Help!
TWRP probably botched flashing new ROM (ARHD, MD5 checked), and after reboot I'm stuck on white HTC screen (~50 minutes... far too long for first boot!). Phone does not react to power button. Does it mean I have to wait until battery dies? I left it on 100%
I tried holding vol- + power, vol+ + power, vol+ + vol- + power.
What can I do?
EDIT: It turned off, and won't switch on again. I've just got me expensive brick
Put it in a wall charger.
When you connect to wall charger, you should see battery charging image for a few second before it screen off. At any time press power you should see battery charging image. Long press power button will boot it.
Wait for awhile let it charge, then long press power & volume down to get to hboot.
I believe your problem is not mainly the TWRP but your firmware is too low to run a lollipop ROM (as seen in your signature).
Nope, doesn't work. It does not react to any input, be it though USB or buttons. No LED light, no screen flash, nothing.

I am going to install a new rom, so i superwipe all the things, then when I should choose a new rom to install, I accidentially press the "reboot system". Sign,.....now the phone is bricked? I can't go into the bootloader by pressing the vol down and power.
Even I hold the power button for ten seconds, it just power off and the power on automatically and stay at the htc white screen.
what can i do?
THX.

when i hold power for a few seconds, the virtual buttons blinks for a while, then i immediately press the vol down button, but no use, just the same whilte screen.
No, hold power for 10 seconds to force a reboot. As soon as your phone powers down, press and hold vol down, keep holding and you should enter hboot. It might take a couple of attempts to get it right.

How do people not know the basics?? This is simple stuff
Cos they don't read. Although I remember when I first got my desire a couple of years ago, and rooted it, I was crapping myself that I might be killing it, esp as revolutionary and cwm didn't work with the erase size of 40000 I had on mine, (too late, flashed it) oops.. But that didn't stop me reading and searching, all the info is out there people, what ever you do has most likely been done a million times before. (and fixed).

Only assume your phone is bricked if you can't turn it on, or the bootloader gives you a critical error

Well mine won't turn on, battery is dead, and when I'm able to enter bootloader to check battery voltage I'm not able to charge it beyond 3543 volts or something.
Sometimes the bootloader gives weird errore like memory addresses or denied or something.
What can I do then?
The notification led blinks red sometimes, it never stays permanent red. And the sd sometimes fails as well, when I manage to enter recovery (which is not really often)

I have the same issue and cannnot get into fastboot either. I think it has to do with the fastboot option which was enabled... Is there any way to get into fastboot? Or should i give up trying...?
Press and hold the power button. Once the screen goes off press AND HOLD the volume down button and it'll boot into HBOOT. Then press power once to get into FASTBOOT (or select recovery to go into CWM)

Hi, thanks for your reply. The problem actually is I cannot get into HBOOT. I've tried about 50 times, the only thing which displays is the brilliant HTC logo screen. I notice when I hold the powerbutton the softkeys are flashing 6 times before it goes black... When it goes black i'll press and HOLD the VOL DOWN key, but still no hboot

Keep pressing power button+volume down untill it gets into bootloader.
Don't let go at any point.
Just hold them pushed TOGETHER for as long as it takes. You WILL get into bootloader or else I'm afraid something is broken...

Hold down power+vol up until the phone reboots.
AS SOON AS THE SCREEN GOES BLACK switch from vol up to vol down. That will take you to bootloader, where you will be able to enter recovery from. (select hboot for the recovery option)

That's because you didn't hold power + vol up first. That forces a reboot. The power + vol down for bootloader only works when the phone is off.
When you force the reboot, you can get to bootloader by switching to vol up immediately, so that the phone doesn't have time to get to the boot up stage.

I held P+U first , the white screen appeared including "htc logo in center" and "red warning sentence for using outside of HTC in bottom of the screen" . it took time only 3 second and after the phone immediately turned off. I held down P+VD whenever at those 3 sec (before, after, middle, start, end and whenever) but it never take me to bootloader .

