
This is the only 128gb card I have tried,, don't have another one.
