I have an 8160 which I have just tried to factory reset in order to clear all data and start using as a spare phone.
I did the first reset from the screen selection but when it restarted it came up with the phone pages in what looks like Polish language!! (I bought it here in UK)
I have tried two more button push resets but always restarts in the foreign language.
Can anything be done please? I bought the phone from a reputable Internet phone supplier. It's not some back street trade!
Any help would be appreciated please.
Thank you

Just change the language on start screen from dropdown menu (in the middle of screen). It's for 4.1.2.
If there is 2.3.6, there is a button in a button right part of the screen.
It's not hard at all. All roms are multilangual.
Mine was from Poland (with polish-language rom). It took me less then 20 seconds to set russian language.
Thabk you!
Just as you said - easy - when you know how!!

Hi Guys...
This is going to amke me sound like a right noob...
I have an O2 XDA IIs, but need to remove the O2 theme from it as i have unlocked it and put a different flavour of Sim Card in it.
When i bought th phone it didn't have the O2 theme on it, but them the battery ran flat and when it reloaded after being charged...It had the O2 Theme on it.
Any Advices would be apreciated.
Cheers Guys
Hard reset the device and when it boots up sit with it, at the end of the customisation it will offer a screen to install personal mode or Corporate mode, select Corporate mode and enter the numbers 0506 as the password, this will stop the device loading all that useless crap on to it.
Make sure you sit with it though as the default is to time out and install personal mode thus putting the crap on the phone - Mike
bring this back to life...
ok...i tried to hard reset the phone following instructions i found elsewhere...

since it's WM2003(se)...
just take out the main battery and leave the backup battery to drain.
it will eventually hard-reset.

I'm sorry, but I can't help you.
Where did you buy the i900? That's the most perfect phone around. What country?
Thanks,
Wieger van der Wielen
Hi.
i'm form HK, i bought it form Singapore 2 days ago, hehe.
its 16Gb, around $6050HKD(still much cheaper then HK[water goods] price$8500hkd^3^)
press Call and Hang up button and hold it then tap the soft reset button. It should pop up reformat menu right away after you release the soft reset button. Make sure you don't press both Call and Hang up buttons to hard, because if you press too hard the middle button will be pressed.

This is my first post here so thanks for your patience.
I purchased a phone from a friend that says Anycoll on the front not Anycall when I took out the battery it says i908 but the book he gave me says i900 and this phone looks alot like the Omnia i900 but as far as software it doesn't even have winows mobile on it.
1. Has anyone heard of this phone
2. How can I hard reset set this phone
3. Can I upgrade this phone with a different ROM
I preciate any help or info on this phone. Oh it is Chinese but simplified English. Thanks Moe
I live in Korean, but I'm a native English speaker, and don't understand any korean. I got the awesome SCH-M480 because it's the ONLY smartphone here, but its all in Korean, so I don't understand a thing. I've found that WMP6 English version for it has been developed here on the forums, but it seems its been forgotten, as my questions on how to flash/upgrade it have been unanswered.
Via the instructions I've read in this forums, and for a phone of the same make as mine (but different model # because different country, which is the the Samsung SGH-i780). The keys are basically identical, and other people on the forums have done this flash, but how they got past flashing step 8 I havent the foggiest. It says:
(8) Switch on the phone while holding the ENTER and FUNCTION buttons (ALT BUTTON)
(9) After the system DETECT message appears, connect the phone via USB to your PC
Where are those buttons?? I would assume it would be the half white and half black half white button (alt/function) and the normal enter curved down then left arrow key (enter). You can see the keypad here:
But I've tried it dozens of times and I get no such msg or nothing out of the ordinary. I've tried other button combination also but to no avail.
Also, I've installed RealVGA in hopes that I can change to an English language pack, but out of all the langpacks out there, there is none for English! Go figure.
Please, someone, anyone, any ideas? I desperately need to get some English on this phone so I can start taking advantage of it. I've tried everywhere, heres hoping someone here can offer some advice...
Hello, new here and I know nothing about rooting nor have I rooted my phone but after looking all over the net I have come here in hopes of finding some tech wizards that can help me.
The Problem:
Turned phone off and a few hours later I tried turning it back on but it only shows the screen with model number and Samsung under it. It shows for a few seconds then the screen goes black and keeps looping like this. I have not rooted or anything. Not dropped in water ( water square is pink though). Phone shows no water damage or corrosion after opening.
What have I done?
I tried booting in recovery and download mode but i have never done it before and I was not successful at getting any other screen besides the model number Samsung screen.
I have tried a different battery after spending some time at the mall (no on carries it any more as it is no longer made) different battery did nothing. Repair guys suggested it may be the button sticking and said hey could clean it for $25. Instead I went home searched the web and disassembled my phone. I cleaned the button areas on the inside of the case and the contact on the inside attached to the circuit board. I have reassembled and it still does the same thing.
After more research I found a video saying to actually remove the internal button from the circuit board to stop the loop (which will leave me with no power button) I have not tried this as I am not that bold (yet).
I am wondering if it is a software problem that can be fixed by using Odin and installing the stock firmware but I just have not found a proper guide that makes enough sense for me to actually try. I don't want to waste my time with something I have never done and make things worse.
I have downloaded Odin and firmware from sammobile but that is about as far as I can go without some hand holding....
Thanks for reading my story any help would be much appreciated.