Then you did it wrong.
It could take up to 20 seconds to force a reboot with power + vol up. What I said to do always works while your phone is still powered up.
If it is off, then just hold power + vol down.
If it booted to the startup screen right away with P+U, then your phone was probably already powered off.

yeah , my first post indicates the phone is always powered off and I can't turn it on unless I hold down P+U . It means that the phone already powered off . I blame me for my poor English , excuse me for confusing sentences . I knew I am not clear ...

The important thing is that you got your phone working again. :good:
When I power on my m8 it gets frozen on htc one screen.
when i press power+volume down it just simply power on
Please help.
Do this:
1) Hold power+vol up for a minute or so, to force a reboot
2) The moment the screen goes dark to reboot (but before the HTC logo screen appears - you actually have about 3 seconds to do this), let go of those buttons, and start holding vol down only. Don't let go until you see bootloader.
3) If you fail to get into bootloader, you probably just got the timing wrong (either started pressing vol down too late, or let go too early). Just repeat steps 1 and 2, until you get it right.
Nothing happens holding power+vol up

It would have been broken (or was malfunctioning) before. It didn't suddenly break.
If you've never had any problems with the vol rocker, its probably fine.
Try charging the phone for a few hours, then try again. Try the button sequence with the charger attached.
You can also try letting the battery run out. Then after that, charge it and try holding power+vol down.

No. There is no way to do anything, unless you can either boot to OS or bootloader.
You have to keep trying to get to bootloader, one way or another. Its really your only option.
What happens if you just hold power (for a minute or so)?

First off, I'll openly admit I'm an idiot and missed the bit about needing to update the bootloader on my T800 and now my tablet won't do anything other than sit at the Samsung boot screen.
I've tried doing the power button + volume down + home button key sequence but it just reboots. Same thing about switching to volume up after it goes dark. I'm not sure if I just haven't gotten the sequence down properly or if it's just a lost cause at this point. Does anyone have any suggestions?
If you've held the power button, vol down and home button simultaneusly the device should boot to download mode. At that point you would select volume up to enter the mode. Are you sure you are holding these long enough and that the device is not plugged in?
If you are on a 7.x.x. rom then you may be having the same problem as me. If you came from the Samsung 6.0.1 rom then you already have the right boot loader.
Plug in charger and then power button all you need to do is stop the boot loop so you can get it in to the mode you need......

Thanks, stinka318. Right now, it's stuck in the Samsung Galaxy Tab S boot screen and will sit there until the battery runs out. Are you saying plug it into power right now and hit the power button or do I need to let the battery completely die then plug it back in so it's powered off to start with?
Thanks for the help!

If I hold the power button, vol down and home button down simultaneously, it will reboot the device but then go back to the Samsung Galaxy Tab S boot screen. I've tried holding that down until my fingers go numb (how long have you had to hold it down for?). I've also tried letting go of the vol down and moving it to vol up once the screen goes black then releasing the power button when the Samsung screen comes up but that doesn't do anything either. Everything that I've ever tried just ends up showing the Samsung screen. So frustrating!
Thanks for the help!

Yep plug it in now and hit the power button it will show the battery charging icon from that you should be able to do thing you need to recover it.
boot into download mode (was mentioned how to do it on this thread already), go to ODIN, flash the bootloader, boot into twrp, wipe everything (to be safe), and flash your desired rom
Hello
I've tried everything to get my LG X K500N working again.
I've replaced the battery, replaced the screen (it has badly cracked), but still the same problem.
You plug the phone in, it charges up to 5% or so and then it tries to switch on. But it never gets past the LG logo.
I've tried the reset procedures (holding down the volume and power keys) but nothing has worked.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
Greg

I've seen a few methods for the lg.
First
Turn off the device completely
Press and hold vol down and power (6-7 seconds)
Release the power button only when the lg logo appears.
Press the power key once
Release vol down once recovery screen is reached.
Second
With phone powered on
Press vol down and power until logo comes up
Once logo appears, release the buttons briefly, then press and hold them down again.
