Hi,
I have Sprint Touch Pro 2 and I have noticed that the YouTube app that comes preinstalled does not play sound, but only plays video. Is there any way to fix this problem? Thank you.

Yep. Played movie before trying youtube. I take it that it works without problem in yours?
I believe there is problem with HTC codec for sound when using HQ from youtube. The only fix that I've heard of is to download the LQ stream. And the only way I know of doing that is by using GPRS rather than WiFi.
So if you are using WiFi that's most probably the reason. Hopefully someone can help with a better fix than this.

You should be able to select the quality within the app by going to Settings > Video Playback Quality > Fast Download.
Hey guys,
I have run into a problem that I can't find a fix for. I am running my One V with AOKP JB Rom 10-17 with JellyBoot5.img. Problem is also persistant with older AOKP roms and img's. When ever I am listening to music via Spotify or stock player with headphones and a call comes in and I answer it. After I hang up and the music automatically resumes, the audio is all distorted. I have to unplug my headphones and restart the app again.
Has anyone else had this problem before or has a resolution for it?
Much appreciated! Thank you!
Please ask all questions in the Q&A section. Thread moved there.
Could be this bug (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1859207).
It's interesting though that restarting the app and reconnecting the headphones sorts it, in my case only restarting the phone fixed it.

I am using AOKP JB 10-20 ROM with JellyBoot5.img if that helps. I found it a problem on older ROM versions as well.
Any advice?
I've used 2 diff ROMs and I get the same result. Anyone else? If I listen continuely, after 1 track the next will play out of the phone speaker not earphones or thru aux jack when plugged into my stereo. I'm wondering if this is a ROM issue or a Play issue or S3 issue.
I get same issue on stock not rooted... no idea what it is

I have the same problem when I plug my S3 into my AUX jack in my car. It doesn't matter what app I'm using, if I change the song or any buffering happens (basically any interruption in the output) the output switches to my phone speaker. I have to unplug then plug back in the audio cable from the car's aux jack to get it to work again.
This happened on a stock rom and happens on the current "GOODNESS" SG3 ROM.
I'm on the stock ROM and I'm having the same problem, except it's when I get text messages and it gets interrupted, music starts playing from the phone and I pause and re-play it again for it to come out of headphones again.
I now have another issue...now my media sound get stuck on no sound. . Can't move the sound bar have to reset phone to get media audio. .. any help ?

Same issue here. Stock or custom rom.

Everyone should contact Google about this. They are looking into it for me, they even had me send them a log. It happens frequently, still hasn't been fixed....please, if you have the same issue as me report it so they have more cases...
According to Google Play Team they made some major changes which should have resolved the issue and to let them know if the issue persists. See the attached screenshot of my email for proof (or view full screen at http://i.imgur.com/Z8Hrm.png )

wait im confused.
IF they fized it.. and there hasnt been an update to Google Music on the Play store. How does this get fixed ????
Is this a secret otr fix ???
It seems, every other review is bashing Oneplus 3 for the poor quality audio in the video taken by Oneplus 3. It seems so in those videos too. It sounds horrible.
To those who have already got their One, could you provide some feedback on this?
Took a test video (4k) today, myself speaking a bit and playing guitar a bit. Sounded OK, by far not as bad as many Youtube videos shot with the OP3.
It is exactly the way these reviews describe it.
Ambient noise is basically completely filtered out.
I really hope this can be improved by software because right now it is the worst
quality I got so far from a smartphone.
Can it be fixed? or is it a hardware issue?
This seems to be the noise cancelation being activated on video, which it shouldn't be.
Totally software, but I really hope they fix it. Makes video recordings sound terrible .

Just discovered this as well. A huge problem even when my room is completely quiet and I'm sending a short snapchat video.

I sure hope the 3.1.4 update fixes it since there are audio optimizations. I've found a workaround by plugging in ear buds or headphones while recording.

Does this cause the phone to record through the mic in the headphones or does it still use the mic on the phone?

I used a pair of headphones without a mic so it would still have been the mic on the phone.

Hmmm it must have been working last night when I was video chatting with Facebook Messenger but I can't reproduce the results in Snapchat or any other recording app. Damn shame but it seems like my only choice for now is to use my earbuds with a mic until this is fixed.
This can definitely be fixed with changes to the mixer_paths.xml file. After much anger and try and error I determined that the phone uses the file "mixer_paths_tasha.xml" and not the regular "mixer_paths.xml" file. I alos found that when recording with google camera it uses the "speaker-stereo-dmic-ef" audio path.

Would just deleting the "tasha" file have adverse effects or would it just default back to the correct xml file?
