Hi I recently purchased a note II t889v, I didn't have a micro sim at the time to test it properly. I am stuck on edge:2 while on rogers. I then noticed that it had been flashed by the previous owner. So I looked around the forums.
Details:
-In download mode model is listed as sgh-t889v_NA_VTR
-I have tried to reflash to stock MCT T889VVLALJ4 gets stuck in boot loop
-extracted the modem.bin and flashed using odin and cwm flash. sometimes boots up to lock screen but crashes then reboots or freezes
-using t-mob t889 modem(T889UVALJ1_Modem.zip) allows me to start the and use the phone, but limits to edge:2
-IMEI is listed in the status
I'm trying to get the phone to connect to UMTS.
Any help or input would be appreciated thank you in advance.

I have already tried flashing that modem also. I'm one of the 6 people who downloaded it lol. as soon as it was released by ptmr on his jedi 3 rom. gets stuck in boot loop also. only modem so far that didn't boot loop was the t-mobile modem t889.

Yes I have ch3cked the imei on the phone and battery also. They both match. Unless somehow the efs may be corrupted by the previous owner. I'm still boggled why I get stuck in boot loop flashing the modem meant for my phone.

Now try flash stock T889V via Odin . When in bootloop boot your note into recovery .Then factory reset , reboot.

1. downloaded the T889VVLALJ4_T889VYVLALJ4_MCT firmware from sammobile
2. downloaded odin 3.07
3. put phone into download mode using voldown+home+power
4. opened odin
5. plugged in usb.
6. waited for com to show up and looked for added msg.
7. clicked pda selected the T889VVLALJ4_T889VYVLALJ4_T889VVLALJ4_HOME.tar.md5 file
8. ensured auto boot and f reset only checked.
9. pressed start.
10. phone reboots into a boot loop
11. hold volup+home+power go into stock recovery and factory reset
12. reboot system
13. still in bootloop
also I don't know if this will help solve the issue. with odin I cannot flash any modems other than t889v(LJ4). whenever I try to flash t889(LJ1) modem it fails in odin but works when using CWM.

I hope so too. I just don't understand why the phone won't boot up unless I use the t-mobile modem. but I only get stuck on edge:2
I just noticed that when I boot up after installing a stock rom I'm still rooted does that mean anything?
i get bootloop too on the t889v without the t889v mdm. so strange.

[Q] flashed stock image using ODIN, stuck at boot at "Samsung". assistance requested
My wife's phone T989 stopped working during the week previously running one of the custom ROMs for Jedi Mind Trick. Unable to put or enter custom recovery i have restarted the phone to put into download mode, run Odin 3.07 and flashed factory stock image for the phone. Odin recognizes the phone, and completes the flash successfully. phone reboots but always stuck at samsung screen (just the letters, not the animation). the previous ways to get phone into download mode (power + volume buttons do not work), however, i can get it into download mode but doing volume and usb connection on power up. Odin still sees the phone fine and allows me to reflash factory image.
Any hints of where to look at next? is locating proper PIT file my next setp?
Thank you for your help
if it helps, here is what I see in the download mode
What I see in the ODIN mode
ODIN MODE
PRODUC NAME :SGH-989

Thank you. no luck so far. I used ODIN 1.85 to flush stock image. everything worked without error, phone restart and is stuck at the same Samsung screen it was stuck before (waited for 1.5 hours to confirm).
The image i am trying to flush T989UVLE1_T989TMBLE1_T989UVLE1_HOME.tar.md5
My next attempt would be to flash T989UVMC6_T989TMB_T989UVMC6_HOME.tar.md5 images.
Any other thoughts?
Got it to work
If it would help anyone - used ODIN 3.07 and T989UVMC6_T989TMB_T989UVMC6_HOME.tar.md5 , flashed but did not wait for the phone to finish reboot. entered recovery, flashed system data to remove boot loop and got the phone to finish booting.
Thanks to all who helped!
Hey everyone, 1st off thanks to all the great people here that take there time to help and give back, much love and respect!
So i have a Note 2, i was using it last night, and it just froze! So i waited and waited, nothing! I tried to power down, nothing, so i popped the battery out and it restarted and stayed at "Samsung Galaxy Note II"
I tried many many times to restart and power down, still come back to the same result!
My phone is:
Note 2 SGH-T899V (wind mobile)
I downloaded odin v3.09, i loaded samsung drivers, i downloaded T889VVLUDNE7 from sammobile.
I put phone in download mode, attached cable loaded file from odin(clicked and unclicked all the correct boxes) and everything "Passed" on odin
Phone reset and got stuck again on Samsung screen. So i
Pull out the battery, wait for about 1 minute and then put the battery back in its place.
Boot the device into Stock Recovery mode by holding down Volume Up, Center(menu) button and Power keys till the Samsung logo appears.Use the volume keys to scroll and power keys to select recovery menu options.
From the menu, wipe data by selecting wipe data/factory reset option followed by wipe cache partition. Finally reboot the system by selecting reboot system now.
and still it is stuck in Samsung screen.
I then installed CWM 6.4.3 with no problems, went into recovery wiped user and cache and installed zip from sd card. It would try and then "INSTALLATION ABORTED"
Re Downloaded zip tried again, same thing "INSTALLATION ABORTED"
Flashed CF Auto root, then went into recovery and tried to install from zip and "signature verification failed"
flashed CWM again, tried install "installation aborted"
Guys where am i going wrong, or what step did i miss? Please help!!!
Anyone please help!

