OTA updates - One (M8) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I currently have CM12.1 installed, I am on UK ee network and there are some of their apps that need stock ROM.
Can I install the stock ROM and still have it rooted of which I know how to do or can I install ARHD and still get the OTA?
I was still going to use xposed and some modules to customize what I want.

[Q] How do we update if we've already installed TWRP?

Until we get a proper CyanogenMod for this phone I'm staying as close to stock as possible (plus root and Wanam). I'm rooted and installed TWRP, so how do I update to the latest ROM from T-Mobile?
To update OTA u need stock recovery. This goes for every phone.

Reverting to stock for lollipop?

Do we have to revert to stock Rom to upgrade to lollipop? Was wondering if it's the same with the htc eye update wherein you have to go back to stock and update manually before flashing the custom rom. I am having an extremely difficult time going back to stock for some weird reason.
For every major update on this device so far (AFAIK) HTC has updated the firmware. So yes, my guess will be that you will need to update firmware to run Sense Lollipop custom ROMs And unless you s-off and therefore able to update the firmware manually; your alternative will be to return to stock ROM and recovery and OTA to Lollipop.
Ohhh, Been trying to revert to stock but it just doesnt work. thanks
If I'm just rooted and not s off stock Rom and all that anything I need to do to get the lollipop update or just wait for it to hit my ota on my phone?

Just wait for it. If you're stock then you shouldn't have a problem. The only real headache will be how long you have to wait to get the OTA.
Stock: Stock ROM, Stock Recovery, No changes to system i.e no xposed framework. No deleted pre-installed apps(Facebook etc) no changes to files like platform.xml, build.prop etc.
Being rooted on the other hand shouldn't cause any problems.

Need stock lollipop rom for rooted T800

I want to install a stock lollipop rom that has nothing changed because I may have deleted some system apks that are needed for the Default App manager to work. I want to get everything back to normal as possible and then reinstall a custom rom. I am rooted and have twrp installed. I do not want to lose rooted or twrp if possible.

AT&T HTC one M8: OTA marshmallow or custom ROM

Hello,
I want to update to 6.0.1 marshmallow. My phone is rooted, unlocked bootloader with s on, stock 5.0.2 lollipop. I installed the elemental kernel to run viper4android. I'm able to install the stock recovery if I want, right now I have twrp. My question is what is the easiest way to update to marshmallow with out losing data and having to reset up my phone again? Also, if I go the OTA route, will I lose root? Is a custom ROM like revolution the best way? Want to make is as painless as possible.
Thanks,
RM

stock s3 i747 4.1.2, what should I do first? I want update, root, xposed in the end

Hi there, just factory reset my i747 s3 att phone. i am on 4.1.2.
Should I root first with chainfire easily or should I update first? I dont even remember how to update this phone from stock. I would like to be at 4.4.2 or above (or are any of the newer versions good, 5/6 etc?) with root and xposed installed in the end. What should be next steps be?
thanks!
Moved to Q&A
If the phone is not sim unlocked, I would flash a stock 4.1.1 ROM from sammobile.com using Odin and use the free method to sim unlock. I would then run OTA updates until the phone is running the latest stock ROM. Running OTA updates is the slowest but easiest method to get the phone running the latest modem and bootloader. Many recent custom ROMs require the latest bootloader and modem to function.
