cant get fitness tracking to work with galaxy phone - Moto 360

Hi, I got the watch, and paired it with my Samsung Galaxy Note 4.
For several days, the watch tracked my steps, and I had 10k+ for 3 days. I have location services switch off on the phone (dont need them)
Then I installed fit on the phone. In fit, under settings is "connected apps and devices". There are none, and no option to add the connected moto 360.
This then wiped my step history on the watch, and replaced it with the step history on the phone (which is close to zero).
If I walk around with the watch, no steps are registered. If I walk around with the phone, the watch and phone both show the phones steps.
how can I reverse this- that the phone uses the watch to measures steps, not the watch uses the phone?
I dont use the Samsung s Health (which doesnt support the moto, only samsung watches).
I guess I could try uninstalling fit from the phone, but then there is no chance to view my activity on the phone - I can only view it on the watch.

You should try to install moto body. My step counter would not work without it.

[Q] Galaxy Gear doesn't unlock Note 4 -- help asked

Summary: I've got the original Galaxy Gear, and also a Note 4 international (in The Netherlands). The Gear is not rooted. The Note 4 is rooted, but only for Titanium Backup purposes. I've got everything connected and set up and all works properly, except automatic unlocking!
Set-up: I set up my phone to work without locking. Rebooted the phone and the gear. Then I set up automatic unlocking when the gear is near, in the gear manager. It asks me a pattern (twice) and a PIN (twice) and the switch gets "on".
Problem: From now on my phone is always locked, and always asking for a pattern. This is different from my same set-up with an S5, where the phone neatly only requires a swipe when near with my gear (no rhyme intended) and only asks for a pattern when the gear is off or away.
I tried:Reinstalling Gear Manager from scratch. Resetting Gear to factory settings. Clearing all data from Gear software from Titanium. Clearing/deleting all connections in BlueTooth. Reinstalling/geconfiguring Gear Manager, connection, Gear, phone. Disabling all locking on phone. Rebooting both phone and Gear between each step mentoined. Searched the internet/forums for suggestions, nothing found (most people experience the Note NOT locking íf they have any problems at all). Saw somewhere people in forums mentioning needing to put the phone on top of the watch touching it (some proximity issue): I tried that touching it EVERYWHERE on the phone, but this also did nothing. Nothing of this worked, all resulting to the same problem.
Not tried: Complete reflash to factory of phone........not wanting to do that.
Question: Are there any people here with similar issues and maybe (hopefully!) suggestions to fix it? It's really annoying to have to unlock my phone all the time!
Hi,
I'm also having the same problem! Still looking for a fix as well....

Which version of the os are you running on the gear? The original or the new tizen version? That might be the issue of you didn't upgrade the watch to the new version that the gear 2 is using.
anyone find a solution yet? I am running the stock android on the gear (don't want to update to tizen - as I like my side loaded apps)
those with the tizen update installed is the auto unlock working for you?
I have also noticed the e-mail notifications are not coming to the gear from the Note 4 either. With my Note II everything worked/works great (running android 4.4.2). The Note 4 running 4.4.4 doesn't , so it's not a problem with the gear.
thanks,
Kit

[Q] Question about Fit

I installed Google Fit on my Zenwatch and went aboard for a week and left my Zenwatch home. I noticed after I came back that there are data for that week on my handphone!
Is it normal? Where did the data come from? are they correct?
p.s. the Zenwatch was power off during that week.

Fit will also gather data from your phone. If you were using it, that's where the data is from.

You mean my phone can track my steps, etc. even I am not wearing my watch? I doubt it.

Yes, it uses the sensors in the phone. It was available for the phone quite a while before the first Wear devices were available.

Wellness is an Asus app. Earlier you said you used Google Fit. Google Fit can use the sensors in the phone.

I use both.
The Wellness app for the smartphone is, as said above, an Asus app. It does NOT count steps on the phone, but only syncs with the watch and therefore only shows you the steps that the watch measured.
Google Fit on the other hand was primarily designed for phones and uses its sensors to gather steps and other stuff. In addition, Google Fit can also gather the data from Wear Smartwatches (and other 3rd party wearable devices). In the Android Wear app on your phone you should find a setting where you can configure which app should be used on the watch for steps and heart rate. If you select "Wellness" there, Google Fit will not receive any data from the watch, only the Wellness app will. If you select "Google Fit", it's vice versa.
Usually it makes more sense to use Google Fit, because when you do, your steps will be counted if you have EITHER your watch OR your phone with you. And Google Fit is smart enough to not double-count the steps if you carry both. With Wellness on the other hand, you have to wear the watch in order to count your steps.

Thanks for your information.
The Fit app on my watch starts malfunctioning this week, whenever I try getting my heart rate, it shows the rate the moment I put my fingers on the watch! I keep trying and even restart the watch but the problem still exists.
What should I do?

