I just need to know if there is an unlock for the new model from Metro-pc??plz any help?
Metro PCS*
And you mean carrier unlock? You can't. Metro is a CDMA carrier. You can only unlock gsm phones like at&t and T-Mobile.

Metro's galaxy s4 is supposed to be their first gsm phone since T-mobile took over. The phone is supposed to be just like our version. Not sure about unlocking, why would you need to anyway?
any suggestions??

Oh yeah i forgot about that. I think that the galaxy s4 is using T-Mobile's GSM network so i think that that website is legit.

ok...it cost 29.99 so ill try this method before i take it to a unlock phone shop and if none of this works out, im returning it for a refund??
What are you returning for a refund? I don't think you can get a refund for the code. For the phone, why would you return it just because you can't unlock it?

MetroPCS's policy is that you can unlock the phone after using it with MetroPCS for three months -- they'll actually do it for you.
However, you can unlock it before that if you find the correct instructions. And, yes, it will work with any GSM network.
My question is this: Are there any differences between the M919 and M919N that would prevent the procedure for unlocking a T-Mobile M919 from working with the M919N?

I have tried the procedures and get to persosha256 area of the debugging menu and it just brings me back to the main menu so that does not work. the weird thing is is that when I put a t-mobile sim in the phone, or any SIM for that matter, it does not read that there is a SIM card at all. I think metro programs the phone with the SIM number and service mode when they activate service. It's not that it is locked, but rather that it won't even register a SIM card other than metropcs.

Unbelievable!
I've been on the phone with MetroPCS ever since I read your response. So far, I'm getting two conflicting stories. Salespeople at stores are saying that you get an unlocking code after three months of owning the S4. The official customer service line rep has said that the issue of not being able to use the phones with other carriers is pissing off customers and the issue will be resolved very soon. I have yet to speak with a few other CS people onsite and possibly a supervisor to get a less sketchy response.
At this point, it sounds as though either salespeople are lying or official customer service doesn't know what it's talking about.
I've spoken to three salespeople at different locations -- two in different stores in NYC, one in White Plains -- and all repeat the same unlocking in three months speech that got me to buy the phone in the first place.
It sounds as though the issue will likely be resolved, but what I'd like to know is why this particular phone is posing problems in the first place when no other GSM carrier has had this issue.
Thanks for making me aware of this, sgtmedeiros.
MetroPCS seems profoundly disorganized. Half the people in customer service look at the wrong (non-GSM) map when you ask about S4 coverage and deny you can get reception in places where I've already gotten it.
---------- Post added at 04:55 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:30 PM ----------
Finally got through to a supervisor in corporate and she said your SIM should be recognized; that she has been getting reports the phone's tested and works with other GSM carriers. She wants me to call her back early next week and claims she'll have a definitive answer to my questions and a response to your situation.
However, you're the one who's having the issue. Have you tried contacting them as well?

I have talked to a couple of representatives here and the issue seems to be with imei pairing. when activated, the device is programmed to only pick up a certain sim card. If the sim card inserted into the device is not that card, then the phone will not even recognize that there is a sim card at all. ridiculous!

I read the listing of the "fastgsm" guy very carefully. He specifically says that he does not unlock the m919n for USA!.. Be careful.
...
I was able to buy a the unlock from eBay: search for "M919N Unlock"
Some really helpful guy send me 2 codes in the email - 12 hours after payment.
I initially got 2 codes from him:
1ST CODE: SERVICE PROVIDER unlock PIN: XXXXXXXX (8 numeric digits); and
2ND CODE: SIM network unlock PIN: XXXXXXXX (8 numeric digits).
He said that the phone will first prompt for the 1st code and then prompt for the 2nd code.
Here's what happened:
Inserted a non Metro PCS micro SIM.
I plugged in the 1st code... and the same screen came back. tried the 1st code again on the same screen... the same screen came back again... tried the 2nd code on the same input box ... phone read "Wrong Code Entered 3 times, you must reboot"
F***ED... I thought... The phone was still working on Metro PCS.
Wrote back to the guy and asked him what's up -- sent him my other phone number. Received a call back, almost instantly.
He said (Korean accent) that he did not realize that the phone needed 3 codes (WTF?). He gave me another code that I wrote down on a piece of paper. Asked him to hang with me while I do this....
Inserted non Metro PCS micro SIM again.. and booted.
Phone prompted for Service Provider PIN: <<entered the new 8 digit PIN>> <enter>
Phone prompted for SIM network unlock PIN: <<entered the 2nd CODE from email>>
clicked <enter>
Voila... Phone unlocked!
.. was kinda scared there for a moment! ... all good now!
if anyone wants to know ...
Ebay Item #121166155845
it was $44.95.. kinda pricey... but hey... if the phone's unlocked!

I was thinking...since the metropcs variant uses the tmobile network I wonder if an unlock code from an M919 will work to unlock it.
Has anyone tried this method. I have confirmed that the SIM card in the metropcs is infact a tmobile SIM.
I am just thinking out loud. I guess I could try it but I dont know of a reputable unlock site I could try it with who will refund me if it doesnt work.

