Hi, I bought a discounted showcase model today in the Netherlands. It has a "not for sale" sticker under the battery. Phone works fine; but it doesn't show me any software updates nor can the LG mobile support PC tool find any. It's running android 4.4.2 / V10a-EUR-XX. What can I do to update the phone? Is this because it's a demo phone ?

I bought a version from China Mobile Hong Kong, Taiwan (think customized version)

When access to the Recovery stops here
What does your software version say in your system settings?
Theres something not right with the picture that you posted.
When you boot into recovery it should prompt you with whether you want to factory reset your phone not show that. I would most likely say you bought a fake LG G3
Brother if its too good to be true it probably is, no store in their right mind would sell a $400-$500 phone on western markets for half price unless there was some defect with it or if it was second hand.
plz see imei

Hello! I wanted to ask : what version of LG G4 sold in warehouses or stores in the UAE ? Whether a full kit ( headset cover , etc.) ? thank
I'm currently browsing in Qatar and keep seeing N930X as the model number for the displayed Note 7s in various different shops - Is this the Middle-East regional variant or is the "X" part of model number just used for display handsets??
What model number does your Note 7 have if you have purchased it in the Middle-East? Is it Dual-SIM??
dubai - n930fd
I live in mexico, and the displayed units have that 930x too, the model sold here is 930F, so, I think that the "X" indicates a demo unit
Philippines, X is also the display unit and FD is sold here.
Finland, N930X is the unit in the stores and N930F being sold.
Thanks people - so to confirm, N930X = a demo unit model number.
I managed to check the retail box today (...should have done it before posting this thread, duh!) - I can confirm that in Qatar it is N930FD (dual-SIM).
Now to decide if I should go for it or still stick to my Note5 for now in the unlikely hope of custom ROMs to extend its appeal-life......
man, if you found some help, do not forget the thanks button
I need help putting another n930 variant on n930x

Only way to make it work like a phone is to change the mainboard. The X models are demo unit with all the functions except cellular.
Sent from my SM-N930F using XDA-Developers mobile app
I just bought a new LG Gpad X 8.0 (AT&T) Still sealed in box and I was provided an unlock code. It will be for my mother mainly to be used to read (chinese) books, play candy crush, take photos etc. I'm thinking it would be best to root it and start with a "clean" ROM (get rid of the bloat).
I started reading on this forum but it is quite confusing with all the different versions.
My box says:
Model: LG V520 GSM AT&T
OS Ver: Android 6.0.1
SW-VER: V520.0.0811
Is there a newbie guide?
I have experience with rooting phones and other tablets
I have an LG G7 ThinQ phone that won't get the android 9 update.... it keeps saying that I'm already using the latest version of the software... well, that's frustrating, 'cause I know other LG G7 ThinQ owners that got the android 9 months ago... please help...
Your phone is probably crossflashed.
Did you by it from ebay amazon etc or secondhand....

Bought it from eMag, one of the biggest online shops in Romania. Not second-hand. What's "crossflashed"?

Romania, but I don't think that that affects the pie update... I know someone that lives in the same neighborhood as I do, has a phone just like mine (LG G7 ThinQ), we bought the devices only a few days apart, and he received his pie update in june + other updates since then (security patch and others)... and I haven't received any of those... does it have anything to do with the model number or the telecommunications company? My model number is LM-G710EM... the company is Telekom... I looked up my IMEI on imei.info and everything seems ok, no counterfeit or anything like that...
Check your ime number and Se if its not crossflashed
Som retailers is shady country's like rumania crossflash sprint phones and sells them as 710em. Thay will nog get security ore pie updates. U whold be surprised what company's do to make money.

I checked my IMEI on imei.info site and it seems to be valid... the PhoneInfo app also indicates that the IMEI is valid, everything looks fine, but I still can't get the android pie update... I even tried the LG Bridge and it doesn't work...
Having the same problem here. Wrote an Email to the LG Support via the LG Website with my IMEI. Turned out that i got a Demodevice that canĀ“t be updated. Did you try to flash a Pie KDZ ?
The phone I have was misrepresented as an unlocked phone, come to find out that it was a cross flashed Sprint phone. I sent it in to LG to have it repaired. They wanted $365 to fix it. I got ripped off as the seller sold it as an unlocked phone. Now I'm stuck with a phone that won't update and cannot use Google Pay. LG isn't going to help either.
