I would like to unroot my M8, Software statue modified, unlocked, S-ON. What should I do to unroot? My phone is from Taiwan, I used this RUU RUU_M8_UL_K44_SENSE60_MR_BrightstarUS_WWE_2.22.1540.4_Radio_1.19.21331147A1.09G_20.57.4196.01L_F_release_387460_signed_2. It doesn't work. Can anyone give me some tips? CID HTC_621. software number 4.16.709.9 MID OP6B11000.
Restore 4.16.709.9 backup and its recovery.
Do OTA to 4.24.709.2 then 4.24.709.3

Hi,
I unlocked bootloader, installed TWRP and rooted my HTC One M8. Unfortunately, earlier I updated device to 2.22.401.5.
If I will restore 1.54.401.5 software, can OTA 1.54.401.5 -> 1.54.401.10 downgrade firmware from 2.22.401.5 to 1.54.401.10?
Refresh
S-On - No
S-Off - Yes
Is it possible to make S-OFF on 2.22.401.5 firmware without Sunshine?
hello,
My Phone is HTC M8x
MID 0P6B11000
CID HTC__621
My bootloader is unlocked and I am S-On (can't do S-Off cos I don't have MasterCard)
I am currently running the 6.12.1540.4 version software of HTC Marshmallow
How can I return to Stock Lollipop?
I need that to get OTA to Marshmallow and get the latest firmware

hi, thanks for reading this
phone details:
version-main: 2.10.166.2
mid: 0PJA10000
cid: VODAP120
bootloader relocked
S-ON
i would like to update to firmware 3.35 for MM support,
i got a backup of the phone but no stock recovery hence no OTA updates (since i had to flash twrp to be able to backup in the first place ...).
couldnt find a RUU or stock recovery image that would work with my CID i a tried quiet a few EUROPE and VODAFONE zips
is there any other way than: purchasing sunshine to S-OFF -> change the CID-> flash firmware/custom RUU? if that is the only way to go which RUU should i use after CID change?
please advice, thank you
Looking to flash my phone to stock using an run
1. I know my phone has to match mid & Cid but does it have to match you firmware number
HTC_001
1.95.401.4
Latest ruu available is 1.80.401.1
Can I flash that?
RUU has to be 1.95.401.4 or higher unless you are s-off, then you can use any RUU
Hi i have s-on with unlocked bootloader iam trying to restore back to stock using this guide here https://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8/general/guide-restore-european-htc-one-m8-to-t3072235
But iam unable to find stock recovery.img for at&t in order to proceed, Can anyone help out?
To return to "full" stock, just relock the bootloader and flash the 6.20.502.5 RUU (will wipe all user data on the phone). I don't know why that guide is advising to flash the boot.img and recovery.img before flashing the RUU. It isn't necessary.

Will this work even though the device is s-on?

Yes. RUU that is intended for your specific device version (AT&T) will work just fine with s-on. As long as it's equal or greater to version number on the phone (no "downgrading" by RUU is allowed with s-on).
S-off is only needed to run RUU for another version (need s-off to change CID, MID), or to run an older version RUU (downgrade).
