Hi,
I'm trying to remove pull up gesture. i.imgur.com/dWqolwM.png - sorry I cannot insert outside link yet
I don't want to use things like "do nothing when pull up". It is really annoying, because of that i can't use LMT at the bottom of the screen.
Where is any way to uninstall this ? Auto Hide Soft Keys overwrite this but still crashes and needs reboot.
EDIT1: I found this app Swipe Navigation [Root]. Maby it wont crash like a GMD. I still looking for an option to remove search gesture
Thanks !

To hide and / or replace the navigation buttons on Xperia M I would like to recommend GMD AutoHide Soft Keys.
I have installed it and it works perfect
http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-4/themes-apps/root-gmd-autohide-soft-keys-t2253770
It is highly customizable
You can set the bar that appears when you slide from the bottom and hide by tapping the side
This lets you use the phone with the slightly larger screen
regards
Nice
Works great
Thanks for the tip. One problem I keep having is hitting the home key instead of the space bar while texting. Very annoying! I will try this app and see if I can solve this problem and report back.
Edit: Okay, after a few hours playing with it (pro version) here are my experiences with it with Xperia M:
1) Changed my wallpaper without asking
2) Removed alarm notification from top notification tray, had to reset (turn off then on) my alarms to get it back
3) Removed battery percentage symbol from top notification tray, had to toggle it off and on in settings to get it back
4) "Spoof Soft Keys" option does nothing. What's it supposed to do? I am assuming it would make a clear space where the regular softkeys would be in effect pushing everything back up but toggling that option does nothing at all.
5) The quickbar does not work (cannot be swiped or tapped into view) when the far right icon "Recent Apps Button" is selected. You have to tap somewhere on the screen in order to back get out of recent apps view (the small apps launcher is probably too blame)
6) The selectable Xperia icons in the app are not the same as our Xpermia M icons
Edit 2
7) App doesn't work automatically on reboot with Xperia M. I had to actually click on its icon to get it to work again after a reboot. No good, uninstalled it
theres an alternative for hide nav bar, using UDN lite
original thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2270198
use xposed to work properly
works great on stock and cm 11 beta 3
UDN + Xposed is perfect

Yes, after two days of testing UDN is working fine for me too. Just sucks that you have to install a seperate module (Xposed) to make it work

You can use build.prop to hide the soft key navigator, so Xposed is no need. But I don't like this method, this seems to be a pain when undo if this UDN suddenly stop working
I am trying to disable the softkey nav for the purpose of using pie controls.
I am able to disable the softkey by editing the build.prop, but the problem is pie controls are useless because when I swipe up from the bottom of my screen, the google now "swipe" is shown rather than pie controls.
Does anyone know how to completely disable this action from being registered? I've searched all over for it but couldn't find anything. I'm not interested in disabling google now from being the option when I swipe up, I am interested in completely disabling anything from happening when I swype up.

Hi
I am trying to do the same, but i didn't get any way in forum. I guess that using xposed module is possible to disable... But it is still unestable, and I prefer to wait for good release...
I hope someone else give us a solution...
First off, let me say that I love that the G3 comes with a setting to hide the soft keys. The only complaint I have is it takes too long to go away once you bring it up. If you don't know what I mean go into an application bring it up and go home and see how long it stays.
I used an application called UND Navbar and it works great, you can choose to hide the bar as soon as you press a button. The only downside is the fact that you can't use the split screen and other button combinations the g3 has, you're stuck with the traditional soft keys.
Is anyone aware of an app or an Xposed Module that would allow me to have the navigation bar hide once I click one of the buttons?

I have that and I've looked through. I don't see any settings for that.
Could you guide me to what you are talking about, because I can't find it.

Hey dude i was using UND aswell problem is its quite slow, and often it glitches or buttons dont work.
I tried many methods, by far the best one is "Auto hide soft keys" off the market - its VERY snappy and you can adjust the miliseconds for it to minimize OR just get it to minimize once you hit the key.

UND was lightning fast for me but the problem was it doesn't give you the split screen and drop down options that the lg soft keys have. It's the same problem with GMD.

Like what?
Split screen works for me with GMD enabled, but you may mean something else.

How do you get it to work? It disappears from the bar when I turn the app on.

Go to the recents window, select Dual Window - Slide first app UP - slide 2nd app DOWN, use as normal, touch the bottom when you want the nav bar to reappear.
Okay, that makes sense. I feel pretty stupid right now considering I see that option every single time I go to the recents window.

All good brother - you got there in the end.

Is there a way to disable the soft keys when the keyboard is in use ? External desktop does not take.

Well if you flash a custom rom some have a navbar toggle for the notification pull down. You might be able to use tasker to set something up like that as in when the keyboard pops navbar hides then show back up after it's closed, but I'm not too sure as I haven't used it myself. Aside from manually toggling it I'd say that would be your best bet. I know for a fact that blisspop has the toggle.

Hello! I'm hoping that I can disable the soft navigation bar, and go to a more traditional Fire OS style of navigation, using swipe navigation.
I found a post caliming that "PImp my rom" can disable the nav bar, but it didn't seem to respond to the tweak option, and I still have the soft nav bar
Thank you,
cheers

But expandable Desktop doesnt set the on screen keys to disable, only hide. They'll still show if you're swiping up.
Adding a new line with qemu.hw.mainkeys=1 to root/system/build.prop with a text editor Will permanently disable on-screen keys. It would have been handy if there was a UI shortcut for that somewhere.
Anyway I force-disabled Screen buttons, set Double tap to recent apps, and hold button to google now. Then bought the app you suggested to set all 3 swipe from bottom gestures to mimic the back function. Now the navigation feels just like FireOS's except amazon search assistant is replaced with google and I love it.

Using a prop editor, I was able to add h qemu.hw.mainkeys=1 to root/system/build.prop <-- fantastic fix
I then customized the home button to do double tap-- app library, and hold-- switch back to last app.
Swipe Navigation works wonders, just as Chocolina stated above
Better solution
If you want to completly disable navigation bar soft keys then you must install slim kat,you can easily completly disable the soft keys and can add swipe up navigation just like amazon..i m also using slim kat rom and i have personally tested all roms but look wose slim kat is the best rom and no bugs in it..i have also disabled the system navigation keys and added swipe up to go back and hold home button for recent apps.
