You're a senior member. Check hardware info in about phone in settings. Google "result".
I will give you an actually helpful answer. I'm thinking your phone may be like mine and not have any specific information on the Hardware Info screen.
Go to this URL after putting your IMEI after the equal sign: http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/csmg/b2c/client/auth_model_check2.jsp?esn=YOURIMEIHERE
It should give you some more details about your phone. My suffix line says AUSAVKS which I've deduced means I have the USA unlocked variant. If anyone else has a better way to check, let me know.

It's under setting/about phone/software info. You will find software version v10b-XXX-XX depending on your variant.

On the box the phone came in, on the bottom end is a sticker. On that sticker above the UPC it says the region. Mine is the USA unlocked version and it says "USA".

My phone says VX10B-EUR-XX under software info and USA above the UPC. Those two bits contradict each other, which is part of why I'm confused and don't blame OP for asking about it. (Also AUSAVKS doesn't appear anywhere on my box.)
There seem to be tons of different G4 variants, so I'm very hesitant to flash/unlock/root simply because what works on one phone may brick another.

alternatively, you can try this link https://imeidata.net/warranty/lg?imei=<your IMEI here>
your version should be in the Network Code or Carrier fields ("e.g. TWN")
cool thanks guys, i guess i have the twn one as that is what it says in carrier.
The information in about phone means nothing. The USA version shipped with 10b-EUR firmware.
There are probably at lease 8 or 9 versions of the phone with that firmware. Always look on the box for the region code for any English language version of the phone.

Hey,
I bought an LG G7 ThinQ (LMG710TM) in the USA, and i does not connect to the LTE/4G mobile data network here in Hungary. Since it's a T-mobile version i thought if i could unlock it, it may work (i can use my Telekom SIM since the beggining to call/send msg), but i can't get the unlock bin trough LG site, because it says it's an LMG710TMP version which is unlockable, but the phone itself says it just te TM version withouth the P on the end.
Anyways should I even bother to try to unlock it, because i didn't really find any infos which frequencies are supported by my own device, so it maybe just blocked by the software or not.
Thanks!!

It's not rooted right?
Enter the service menu and check the bands. If it says "SUCCESS" then that band is supported. If it says "FAIL" it's not.
Bands 2, 4 and 12 are the ones usually used with GSM LTE in America.

Thank you for your help!
And yes, it's not rooted.
I checked the service menu, the listed(pic1,pic2) bands are all working, at least it said "SUCCESS" when i clicked on them, and in Hungary they use band 3,7 and 20.
I set it on 3, tried to reinsert simcard and restart phone, and airplane mode etc,etc little tricks to get it work, but still no mobile data.
The weird thing i found is the LTE Carrier Aggregation(pic3,pic4). It says what is says on the picture and i can't change it, because it tells me i need to restart my phone. I did it but no changes, so it just stuck at those options. I suspect the problem is there for some reasons that i don't know.
On pic5/pic6 those are some infos about the LTE stuff, sometimes it said Not Supported Mode at the Mode Pref, sometimes it said Automatic. Sadly i don't really know what that means, maybe it will provide some infos to you.

Did you contact the mobile provider and ask them to add your phone's IMEI to their service?
In USA, some people who bought the LG unlocked international phones did not have mobile data until they called the carrier and had them register the IMEI number.
You'll most likely need to setup your APN manually. Go to settings-network and add APN info for your provider there!

Yeah this is V5 algorithm very difficult to crack. You might have to buy the unlock code, which is expensive.

The new firmware versions of Huawei devices require a 16-character unlock code. I think nobody has found a way to calculate it. It is time we stop supporting Huawei products, and other manufacturers should step up their game.

I'm going to assume that you're talking about the IMEI.
From my limited knowledge, altering the IMEI is impossible as it is directly associated with the hardware.
And even if it was, it'd require dismantling this complex piece of technology.

Hi,
I've purchased a Galaxy Active 2 LTE (unlocked, SM-R835U, Tizen 5.5.0.1) from BestBuy US and I want to use it in Canada. Bell and Telus are supporting LTE smartwatches, but I wanted the Stainless Steel Gold color which was not available in Canada. My career, Bell, has activated the plan in their network and it seems they haven't any problem with its IMEI. But when I want to add plan from my phone it says " there aren't any plans available for your watch in your country!
I talked with 3 people from Samsung customer services and stores. Some are saying it's a software problem, and some are saying the frequency is different but it's very unlikely and I didn't convince.
Any idea how can I solve this issue to get it to work? Is it possible to change the firmware to something compatible without broking Payment, BT, etc?!
Thank you for your help.

Do some Google searches and add "XDA" to that search to easily find threads here.

Generally speaking, your bootloader version should be the same as your baseband version.
Bootloader version range from 1-9 then A-10, B-11 C-12 and so on.

Bootloader version is 5th number from right of baseband/build number firmware name. If yours shows as C than Bootloader version is 12.
You can also check in download ( Odin ) mode there should be a line saying something like :
AP SWREV - the number after the letter B is your Bootloader version number.

You can only flash the same or higher Bootloader versions.
Use websites like updato or sammobil or use PC app called frija to download latest versions ( search XDA can:t provide links at the moment )

yeah I am aware if that but what i am looking for is a BTS Edition of STOCK ROM which is nowhere available
Just use the version n your first post or higher.
I am pretty sure that edition models use the same firmware as normal firmware.
If going to do something to your phone make a backup of apps and data first.
Hi, new member here and total novice when it comes to messing around with what goes on under the smartphone's hood, though I have sideloaded a few apps onto my Motorola with ADB.
I have a GT-I9195, 8 GB, it certainly has NFC but not sure about LTE (not sure if this matters, either!). I'm looking to upgrade the 4.4.2 Android OS to something much more recent, and I'm in the process of gathering the various bits of software, and the instructions on how to go about this – a process that is pretty daunting for first-timers, I have to say.
I have two questions (haha, a lot more than that but just two for now) —
The TWRP website doesn't seem to employ the devices' official model numbers to identify the appropriate version of TWRP. Instead they are described as - for example - "International LTE", and so on; see image below. So, which of the listed versions is
{

}
appropriate for my device? And why are there only six TWRP varieties when it appears there are upwards of nine different versions of the device?
I have seen the various versions of the S4 mini catalogued in confusingly different ways on the 'net (that by TWRP being just one of these). The confusion includes even the number of different versions, whether or not different storage sizes constitute distinct versions, and so on. The Wikipedia page looks convincing as a comprehensive list of versions, see below.
My question is, is there a definitive way to characterize each distinct version and, if so, what is it?
Thanks in advance.

Sorry, don't understand your reply. I know the model, I just don't know how to choose the appropriate TWRP download, since the downloads don't mention the model ID's. When you say "show", do you mean in a post here? or to myself? As I said, I know the manufacturer's 'model number'.