My story is unique. For another reason I flashed my MetroPCS SGH-M919N with T-Mobile firmware as a result I got a SGH-M919 with UVUAMDL firmware, took a chance and went to fastgsm, paid unlock as T-Mobile SGH-M919, download app and unlocked my phone. A week later flash metro pcs firmware back to SGH-M919M UVUAMF2 and my phone still unlocked, I can put any SIM from anywhere on it working flawlessly
Hi, I am having trouble with unlocking a S3. I know for a fact it is not unlocked and when I put in the #.... stuff in dial pad, I go to UMTS, phone control, etc. I don't have the 4th option appear and I always see: "SHA256_ENABLE_FLAG [0]." When I put in an AT&T Sim, I get "enter unlock code." Something is wrong. It is a blacklisted phone, but my last S3 was blacklisted temporarily. I managed to do it before, so what's wrong now?

I am going to be trading my at&t s4 for a tmo note 3. The note 3 owner claims the phone is unlocked. Besides putting my At&t sim in the phone, is there anyway to verify? I thought i read somewhere that the 3rd party sites will unlock the phone but could cause problems later on. I want to make sure it is unlocked through TMO like he states.

There are two ways you can tell that Samsung Note 3 cellphone is unlocked, one way is with
a different sim chip like an Tmobile sim if it already has an AT&T sim chip in it.
The other way to tell for sure is to go into:
settings>more networks>mobile networks>network operators> and select "search now".
It may take the phone a minute or so to get the network information but after it has it
it should display both AT&T and Tmobile as an option as well as perhaps other networks
too like MetroPCS and so on.
If it only displays the network name of the current sim chip in it it's NOT unlocked.
By the way, 3rd party unlock sites are usually excellent so no need to worry about that.
I just picked up a Samsung S6 Edge 925V and I am starting to think this phone is completely useless here. I have a SIM chip from Telcel in Mexico. I popped in the chip expecting a screen to enter an unlock code but instead I have the message "SIM card is not from Verizon" and not LTE signal. I thought that I would be able to install SM-925I but I"ve been reading that is not possible.
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated!
Verizon Note 5 has a locked bootloader..you cannot flash anything other than stock Verizon firmware on it. As for unlocking for use on other networks, you need to either contact Verizon or look for a reliable online unlocking service

OK, so this weekend I decided to try my AT&T SIM Card with my Note 4 from Sprint. I thought it would ask me for a SIM unlock code or something but it recognized the card and showed "3G". However, I got the card icon which said "Invalid SIM Card".
Any idea why I did not get the prompt to input unlock code? Thanks!

The sim inside the sprint note 4 is only to access the LTE network. So since you took the sprint sim out, you would be only receiving 3g. That is why you are receiving the invalid sim card error, because its not using it.

So I am getting that error because the SIM card is not using LTE? I don't get it. If the phone is unlocked, shouldn't it ask for an unlock code?

There's been plenty of discussion in this forum about bringing SM-N910P to other networks. I'm no expert, haven't done it myself but what I read repeatedly posted is that radios in this version did not allow LTE on domestic carriers when unlocked. Seems a common issue with phones made for CDMA carriers; taking them to another carrier may not meet your expectations. If the limitations are acceptable, maybe you consider going ahead and weigh your options.
Again, there's plenty of threads in this forum discussing this but here's one that I found that may help. To me, it's been rare for @idone to post these days but he posted here.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah I am aware that the Sprint Note 4 would give me 3G or H+ but not LTE which is fine by me. I was wondering why the phone did not ask me for the Unlock code to begin with when I threw a GSM card in there.

Did you find your answer? Or still asking?
It's likely Sprint will give you a MSL number but not unlock the phone to use on domestic carriers. I think you still need to unlock it for that purpose. But the developer I referred you to can do this with or without the MSL. His tools are capable; his service is a full unlock for domestic. I don't think you need the unlock for carriers outside the U.S. the way the phone is currently. Sprint may clear a phone for domestic carrier use but not unlock it or help you activate it. You'll likely find no carrier to help you unlock it either.
I'm sure there are ways to do it yourself but it's gotten more complex with Lollipop and Marshmallow. I'm just not sure how it's done because I haven't fully done it. Only walked through it partially back in KitKat but kept Sprint SIM and service. Didn't try another SIM card.

No I'm still looking for an answer. I have messaged idone on their website and sent a PM. I need this unlocked and take it to H2O. Sprint gave me the MSL code to be given to a GSM carrier but I call BS on that. Strange thing is the damn phone recognizes the AT&T SIM card as a 3G card all right but still says "Invalid SIM Card".

No expert here, but dont you need an AT&T SIM card that has your phone unique ID info programmed into it so it registers on AT&Ts network?
I thought the MSL would just unlock an area in the phone where you would change DNS type info to AT&T's towers/network.