Try this - Press and hold Volume up + Home + Power buttons together a few seconds, you should get recovery mode. And then find factory reset.

Thanks for the reply. I have tried this many times and tried again after reading your reply. This should work fairly fast from what I understand right?
My phone is a virgin mobile phone (Canada) is it possible they have locked out recovery / download modes?
When I try to start in recovery nothing happens at all. Screen does not light, phone does not vibrate. Again I have never tried this until now so I don't know if the phone ever booted into these special modes when it was working.

It's weird. I found something on page hard-reset.com. I cannot post link here now. I put "samsung ace2 recovery" into google and it was on first page. It's hard reset key combination. Try it.
When you plug the phone into the charger, do you get the battery charging status screen?

Forget my previous post. I was wrong. I try find another solutions.
Is your battery fully charged?
Sorry I think I might be a noob but I'm trying not to be...please be gentle.
I have a problem with my Wave Y GT5380D
I wanted to give to it someone so I did a factory reset - which I think was a big mistake! (read others have had similar problems after doing this)
At first it worked but wouldn't connect to the network - then I realised the SIM card was probably dud (had had it a while and it doesn't work on another phone) .
It was a Virgin phone but when you turn it on it gave you the option of Virgin and Tmobile - I had a valid Tmobile sim put that in and it seemed to work fine - sent and received a few texts....then disaster. :crying:
It keeps rebooting - you get to the home screen for a second and it reboots. (So the samsung screen, bada screen -if you put in a SIM card it lets you set it up/pin unlock -but no time to enter anything/get to settings etc)
I've tried using firmware recovery and intialisation in Kies -it doesn't recognise my serial number...
I've tried flashing it - but the only file I could find didn't contain the boot files...and I guess this is a boot problem?
Does that sound right? and if it is is can you point me in the right direction to find them...
Or does it sound like something else ?
Grateful for any advice... (but I am new to this so in stupid person terms would be appreciated!)
Thank you
(Right now I hate Samsung AND Bada - I want to scream, cry and jump up and down on it - updated to android because Kies/samsung wasn't recognising my phone - I couldn't even download Bada apps! Spent hours on this - couldn't get my contacts off it, then took hours to save my texts as even a text file....now this :crying: And actually in lots of ways I prefer Bada ... more user friendly )
a
I had the same problem with it. I did a factory reset then after a while it it closed out of nowhere then restart, stay up for 2 seconds then reboot again. I let it 30 minutes to do the same restart thing hoping it will change. Then I went to a phone repair shop and it reflashed my wave y. I got it back yesterday and after 2 hours of using it I went on the widgets screen and pressed the refresh button for the news. And then I figured out what was the real problem because it started doing that again . So I went to the repair shop again and now I avoid entering that first screen with the widgets :victory:
I advise you to do the same thing I did because they can fix it for like 10 euros (was the price for me) and never enter that screen again :good:
Thank you for your reply
I thought I must be too much of a noob.
I took it to a repair shop and they said they could fix it (for £10) but then got it back saying actually they couldn't. I suspect they can't find the boot files either.
Can someone point me in the right direction for a full upload - including the boot files?
It is so frustrating because it was a perfectly good phone :crying:
he is right