Actually I dont own this device so I dont know which firmware version are they ..... any chance you have flashed knox bootloader and these firmware don't have know?
And you can only flash zip files in recovery and I think you are trying to flash .tar file using recovery?? Thats y it is not getting flashed..... do this download any latest custom rom zip and flash it via recovery it will surely fix your issues
to what i know it would take some time for a newly flashed android device to boot out of boot logo.

Just download custom recovery and download custom rom of 4.4.2 and flash via recovery and ur fone will boot up for sure
Most probably u have upgraded ur fone with knox bootloader and now trying to flash non-know enabled firmware or older version know bootloader firmware.... there is no way yet to remove knox bootloader so u need to flash latest firmware using recovery either stock deodexed zip or any custom rom

Can u upload a pic of your phone in download mode..?
Sent from my GT-N7100 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Trying to fix a friend's GT-N7105. At the moment it just bootloops the Samsung bootloader screen (which shows the model number GT-N7105).
I can boot it into download mode just fine. On download mode it just says that both the "Current Binary" and "System Status" are "Custom".
I've tried flashing the stock ROM for the phone (the latest for the Optus version) with Odin. I've also tried doing a firmware restore through Kies 2. Both of these complete fine, but the phone continues bootlooping the Samsung logo.
I've tried directly flashing the newest bootloader with Odin, and I've tried flashing a custom recovery with Odin. I've tried flashing the stock firmware with the device's PIT file and re-partition selected. Nothing seems to change how the phone behaves. I can't boot into recovery mode (it just continues the Samsung logo bootlooping).
The emmc doesn't seem busted, since it happily downloads the full system.img when flashing. Odin/Kies finish flashing without errors, so I'm stumped. Any ideas?

Make sure that you have pressed power + volume up + home button to boot into recovery (maybe you have known already)
And try to format everything: data, system, cache,...Wipe everything. There should be some adb commands to do it without recovery. After that reflash stock ROM again to see if it work.

Thanks for that. This seems to be for the N7100. I tried flashing that file both as is and when replacing the included recovery with one appropriate for the N7105. Still just boots back to the bootloader (looping, same as before). Certainly didn't make anything worse.
If I leave it alone, sometimes it randomly makes it to the animated Samsung logo, where it plays the boot sound (dun dun dun duuun dun), but then this animation loops forever (I have tried leaving it overnight).

HI Please i have this ERROR ON mY N910p it wont flash any custom or stock firmware i don't know what to do . my Note 4 can't boot in to recovery mode. it boots at times and goes off after but in the download mode it boots well and it show the error in the images on Odin and on my phones screen ..i have tried soo many tricks but yet it didn't work .i'm confuse please some one should help me get back my N910p to Life please
If you're trying to flash a ROM from the stock recovery, that could be one of your issues. You would need to have a custom recovery like TWRP in order to flash from recovery.
As for using ODIN to flash a stock ROM, make sure you have the correct drivers installed to your computer before attempting to flash anything. Make sure you are choosing the correct slot in ODIN to load your .tar file as well. I've never seen eMMC errors in download mode before but that doesn't look good. I'm not that knowledgeable about Android phones yet to be able to troubleshoot very many issues.

Flash this QI5 firmware it will flash without errors because as i can see "fuse 5 binary 4" means you are on QI5 BL/BB so you cannot flash older firmware because its locked bootloader/baseband.
Must do factory reset from stock recovery after finish flashing.

Did you flash the QI5 firmware and then do a factory reset right away from stock recovery like Trex888 said to do?
So it bootloops and then powers off completely by itself after a few seconds?

Do a wipe data factory reset & wipe cache then reboot system.
If that doesn't work then follow this steps and be patient.
1,downloaf twrp recovery for n910p

Do a wipe data factory reset & wipe cache then reboot system.
If that doesn't work then follow this steps and be patient.

THanks ... i will do that right Now and will tell you the result
for anyone not new to rooting , unbricking, stock flashing , twrp , etc ive had this very same problem after nights of screaming and confusion cause i KNOW im doing everything correct .. exact problems as lots have had here .. i replaced my cord with a cheap gas station android cord and borrowed a friends battery that was only a few days old .. and everything worked as it should .. moral of this story .. i assumed my hardware was fine cause independently both worked fine .. but for whatever reason it just wasnt good enough to flash stock FW problem solved .. it only took me a month to come to this amazing discovery (-_-) hope this helps someone ......
