Can I rollback from BOG5? - Verizon Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've seen the Rollback thread but it explicitly states its for an earlier version.
Has anyone successfully rolled back from BOG5?
Thanks IN Advance,
Matt

Crap...I'm sorry, I read that in another post. Sorry to clog.
You mentioned Repair Assist might get me back...think it's possible?

It will repair a phone to the latest software and will not roll back a phone.

Stock

Yeah, you gotta just return it to stock. Then.... I'd wait til Monday to sell it with a fresh stock ICS on there for improved selling purposes of course. So you'd have to update the firmware twice after returning to stock/factory reset--the Gingerbread prepatory update, then 4.0 Monday. Why I'm really getting into this discussion is to ask you to keep me/us up to date with your switch. I am looking at making the same switch (as are others) when it comes over to T-Mobile at the end of the month. So after using it for a while I'd love for you to write a review on how it's going. What you use, like, don't like, etc.... Thanks!
How's that note treating you? I'd buy the note over the gs3 its just full of win lol

[Q] Any news about android 4.1.2 update for EE Note 2 LTE (GT-N7105)

Hi,
Has anybody heard any news about android 4.1.2 update for EE Note 2 LTE (GT-N7105)? Why Samsung takes such a long time to role out updates is beyond me. N-7105 has already been updated in other markets.
Not heard anything as yet.

Thanks, Samsung is very slow on updates for some weird reason.
I see the update is in kies now. Anyone updated yet? Any issues? I'm holding back just incase there's battery drain with it.

Ok updated via kies to 4.1.2 all good so far, even updated the Note 10.1 for good measure.
Not noticed any drain as yet but it's early days, I'll check back in a week If there is any developing issues.

Thanks. I went ahead and updated at the weekend. Battery seems pretty much on a par with 4.1.1. And that's without doing a factory reset too. So I'm pleased so far.

Galaxy Note 2 to skip Android 4.2, go straight to 'newer version'

Here's the link to it: http://www.androidcentral.com/galax...go-straight-newer-version-says-aussie-carrier
I'm not sure if you guys trust Androidcentral, but what do you guys think about it?

I think the international variants will get updates first. ..and us last...
If at all...
Note 3 is likely to hit before an OS upgrade for this device. ..imho...g

I've been wondering if this would be a possibility. Even though it would probably delay us getting an update, I think I would be ok with it.

We will probably get the update before Verizon and sprint
Maybe around same time as T-Mobile
And Google should be showing 4.3 next week so we might get the update before the note 3

I agree. I believe the note 3 will launch with the newest version, international note 2 will get updated shortly after (I'd say a few months) then the last update will be us.
Only other option would be to get 4.2 out on the note 2 (all variants) as quickly as possible and launch the note 3 with 4.3 in late October. I can't really see this happening though in my opinion. The less versions Samsung and the providers have to check and test the better it is on everyone.

Is this your first Android phone? Typically it takes 6 months after Google shows an update for it to come to you (at least)

Look at Asus devices
They took like 1 or 2 months after ICS and jellybean to get the updates

The other option will NEVER happen. If they were to release 4.3 for our phones before the note 3 comes out..... they'd be shooting themselves in the foot because then there would be no reason to upgrade. This phone is already on the edge of perfect. New OS is really the only reason I would upgrade when the time comes for me.

Look at the history of android, that happened maybe twice.
6 months at least is typical (I would even say expected)

That would be before the official build hits us
But what about leaked builds
The DNA got leaked builds of sense 5 like 2 months after it was released
And there still isn't the official build for it
We will have it whether it be official or not
But it will hit us real soon
I say 2 months tops before leak

My Tab S 8.4 doesn't come with Knox - does that mean I can root without tripping the

Hi XDA guys,
Bought my Galaxy Tab S 8.4 through Expansys UK and noticed that I don't have the Samsung Knox software installed. Anyone else have the same case? Does this mean I can root without any issue of tripping any counter? Is the private mode same as the Knox? Thanks in advance.

I don't have a Knox app on mine either. But I think Knox lives at the bootloader level so it can still be tripped if rooted.

Hello,
I have Galaxy Tab S SM-T705. I did not see any KNOX app on it but I found it in application manager. I rooted it then disappointment I have tripped KNOX.
Do you know where is KNOX app?
Go to setting - General - Security - Device administrators if it has KNOX then click on it for install or not.
I hope it will help you.
Sorry my bad English Grammar.
Thanks for all the reply and yeah I think Knox is somewhere out there. I have somehow made a decision that I will root which I always do but not until we have official Android L.

Well Google has a policy now that phones need to be supported for 18 months after release by the manufacturer. The question is whether it applies to tablets as well.

OT. Google won't hold OEM to it. As with many devices, they haven't in the past, only bother with the commercially viable ....

You mean 4.1.2.... For the 3G model only and only for Asian market (could manually flash with Odin though).
Unlike your 7.7 3G, my poor old 7.7 WiFi never got past ICS officially