[Q] Step counts on google fit does not us watch data

Hello
My moto 360 when not connected to my phone counts very well my steps (I can see it from the google fit watch face) but when it reconnects to my phone, google fit app erases data from my watch and only "believes" the steps count from my phone....
So when I do sport (without my phone of course) my steps are not taken into account which is really annoying!
Do you know how we can force google fit to use my watch data? Moto body steps count seems to be good but I can't see the counts information on my phone...
Am I the only one in this situation?
Thanks
Unfortunately you're experience is not isolated and there is no way to fix it yourself. It seems to have gotten worse over the past two Google Fit updates. At this point you'll need to wait for Google to fix the issue.
this has been the case ever since
personally, i've switched to using UP for my step tracking... give it a try, you might like it

Can't change face using ZenWatch Manager, Facer or Watchmaker. Only predefined faces

I have ZW1 with sw 4.4W.2 build KNX01W, and I have problem with face synchronization from my phone (Sony M2 Lollipop 5.1.1. rooted). Changes made on phone does not appear on my watch. When I use Facer or Watchmaker I can't force phone to change face. I've tried steps showing in Watchmaker, but it does not work. Also re-sync apps in Android Wear does not work. I can use only faces from my watch internal memory. Any idea?
In the watch, make sure you've given full access to the ZenWatch Manager app. To do this, you just have to find it in the apps list and open it; the watch will ask you if you'd like to allow it to access a variety of things, and then you'll be able to use the ZenWatch Manager's watchfaces.
At least that's how it worked for me.
Thx lesmo_sft, but I found, that problem is in old firmware. My watch wouldn't upgrade automatically, but i found the solution. What I do is download some old version of Android Wear (I tested two - Android Wear v1.0.4.1580939 work fine), reset my zenwatch few times (for first time watch didn't found upgrade) and resync it with cellphone with old version of the Android Wear . I forced watch to upgrade to 5.0.2 LWX49K, and now downloading next update. I found, that Android Wear does change my watch face without problem. After upgrade to newest firmware i will update Android Wear and install Zenwatch Manager.
Whooa!
I had four updates to download from KNX01W > LWX49K > LDZ21T > LCA43 > MEC23S. Now I have Marshmallow on my Zenwatch 1. generation
After the recent update (once I finally got everything to reconnect - a task which took much of a day doing resets and restarts on both the watch and my phone), I can use Zenwatch Manager to change built-in or Android Wear faces, but I can no longer apply my custom faces. The app on my phone goes through the motions and says that it is applying the custom face, but no changes appear on my watch.
I'm very frustrated -- I had a custom-made face that I like much better than any of the "store-bought" ones, but nope, can't use it now.
Of course, contacting tech support got me an auto-reply message that they'd get back to me as they handle cases in order, but that was three days ago and I've not heard another word from them.
And yes, I went into the apps and gave Zenwatch Manager full permissions.

Custom Watch Faces Now Working!
FINALLY!
Couldn't find the solution anywhere, and of course, ASUS offered no help whatsoever.
I deleted FaceDesigner (not Zenwatch Manager) and then reinstalled it (fortunately, it did not delete my already made custom faces, for which I am thankful). Once I reinstalled it, my Zenwatch 2 then asked if I wanted to install it on the watch as well.
Yes, please.
I now have the ability to change to my custom Wisconsin Badgers face again! Woohoo!

Galaxy Watch 5 and 5 Pro ADB, Sideloading, Assistant Fix, BP by Dante working in USA

I replied to the OP's in regards to their work still working for this new generation of Galaxy Watches 5 and 5 Pro
So far everything is just about the same and maybe even easier now that I did it for the Watch 4's for the whole family.
My reply to the original posting about these fixes is here:

A breakdown from those posts:
I am one of the lucky ones that has a Galaxy watch 5 pro with no Google Assistant due to issues in the app connection to the phone.
It goes to open the Google app to start activating assistant like it does with the 44mm Galaxy Watch 5, but it fails to go to the next step of activation and lands on the discovery page.
Well knowing how well this threads info worked for us on the Galaxy Watch 4, I have gone ahead and installed the Google Assistant Go version listed in the post using Bugjaeger.
This time we go into the watch settings >> about watch >> software info >> keep clicking the software version until it tells you developer mode ON.
Then goto watch settings >> Developer Options >> 1. turn on adb debugging
Then goto watch settings >> Developer Options >> 2. debug over wireless
Then goto watch settings >> Developer Options >> Wireless debugging >> + pair new deveice
In Bugjaeger we then start up the connection and click pair, enter the IP, the port and the passcode.
At this point it will be connected in Bugjaeger and the watch will beep showing a new notification for debugging.
Install the Google Assistant GO apk and voila you are good to go.
I did have to do an interactive shell to "wm density 280" in order to click the continue button for activation.
Remember to reset your density to its original number(which on the 5 pro is 340)
If you are like me and need assistant or the device gets returned, use this as a solution until google fixes their routine for activating assistant.
Feel good moment since I wont be returning this loved watch 5 pro!
EDIT1: Nothing above was editing only this addition,
I have also found that the workaround method for the BP/EKG by Dante is still working with the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro. Installation of his APK for the watch can be installed with Bugjaeger just like we installed Google Assistant Go just above.
Dear my friend, just found your thread
i got yesterday my watch 5 pro, but i have exact the same issue as you mentioned, if i press the button on the watch, to activate assistant on the phone, just the google app newsfeed gets opened on the phone, nothing else happend ...
I have a S908E from Singapour and the Watch is from Austria, may this be any issue?
do you know why this happens like that? is it a samsung fault or google?
I have the LTE version Galaxy watch 5 pro. Does my phone need to be on to receive calls and texts? Whenever my phone is in airplane mode or turn off I can't receive calls or texts. Is this normal?
